Dear friends i need some help
My phone is getting heated unusually while i browse the internet, watching movies and also while charging the phone also.
1. I tried many of AOSP ROMs (CM 10.1 and 10.2,MIUI, Dirty Unicorns, PAC) but could not solve my problem.
2. So two days before i flash the stock firmwares and and installed ExsitenZ ROM (Rooted and i have unlocked boot loader) and be with it for a day (I watch a movie for 20 mints for a try and no unusual heating was observed and no heating observed while charging but could not test while browsing.)
3. So i thought my problem was over (And i really want AOSP ROM and I was in really hurry to install AOSP) and then today morning i flashed slim ROM, and i play a movie for 20 mints and no heating, but while i browse the web there is a minimal heating and now while charging the phone it overheat the phone.
I have set my CPU at 1.6 and use On demand governor in slim ROM.
I think i have done some stupid thing, in early days when i flashing stock based ROMs i always used to format my entire SD card (Internal). I format system, data, and SD card. Is this a problem with my phone by loosing some sort of a inbuilt thermal controlling application.
I have downloaded another TFT file and hope to flash this and use stock ROM as my daily OS, since this is the only option i have now.
Dear friend can someone be kindly explain what has gone wrong and possible solutions for the over heating issue. (I uses back cover in my phone)
What is "Overheating" to you?
My SP gets up to 50 C when playing Ingress. Thats the battery temperature. Even with Real Racing 3 easily rises to 45 degrees. 52 its the maximum I've ever seen in the SP

Now, While charging it is only 36% but the problem is there is no such heat on stock ROM.There is some unusual heat in my phone now. :crying:
Any way i will play a hard weight game for the 15 to 20 min will update the temperature.
Thanks for early reply.:good:
Weather temperature: 18c, maybe up to 23 inside my car. This is how hot my SP gets while playing Ingress. CPU temp (Red arrow) get over 50 degrees while the battery (yellow arrow) feels hotter at over 44.

well... I think is "normal" is it got stuck at boot or restarted itself... that "normally" happen when flashing another rom: you have a #% when doing TitBu and those stuff then you flash a rom and when finally bootup you got [usually] -#% and since it was from boot to boot it can't get the correct graph... or at least thats what I think
not normal i think... i've seen thing like this once - with older version of Zeus (don't remember which one exactly). When i had SoD, after i remove battery (warmer than usual) and put it back, the graph was similiar.
its either a self boot or an sod.... ive experienced alot of these myself =P.... the screen goes black then when you press the power button repeatedly goes very bright then it reboots then the battery chart gets cut off like that.....
for my part i think its mostly cos i install and uninstall alot of apps (even those that are not supposed to work for our ob) so im pretty sure its not a rom problem cos i dont see anyone else talking about it....
i posted sometime back on another thread abt my phone always losing 3g and rebooting itself (after what seems like the 3g hangs) but that problem, (although not for its intended purpose) has been solved for me by using the FD off patch that Huexx posted for his rom.
it could also be (im guessing here) due to not clearing old data (ie battery charge levels) after flashing a different rom... i read somewhere that someone has an almost similar problem coming from froyo to custom rom. something about the battery charge remembers the charge and discharge levels from the prev rom and cannot charge/ discharge properly with the new rom causing the erratic power levels.... its something like... in your picture, shows that it rebooted at 90% and went to abt 80% cos in actual fact you have used your battery to 80% just that the system failed to update this in the background hence it forced itself to reboot to get the proper reading again... again for this last part im really guessing....
by the way my phone has not any problem sod fc or restarting etc. everything is normal except battery graph.
Hello folks,
Yesterday i finally became tired of the ridiculous battery life my phone was geting in official 4.3 rooted. I tried another kernels, uninstalling facebook, facebook messenger (those are said to drain battery) and finally i saw something that was the cause: ~30% of battery usage was by Android System, aka samgung included apps. I installed some ROM without those samsung bloats and seems like the battery is normal again (like it was with 4.1.2). I'm still testing and would be awsome if someone else can get a lot more battery life without those samsung apps and be happy again, like me.
By the way, i installed THIS ONE, but i'm almost sure any 4.3 stock rom without those excluded apps will be fine.
BEFORE: Overnight i had ~4% of battery drain with EVERYTHING turned off, wifi, gps, everything!
NOW: Last night i had ~3% of battery drain with wifi and data ON!
Weird isn't? I think our phone had a very bad OTA this time. Share your experiences! Hope you all get a better battery with this
world wide web says 4.3 OTA across all models has a negative battery defect.
did you root directly from android 4.3?

Reporting:
Right now, my battery level is 40%. Phone is on 1day and 5hours, moderate use. Here is my usage:
WIFI always on yesterday since 3:00pm, switched it off about 12:30 am.
About 12:40 am i switched mobile data on. Mobile data was on til 9:00 am, then i switched all toogles off.
Turned on WIFI AND mobile data about 4:00 pm and until now its all switched on except GPS.
When battery reached something like 5% i will update the post.
Reporting 2:
Now my battery level is 5%, here is my usage since last report. Something i didnt said earlier is that im usimg agni kernel 3.3, cause boeffla caused me random reboots. Using zzmoove as governor and everything else with default values:
WIFI on til midnight, hear some music before this on phone speaker
Switched all off on sleep, at this time (12:40 am) battery level was about 26%
Today turned WIFI on about 9:00 am listening music and browsing
Bellow are screenshots of battery stats today

I think that showing that the phone is awake during charging is normal. It does it on my phone, running OOS5.0.1.
Sent from my OnePlus3T using XDA Labs

@alsayed are you charging with original Dash charger and cable? What about the temperature of the phone, does it feel hot or warm?
hello everyone, here is my problem - in last couple of week i'm having really big battery problems (to the point i'm thinking of smashing my phone to the ground ) I take my P9 of the charger and it says it is at 100%, after only few min it drops to about 90%, and when i open some app (facebook atc) it freezes and when i try to turn it on again it says 0% battery!! when i hook it up on charger it takes 20 mins to charge to 1%, and when i turn it on again it says anywhere between 40% and 100%!!! Freezing most commonly appears when i turn on my camera and take a picture, it snaps then freezes. Tried with the factory reset it didn't help.
Please anybody!!!
Most likely the battery has worn out. Is it still under warranty?
Same here, sometimes camera apps freeze and then i will reboot it. After reboot, phone shows 5% power and then force itself into shutdown. The battery actually may not empty as told by phone, when i start charging, it shows more than 5% and phone actually have juice to run longer.

Sounds like a battery replacement to me. Have to tried installing AccuBattery or anything similar to check the battery health?

It's not the battery causing this fault

I have replaced the battery in my P9 and it still gets a power drain when the camera is operated. This usually occurs in low light environments. If I immediately turn the phone back on it starts up with maybe 20% battery, which then drops 1% a second and gets hot. This is with a brand new battery fitted. I conclude there is a glitch with updated software. Hopefully Huawei will read these posts and correct with future updates.

Not the battery
Try removing your sd memory card. I think a malfunctioning sd card was causing issue of battery drain during camera use. I can't explain the full science behind this, but my p9 phone has been fine since I removed the sd
I've had my SM-T810 (Tab S2 9.7, wifi) for four or five years now. A year ago, half of the screen began flashing brightly if I tried to use it on low brightness. To solve this, I turned up the brightness a bit and used the app Darker.
Over the last few weeks, things got much much worse. The tablet required more and more brightness to avoid flashing, it would stutter when playing videos, and responsiveness was slow. Every so often it would lose WiFi connection when my other devices didn't have trouble connecting.
Today, there has been some type of catastrophic failure. I was watching a video, when suddenly the video stuttered, froze, and the tablet became completely unresponsive. None of the buttons worked at all. It would not turn off. After about 15 minutes, the screen began its old flashing routine...and then something new happened: the flickering was joined by colorful lines, and about five minutes later the tablet shut itself off. It had become quite warm around the volume rocker/card slot area.I can't turn it back on, but if I plug it in, it shows the battery percentage. The tablet has never gotten wet, and it hasn't been dropped recently. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Is the battery indicator dimmer than normal? Normally I would just assume at least the screen is bad, but since the charging indicator seems to work? Perhaps you should try download mode? Odin over fresh firmware? (You will lose data on the tablet though)
No, the battery indicator doesn't seem dim. I'll have to try your suggestions. I'm starting to think the motherboard is bad, and that would help me determine if it is or not.

Maybe some files in EMMC corrupted? Then if ODIN works it might get it back to life.
