Nexus 7 as trusted Bluetooth device? - Moto X Q&A

I've been trying to get my nexus 7 to work as a trusted Bluetooth device, but it just isnt working. Anyone know why and anyone tried this?

It has to be an active connection. Another phone or tablet is a passive connection. Smart watches, radios, keyfobs etc work.

Touchless Control, OK Google Now

I really like my new Moto X but touch less control has been disappointing. I'm batting about 60% on activating Google Now.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Did you "train" the phone to your voice? Or does it even requires it?

I've trained the phone multiple times. Touchless control will not work when the phone is on deep sleep. Works OK otherwise.

Go into the "Assist" app, select "Driving" and make sure 'Resume Music Play" isn't checked off
It works perfectly for me. Just one silly question: how do I get the phone to greet me with my name instead of simple good morning or good afternoon? Where is the setting for the greeting phrase? Thanks!

Wifi direct is not enabled - from HTC support

I asked how to use wifi direct. Here's their response:
" I understand your concern on the WiFi direct file transfer and the icons on the status bar. Currently the Wi-Fi direct function is not available, but will be enabled in a future upgrade. Until the update is available, you are still able to share files using Bluetooth."

Have it, used it, discovered that it won't work without a network connection - you know, wifi direct.

I've been able to use Superbeam without a WiFi connection, but it was a bit slower. Just answer "no" to the question about being on the same WiFi network.

No internet, will it work?

So I have no internet at my house and I been using my phone to tether to my computer. I'm about to pick up a nexus 7 for cheap, and I was wondering if I hotspot my phone and have the chrome / tablet connect to it. Would I be able to play my Netflix on my tablet and shoot it to the chromecast

I've read in other threads that this method should work. Your phone is basically the wireless router.

How to enable bluetooth tether on Stock-ROM?

I know that installing custom-ROM (ie. null) enables bluetooth tether.
But for some reason, I prefer to stay in stock-ROM and I want to use bluetooth tether by modding system(or...3rd-party app?).
Q. How can I enable bluetooth tether on stock-ROM(rooted)?
(Kernel? Binary? Library? Framework?)

You need to add the Bluetooth internet profile
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
So...How can I add it?
I'm using Google Nexus 5 and I don't have any tethering restriction on phone.
Adding full-settings app on system app doesn't work. It show the checkbox for bluetooth internet, but its not working.

Hotspot using 5GHz cannot be seen

Hi,
I tried to enable hotspot with 5GHz band, all seem to be normal, but my laptop and another phone just cannot see it. If I use 2.4Ghz, all my devices can see it. The laptop and another phone can see other 5ghz Wi-Fi so no problem on them.
Anyone has success? I am on Android 7. I remember it works on Android 6.

165 should work with a us and eu phone, keep in mind it's a 5ghz channel and not all devices support 5ghz, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels
