Read #1 under troubleshooting in the tutorial thread. You were not on the 7.2.3 bootloader. I'm sorry I can't help much though since I don't know French

Thank you anyway
But I want a little more specific : (
You need a fastboot cable to fix it. You just need to flash the boot loader to an older version but it requires a fastboot cable since you are stuck on a red screen.

I need to buy that? EarlyBirdSavings 3ft USB au câble USB Micro Factory pour Amazon Kindle Fire Motorola Xoom Téléphones
Here is my cable Amazon Kindle Fire 5ft USB to Micro-USB Cable (works with most Micro-USB Tablets)
In France I do not think it to fastboot cable
Fastboot cable is aftermarket cable to force kindle into fastboot, without this cable you are stuck

You need to by a fastboot cord or just buy a tip for your standard USB cord http://shop.teamblackhat.info/Factory-Adapters-motadapt.htm
Instructions to make a fastboot cord here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207122
Use this tool to restore to factory defaults using this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
While you are waiting for your cord to arrive, download the SDK package so you can run ADB and fastboot commands. Here is a video tutorial which you may not understand but it still has some some visual learning to it too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaNM-lt_aHw
Keep in mind that a red screen is considered a hard brick and your tablet may not be normal again.

I just bought a HTC Vivid and am trying to root but I cannot unlock the bootloader. I am doing everything according to HTCdev.com but when I get to the CMD part it will not send the code. I copy and paste it just like it tells me to but instead of sending the code, it says waiting for device? Me and this guy (more experienced than me) have been stumped for the last 3 days.
are you using the cord that came with the phone? what operating system is the computer you are trying to use? are you plugged into a usb on the back of the motherboard? And if you are in hboot what does it show on your screen?

No but I am using a Samsung cord with USB capabilities. I have windows 7. Yes I am plugged into the USB port on my phone. It shows "FASTBOOT USB"
Try the original cord and a different port. May also check you have the right drivers installed

I have HTC Sync drivers installed and I'm not sure where I can get a oem cord. Really don't to spend money and buy one on the internet. I have also tried all the usb ports on my computer. My computer is a Gateway NV55S03u if it helps.
Reinstall or install android SDK and make its working perfectly that is your problem.

When you boot into bootloader mode, and choose Fastboot, then connect your phone to the PC USB, run "fastboot devices" to see if the phone is recognized. It should return a line with some info... should look almost like this:
{

}
If it returns nothing, then maybe you just need to reinstall the drivers (as said above).

I had downloaded the wrong android sdk files. I downloaded jelly bean when I needed ICS. Now I'm installing the ICS files. I will let you know if it works.
I am using the HTC One Toolkit but when I select the "Get Token ID" option, I am taken to the bootloader but I get the following message on my laptop...

I installed the correct drivers and have even followed this post with no luck. I also tried different USB cables but no luck there. I even formatted my laptop, re-installed windows 8 and installed all the correct drivers. But nothing seems to be fixing this issue.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
P.S. I have 4 USB ports and they all say "SS" above them (with one saying "SS" with a lightning icon next to it), so I'm not sure if they're USB 3.0 or 2.0.

If the USB ports are blue then they're USB 3 and which may be the cause of the problem you're experiencing.... SS probably means superspeed which is USB 3

So I've root so many phones with no issues.. I don't know why rooting this kindle seems to be an issue for me.
I did manage to root it, I wanted to install CM Rom, and thought I had to install some boot loader I found on the forums. I didn't get to the poin where I uploaded the CM Rom to install yet. Now after it shows the KindleFire logo, it goes right into a red/orange screen.
I bought a fast boot cable, when I plug it in all I get it a screen that say's Fastboot and a image of a green and red traffic light with the green traffic light blinking. What do I need to do at this point?

The picture indicates that the windows drivers aren't installed correctly.
If the device doesn't charge at ac charger it could be damaged.

Hello
I have hardbricked my KFHD 7" by flashing a bootloader meant for the original Kindle Fire. No button responses, NOTHING. So I opened the back cover and tried the USB Boot shorting trick. This worked and it was recognized as OMAP44xx USB Device on my Linux PC.
I downloaded and compiled OMAP4boot from https://github.com/swetland/omap4boot and ran it as follows:
Code:
sudo ./usbboot aboot.bin
with the device unplugged. Once it reached this point:
Code:
waiting for OMAP44xx device...
I plugged it in, and this is what happens:
Code:
[email protected]:/home/ryan/Downloads/omap4-usbboot-precompiled/out/panda# ./usbboot aboot.bin

ANY help appreciated

HELP !!!
Any update on this? I have a kindle tate-pvt-08 with the same problem. I had read on a different thread that the shorting trick would only work for the kindle fire hd 1st gen, and not this device. Apparently the OP has been able to atleast get the device detected as the omap device? Is this really possible? Or do I now have a paperweight?

It's is detected but no luck. You will need a Linux machine to attempt anything further.
