Hi guys please Help me!
I tried installing the Google play 4.4 version on HTC one today half way through install I knocked it off my desk and the phone seem to restart and go to a blue screen with lines on it, for split second Google appeared then went back to the blue screen.
I know I havent damaged the phone physically as the phone can still get into revcovery and is still functioning there however I can't seem to find anything to get me to restore back to stock or anything.
Code:
(bootloader) version: 0.5

(bootloader) battery-voltage: 4197mV

Heres the results from HTC One Toolkit, can anyone help me get my phone back up and running?!
Thanks Matt
~edit forgot to mention I panicked original and tried restoring the orignal rom back on so ended up locking the bootloader and trying to install stock

First, remove IMEI and s/n from your post, we dont need to see those.
Second, plenty of options for you to get a ROM onto your phone (your bootloader is unlocked, right):
1- OTG cable
2- adb push
3- adb sideload
4- worst case: run an RUU.EXE: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
(need to be locked for that if S-On)
5- use revone to get s-off on hboot 1.44

or run the RUU.exe I linked

I'm in the same boat, how'd it go?
I am guessing if the build.prop can't be read, main-ver doesn't show up?

mainversion in fastboot getvar reads it directly from the misc partition (mmcblk0p19 on the M7_U/UL), not from build.prop. so even if you have no OS installed whatsoever, it should still show you a version number.
Thats interesting to know, thanks.. That RUU should fix it however

hey mate, how's it going
there's a tool for the mainversion too; if you're interested: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2526154
never used it, so no clue if it's any good. (did have a look at the source code though and it just writes whatever you want (10 digits, if i remember correctly) to the misc partition.)

Hi guys, Noob-alert! Please let me know if I'm in the wrong place here.. I don't want to annoy you guys.
I got a HTC One from a friend that he bricked, at least that's what he thinks. I said I might be able to find out more and I got the phone into the bootloader with the bright light and all that.
Since I have no idea where to start and what kind of ROM's and other stuff the guy has used, I'd like some proper guidance into getting this phone into original condition, if that's still possible. He used this phone with a Canadian Rogers plan.
Oh yeah, Recovery doesn't work. It reboots and gives me the phone icon with the red "!" triangle.
Is factory reset a good start?

I'm not 100% sure but when entering recovery you select recovery then have to press and hold power and volume up and you should then get yellow text at the bottom of screen about sd card or something similar then it'll open recovery
sorry cant be more help

Recovery does work, that's just stock recovery you have on the phone. Once in the red triangle screen press volume + up and or down to enter recovery. You might have to try this a few times..
Your phone is also re locked so you need to unlock it from htcdev. Just follow the instructions. . Can you post a fastboot getvar all please.

Your friend seems to have installed the US Google edition rom on the phone..
To get back to stock rogers use this RUU
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_..._10-38r-1157-04l_release_351317_signed_2-exe/
If you prefer another rom. Go to htcdev and get an unlock code and follow the instructions. Once unlock you can fastboot a recovery for your phone. I recommend TWRP 2.6.3.3.. but one step at a time.. What would you like to do

You sir, are my HERO! Thank you so much, it's back to stock now and works great.
A new question: It's asking for a SIM network unlock PIN which probably means that i''s SIMlocked. I don't have a Rogers SIM so I need to get that unlocked.
The actual question; how can I get rid of the lock without having to pay for it? (I found some websites that can provide you a code and stuff like that.)
I'm willing to root/flash and stuff like that.. but I need a clear guide so I don't screw up.

I haven't tried this yet since I first wanted it back to the original state.
So I found out that my question was pretty dumb. Apparently I can only get it unlocked with a code. Which created a new question:
Will my phone get any regular HTC One future updates when it's unlocked? Maybe another dumb question, but well..
What sim carrier are you with. Your Rogers phone will still get the updates providing you have not modified it, ie installed custom recovery or custom Rom.
It will still receive updates and even download them with just a custom recovery installed, it just won't apply them.

@Maurix-NL Edit 2: Everything is fine now, you can proceed with these files and instructions.
Edit: Wait a minute, I,ve linked the wrong firmware file. I'll get back to you in a few minutes...
Download this file, this file and this one save them in the same folder where you already have adb and fastboot on your computer.
First, you'll have to update your firmware so your phone can accept the latest Rogers RUU:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip Firmware_7.17.631.52.zip
fastboot flash zip Firmware_7.17.631.52.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
and finally flash the Rogers RUU:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
htc_fastboot flash zip PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_Rogers_WWE_7.17.631.52_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_460206_signed_2_4.zip

htc_fastboot.exe (that particular version) is needed at least to flash the RUU. Its a modded version of Google's fastboot.exe made by HTC because Google's fastboot can't handle files as large as this RUU (Lollipop RUU are larger than the previous versions and must now be flashed with htc_fastboot.exe).

So I move the 3 files in the fastboot folder I currently have, right? When do I use the HTC exe? Or will that automatically be used when I run those commands?
Sorry about all the questions. I don't want to mess things up.
Hello everybody, hope everyone is having a better day than I am. I will try to keep this short but I am more than happy to provide more details as they are needed.
I picked up a replacement HTC One (ATT) after a warranty claim for a bad speaker and I immediately rooted it. After rooting the phone and before flashing a custom rom it started rebooting itself every couple of minutes. I went ahead and flashed a custom rom (many to be honest) and the phone booted up just fine, however, the phone would not recognize the sim card. I tried the sim card in a different phone and it worked fine. Then, with the sim card replaced, all of a sudden the phone worked for about 30 minutes. After that it started rebooting itself at will every couple of minutes. I decided that i must have flashed a bad file or something so i decided to go back to stock with RUU.exe. I locked the bootloader and ran the .exe from my laptop (windows 7) Now my phone i "relocked" and the RUU flashed a recovery that I can not get into. My boot screen now reads this
***relocked***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.55.0000
RADIO-4A.19.3263.13
OpenDSP-v31.120.274.0617
OS-3.17.502.3
eMMC-boot 2048MB
(date and time)
this is the RUU.exe I loaded
RUU M7 UL JB43 SENSE50 MR Cingular US 3.17.502.3 Radio 4A.19.3263.13 10.38j.1157.04 Release 334235 Signed 2 - HTC1Guru
Now when I start my phone it loads to the ATT screen with the globe, sometimes plays the chim, and then goes to a white screen with the green HTC. after about a minute it reboots and loads to the exact same spot. It will do this until I enter the bootloader and power it down
I don't know what to do anymore as I have read about a thousand threads and I am getting confused on what the next step should be. I would greatly appreciate a point in the right direction.
Although the POS phone I am using with a modified sim card holder is pretty awesome
Thanks in advance
Get ATT to replace to it again?
there is more back story that I did not go into and i don't know if I can get it replaced again.
Now when I turn on the phone it loads to the initial start up screen where it ask to set up my account and set up wifi. but agian after a minute or so it just reboots and loads to about the same spot and then restarts.
I still think this is fixable
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks
What software version are you on now? I'm not near a computer but my first thought is that because you are s-on, you can not run an RUU that is older than your current version. So if you are on KitKat now, you can't run a Jelly bean 4.3 ruu.
You would need to be s-off in order to do that.

another question...Now that I have a relocked bootloader can I try to rerun the RUU.exe file? I will check my getvar this evening to find the correct RUU but just don't know if this will work with a locked bootloader and no recovery.

Sure will work as long as RUU is same level as your phone
I would try re-running the RUU. Sometimes they don't do everything correctly. But done right, it should wipe your phone of any custom software and take you back to clean stock.

What about factory reset from bootloader?
42 22435958
Well I tried to RUU.exe again and now the phone will load to the setup. I went through that, but it is not recognizing my sim card. I can sign on to wifi which works and I can navigate the homescreens. after about 2 minutes the phone reboots itself and the whole cycle happens again. i tried to do a software update but with out the sim card being recognized it says Network not available. the signal bar has an "X" and it does not recognize when I try to remove the sim card to reposition it.
should I try a different RUU.exe file? Thanks for all the help, I think we are getting close. One thing I think is strange is when I ran getvar all, it has a strange line I noted it below. Anybody know what this means?

really, thats it? No mas htc one for me?
So am I the proud owner of a BRICK?
I'm new to the HTC One and I almost didn't know what I was doing, so I messed up really bad.
What did I do:
My friend wanted to try cm11 in his phone, so I unlocked the bootloader, installed cmw 6.0.2.8 and then the cm11 rom. It all went fine, but he realized that a lot of data he had wasn't recovered by Google's backups. so I thought that installing a rom with htc sense we could recover the majority of contacts and other things that he had. So I downloaded and installed this rom:
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2626050
and installed it (wrong rom). When the installation finished, the phone rebooted into bootloader with the 'Active cmdline overflow' error.
I tried different solutions but nothing worked for me.
So, here goes the phone's info: (I got it in RUU mode, I hope it doesn't matter)

I hope someone can help me.

Yes, I alredy tried it, but after installing the noBCB recovery, I still cant access it.
I also searched for nand backups for my CID, but there aren't any. (I don't know if that would even help at all)

nope, nothing will work until you fix that error.
if you carry on reading through that thread you will see that people experiencing that problem have had to downgrade their HBOOT in order to get it to work, unfortunately you need to be s-off to do that, I think one user had success using a certain version of cwm recovery, here you go, try this:

Thanks for helping. I tried it and it still doesn't work. I'll keep searching around the forums to see if I can do anything.
I have a HTC one with Viper Rom I want to go back to 100% stock to sell. I started this process days ago and I think my first step was to lock the bootloader then try to find an RUU to run. That look about 3 days off my life with bootloops until I locked the bootloader again and now have my phone back.
Here are my specs I think the experts will need- can the helpful community here help me get back to stock and direct me what steps to use?

Try this RUU
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407573774
Thanks, I'm pretty sure I already tried that, but maybe I did the wrong steps or wrong order.
Do I just run that RUU ....no relock or anything else first?

You can find the instructions for running the RUU here. But here is a more current RUU which I think will match your hboot 1.57. Follow the instructions in the OP.
Thanks, as I recall I tried exactly those steps and that is how I ended up in a boot loop.
Specifically when I ran the RUU it would complete maybe steps 1 of 5 and I would get an error and the program would stop with error 'htc fastboot.exe has stopped working "
Pretty much no method I tried worked until I relocked the boot loader and voila the phone booted finally.
Notice I have higher boot loop version. Does that matter?

Please remove from your first post your imei and serialno.
You have a higher hboot, and I think you tried to run a RUU of a lower hboot. Since, you are S-ON you can only run RUU with the same or higher hboot, the same or higher OS/version and the CID & MID must match. If these are not met, it will fail. And the bootloader must be LOCKED or RELOCKED.

THANK YOU! Another customer serviced. Every issue I encountered I tried to search the answer, and I never found that RUU I guess. You are lifesaver!
Hi Guys,
I have been reading around the forum but cant seem to find the answer to my problem. Or the suggestions are going over my head, so hope you can help.
I have a stock htc one m7 that is unrooted but it is sim unlocked. Went to bed with the phone working and then woke up with it stuck on the htc boot screen.
Things I have tried:
- get into HBOOT (which i can), then try recovery. This just reboots the phone to the white htc screen or screen just goes off.
- try and hard reset from hboot, but this does the same and either turns the screen black or reboots.
Both times i have left the phone for a while to see if it is up to anything but nothing happens.
I read about clearing the cache, but I could not get my head around the guides I read, so is there an idiots guide (I usually pretty good with tech stuff but not done much to do with phones etc)
Or any other suggestions. I use my phone for work so would be nice to get it working again without wiping it but most of the stuff should be back up anyway.
Thanks
Tom
From what I have tried I guess I should now try and flash the RRU?
The phone is on UKs EE network, as it is not rooted do I need to flash it with their branded rom or not? If so where can I get that from.
Thanks

Yep that's what we wanted, unfortunately there's no ruu for your phone
If you've got warranty on the device I would send it in for repair.
If you don't have warranty you gonna need to unlock the bootloader to do anything with it. If your gonna do it go here www.htcdev.com register an account and go to the Unlock My Bootloader section of the site and follow the instructions to unlock :good:
Ok. I will do that.
So once the bootloader is unlocked, what is my solution? installing a different Ruu? Or installing a different Rom (or are they the same thing)
Thanks

Once your Unlocked you can flash a Custom or Unbranded Stock Rom. To be able to use RUU's you will need to go s-off. As your on hboot 1.57 the only way to s-off is Sunshine app. But this costs $25 to use. So I would just go with flashing a Custom Recovery and ROM for the time being. :good:
Unlocking the bootloader void warranty. If you have none, then proceed. In my opinion, your phone has suffered hardware failure and will not be recoverable, hence warranty.
Thanks
Thanks for the help guys. Turns out its still under warranty which is good news. I know with other custom roms you can use adb to retrive info off the device.
Any chance I can do the same, as most of the stuff is backed up except some photos ( last couple of months worth).
If not Ill get over it but just in case.
Thanks for your help so far.
