hi,i am using nokia lumia 720,i have xperia s too,i want to send my whole contacts to my xperia using bluetooth.but there is no option for to send.contact transfer is not working.it retrieves contacts from my xperia.is there any option to back up contacts to pc.
1. Turn on BT
2. Open contact to send
3. Tap menu (three commas - down, right corner)
4. Select "Share contact"
how to send whole contacts,i don't wanna send one by one...
You should better sync your contacts with cloud service(GoogleContact/Outlook)then you won't need to transfer data between phone again, just sync your phone to the service and your contacts will sync automatically, however, there's Nokia 's app called Transfer my Data which you can export contact to SD card.(I don't know that is there an option in the app that can transfer contacts via Bluetooth or not.) Import contact files to Google contact then sync your phone to your Google account.

If you want to get contacts on an Android phone, there are Android apps to do that (just as there are WP apps to pull contacts from other phones).

Just go to contact name and go to share option by bluetoooth after switching on your bluetooth. Contcat is being transferred by a link in lumia phones.

I've over 300 contacts in my other phone SE P990i, I'm trying to copy them to the X1, is there anyway that i can copy them without using the Outlook? i tried to back-up them and then send the back-up file to the X1 but it always fail,, i tried sending the same file from my P990i and from my laptop,, same result..
Use Bluetooth?
I would try bluetooth a bit laborious but far quicker than manually enterring all your contacts again.
Cant you just save them in your SIM card and then transfer them to your xperia ?

You just can save a name and a phone number on a SIM card, I'm sure he wants adresses, EMail, birthdays and so on copied too.
I copied everything with the storage card because both phones use microsd.
Bluetooth should be possible too.
i did that,, but i dnt see any of my SIM contacts in my X1,, do i have to do sumthing in the sittings to show contacts from the SIM ?

Just open the CONTACTS and then choose MENU and SIM MANAGER. Then you can see everything that lies on the SIM-card

Just sync your P990 with Microsoft Outlook and the sync Outlook with your Xperia.
And, please, leave my private messages for private messages only
I had the same issue. Bought my new X1 a few days ago. Had loads of contacts on my N95 Symbian phone. Bluetooth was laborious and I didn't have access to Outlook.
In the end, I used Google Sync. Worked fantastic.

it does not support Sony P990i how to backup contact from that to x1 using google sync :S or any other software ....
If both phones use Windows Mobile, you can use PIM Backup to backup and the restore your contacts. PIM Backup will also restore your ring tone settings for each contact (not the tone itself). Plus a few other things.
As the subject indicates...
I have'nt noticed that i only had activated "showing LG PC suit contacts"
But i dont wanna use this, i wanna use the standard google one... but i see that all contacts stored after using this phone has not been synced to my gmail account..
Could anyone help me out?
I think this was raised in a random thread before.
The LG contacts only sync with the LG PC suite on your PC.
I don't think that once you have saved a contact as an LG contact you can change sadly. Only way is to select googlemail contact when setting up a new one and then copy / delete etc.
Pain in the backside
There might be a way though I haven't tried it out. You can Export all your LG PC Suite contacts using the Menu>Import/Export option in contacts
Then on your computer log in to your gmail and use the Import Contacts option in gmail to get the contacts from your SD card on to the gmail account
Delete all the LG contacts
Sync with the google account
Let us know if it works for you

Yes this is the right way. Bear in mind though that if you do that you no longer have the ability to sync with PC Sync. Pc Sync will show you that you do not have any contacts in your phone.
Thx guys... i'm not even sure why we need PC sync anymore...
I'm not a fan of synching contacts to the cloud. I've only tried Google as I accidentally forgot to disable it. I have around 200+ contacts locally (phone only) . But when I export it to sd for backup, it's synching 800+. I'm guessing somewhere, either Facebook, Skype or viber copied some data over (my fault maybe) .
Is there a way I coul remove all the synched data and just leave the local contacts?

I'm not sure what your question is, if you want to remove contacts from your backup before importing, or if you want to remove contacts from gmail, or just prevent then showing on your phone, so here are a couple of answers.
To only display locally stored contacts enter the contacts app, press menu, Display Options (may have to select "more..." first) and tick the boxes for what kind of contacts you want to display. (Local=PC Suite)
To remove contacts from the exported file just edit it in a proper editor like notepad++ or notepad2, it's a regular text-file.
To prevent the phone from syncing contacts enter Settings/Accounts and Sync., enter each type of account and untick contacts.
To delete contacts in the cloud the easiest way is to log on to the service, i.e gmail/facebook/skype/twitter on a computer and delete them from there, alternatively select to only display that service's contacts on your phone, then delete them all one by one (while sync. is still on).
I was looking for a way to prevent non-local contacts into the Vcf file.
I'll go with editing the vcf and just restore from there. Thanks

Hi, since i have a question about "contacts" i thought i should just use this thread instead of making a new one.
All my contacts are saved on my SIM card but when i put my SIM in my phone, go to Contacts > Import from SIM then it says "No contacts on your SIM card". Is there a way to get my contacts to show up or will i have to add them all again . Thanks.
YES I am sure this question gets asked a lot of times so I am sure by now people have come up with a GREAT answer for it instead of just telling me to use google.
Trust me I have used Google. I find Apps like
Backup Contacts
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.uia.android.backupcontacts&hl=en
which gets bad reviews and doesn't really seem to work.
I find a guide on how to save your contacts to your SIM card but it only seems to work on the Nexus S.
So here is what I want to do:
I use a Galaxy S (i-9000) and I want to save my contacts to my SIM card or a file I can copy on my PC and copy it on other android devices OR save all my PHONE contacts to my google account if that is somehow possible because I want to buy a NEW android phone (that's why I guess Samsung's Kies with the option to back up contacts won't do the trick)
I am looking forward to any help.
Thanks a lot!
I think the simplest way to backup contacts is to go the Contacts, or People on ICS, and press the menu button (bottom left on phone). From there go to import/export contacts, then it asks where you want to import/export them to. It creates a file on your phone storage that you can copy to your PC/new phone.

When I go to Contacts - Import/Export - Export to SIM card : it says "No contacts" and "search contacts" so it seems like I would have to export each contact by HAND. I can't find any way to select all and EXPORT all???
original rom?
using Go Contact will do...

It imports all my e-mail contacts from my Google account as well. How do I do it so that only people with phone numbers get imported?

Anybody got a solution as to how I can prevent importing contacts from my SIM card whereby all my Google e-mail contacts get sucked in there too?

Download my phone explorer for android app and the my phone explorer program for your PC, connect by Wifi, USB or Bluetooth and make a backup of all your contacts, sim contacts, calendar entries etc.
I've been using this tool since 2006 (it was originally developed for Sony Ericsson phones) and it allowed me to switch from my Z710i to my W595 and from there to my Desire, back to the Z710i and then to the SGS+.
It saved me so much hassle and I did not hesitate to donate to its developer. It is a superb tool (yes, I really like. He does not pay me for this post).
Help me please ! need serious help !
Is there anyway to migrate all contacts on my Galaxy Ace S5830 to N*K*A Symbian S60v3?
I have tried several ways to migrate it using KIES, MyPhone Explorer, MobileGo or using Backup Contact Apps on my android to Ovi Suite, PC Suite, but Ovi Suite & PC Suite can't read my backup contact file or exported contact file. So until today i still stuck on it. :crying::crying:
Maybe anyone knows how to migrate / copy it?
Possibly there is a software that can help?
Thank You Very Much

My Nokia Suite 3.8.30 doesn't "see" my vcf files (single one or multiple). I wanna import contacts from Gmail to my old Nokia E50.
Did you notice something like that?

"nokia pc suite"
You'll have to sync your contacts on your android phone..
After that there are two ways to send contacts..
1. Send your contacts using Share via Bluetooth option in the Contacts app itself..
Or
2. Copy all your contacts to your sim card and then place the sim card in the other phone and retrieve them.
What a bunch of morons here. Export contacts to your SIM card & use this SIM in the Nokia phone. That's all. Of course, some numbers might be lost.
