Android File Transfer - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Is there anything similar to Android File Transfer out there? For some reason I can't seem to load my phone up through AFT to drag music files over. I don't like HTC Sync manager. So I was wondering if there is anything similar out there that you know of?

I use wifi transfer pro

Connection issues with windows 8

Hey all,
I have looked through the thread topics and haven't seen anything that resembles this issue.
My n7 will connect to the PC while in ptp mode but not mtp. I am on rasbeanjelly 4.2.2 with trinity kernel, not sure if that might play in but figured I'd add it. Has this issue come up before and what can be done to rectify it? Thanks.

I had the same issue today. Uninstalling the driver for adb and then plugging in my Nexus 7 seemed to fix it.
Check out WiFi File explorer. It is like a web based file server that runs on your tab.
Makes it so easy to transfer files and helps when doing cross device transfers. Load it up and access it with any browser to upload and download files.
Great for big stuff so you can go about your business while it transfers and it seems much faster then using the cable.
My tab only touches a PC connection once to root.

Also, if you don't want to keep installing and uninstalling drivers, you could just use the adb push/pull commands. I'd only do this is you're really desperate though, as it can be a pain to use them.

[Q] Wi-Fi Direct - Application needed

Anyone succeeded transferring files (photos, videos or any other file types) using Wi-Fi direct without using any third party software on both devices?
*** Bump ***

What a pity!
Apperenly no one used the Wi-Fi Direct?
I saw a big cry out in XS forum from people for this feature, but here no one seems to be using it

unfortunatelly wifi direct no working
I've succesfully sent music over the computer and Phone with wifi, not using any apps whatsoever.
You can do it with OfficeSuite WiFi Direct. Install OfficeSuite on both phones, then use the Share menu to send files over WiFi Direct with OfficeSuite.

I've officesuite that came with the phone pre-installed. But when I try to share via Wi-Fi Direct, I don't see any share option to do so. But the connection between the device is successful.
I don't quite understand, why does this require an app? Isn't this a native Android feature?

I'm not talking about computer to phone. That isn't Wi-Fi direct.

Yes. It works (shows in the share) after I opened the OfficeSuite once.
But why is this feature requires an app? Isn't this an standard Android feature? No common built-in share application?

There is no built-in sharing over WiFi Direct in Android. Might come later though.

Sorry, so what Samsung has implemented is their own method, which is why I'm not able to share with Samsung device via Wi-Fi direct, right?

Bro, I know we can transfer via few other ways. Wi-Fi direct has one of the fastest transfer rates and more over trouble-free if it can work.
I'm talking about couple of gigs video files to transfer from one device to another on the go! Any suggestions without third-party software?

Without 3rd party m not sure if its possible right now but try this: SUPERBEAM WiFi Direct (Click here for Marker Link)
With this you can simply scan the bar code and transfer huge data (I tried photos) - let me know !!

[Windows 7] Way to find large files / folders

My HD is starting to get a bit too full for comfort. Does anyone know of a free utility or way to find out what the largest files and folders are and delete them? I'm looking for something similair to ES File Managers SD Card Analyst. I thought Explorer might work, but it doesn't sort folders by size, only files. Many thanks in advance.

It seems like it might work. If I could figure out how to use it for what I wanted. At this point it just seems to be a slower Windows Explorer.

Do a Google search for treesize free. It takes a while to calculate the size of the folders, but everything will. There's no quick way to do it.

Thank you guys. I'm trying Teesside first. If that doesn't work as I would like, I'll give WinDirStat a try. Thanks for the help.

[Q] Best Way to Backup or Transfer Files?

A couple of days ago my phones free space got down to 1.5GB and I figured I should back it up to free some space. What a pain it turned out to be!
As most of you know we can only transfer as MTP and PTP and I presume this is where most of the problems come from..
1. File identification is slooooww.
2. transfer time literally freezes at the initial transfer to my HDD. making it impossible to drag and drop another set of files
3. I dont believe all of the files were discoverable (aka hidden)
Please post any and all methods/apps/MODS etc. that may help in this kind of process! Thank you.
p.s. I am using Windows 8

I've found it easiest to take out the MicroSD card and put it in an adapter and put it in my laptop or desktop and push files to and from it. Works a TON faster than using the USB cable to the phone.
Assuming everything is on the external SD card.
For anything internal, adb root, then adb pull everything you want. (Make sure the phone is plugged into the original AC charger - it's going to take a while if you pull a lot of files.)
1.5GB left? And I thought I was a software junkie. I still have 23GB free (internal), and there's still loads of stuff I installed to find out why someone was having a problem and haven't uninstalled yet.
For me i only use cabe conection to use odin. For transfearing files i use mmc card reader. Very easy.

Okay. But what if I want to transfer directly from the internal memory? I only just put in an mSD card since the phone got full. Do you push everything from internal to SD then take the SD out and put it in a PC?

I posted a similar question. I used an app called USB switcher on my original Note. I'm waiting to see if it's compatible with the Note 3.

Try this instead.
Install folder sync and set up an account for your network drive via smb or cifs....
Then create folder pair between your account and your sdcard, with your desired sync settings.
Then use Tasker to initiate the folder pair.
This is how i do it and it works great
