I don't think we have a stock rom with German support.
What you could do is replace system apps/frameworks from a RAZR HD XT925 central europe rom/fastboot and add them into our stock Bell ICS you're using (or trying to use).....Essentially porting a German RAZR HD stock to Atrix HD.
Or one of those language apps from the market. I haven't ever used them, but they're supposed to add extra languages to devices...

@skeevydude
i think i have bricked my device as i tried to load an AT&T (MB886_att-user-4.1.1-9.8.0Q-97_MB886_FFW-20-27-release-keys-ATT-US_BuildA.xml) and it stopped in boot.img and since then i tried to go back to the stock on which i was earlier and its not possible as i get this error
"Status:
"Failed flashing process. 1/23 flash partition "gpd_main0.bin -> Phone returned FAIL"
Result:
"FAIL"
and on screen i have this info;
"AP FASTBOOT flash mode (s)

emmc info : size 8gb
device is locked. status code: 0
battery ok
transfer mode:
usb connected
partition (boot)security version downgraded
fastboot Reason :boot failure
usb connected
downgraded security version
update gpt_main version failed
preflash validation failed for gp1 "
i dont really have any idea much about mootorola's, but is it possible that i can do this;
1. unlock bootloader
2. load custom recovery
3. load custom rom
will this work? pls inform! or pls guide me to fix this error!
and how can i keep my phone's battery charged so that i can have enough battery to do all tis steps later?

[Q] Updating a holiday nexus one

Hello, I have a Holiday Nexus one and I'm trying to get froyo on it but it didn't update .
Things I've tried:
1) Calling the support HTC line.. they told me to move the date to a future date and wait a couple days... that failed.
2)I've tried manual updating using the bootloader/recovery method but all the files I've tried I get a corrupt/invalid file
3)I've also tried dialing *#*#CHECKIN#*#* on my phone and waiting.. I've done this everyday since I've had my phone (2 weeks)
The guy at HTC suggested I call AT&T and have them push the update to me but I want to know if there's any other options I have? I will try to call them tomorrow but I've a feeling they're not going to be of much help. Thanks in advance.
Also I saw the thread on this forum but the files were corrupt so maybe I can get a new link or something maybe?
Any help appreciated thanks
Always include:
Carrier: AT&T
Country / Language: US
OS / Browser / build number (if applicable):ERD56C (Holiday Nexus One this is still a 2.1 build)
Holiday Nexus? And you're looking to update? Are you serious?
Boot into fastboot
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot flash recovery <download and put Amon_RA's 1.9.0-alpha here>
fastboot reboot recovery
Download FRF91 stock PASSIMG
Copy to SD card
Install through recovery
Reboot
You're done, wait for 2.2.1 update.
Or instead, just download a custom ROM of your choice, which might prove a much better option.
Whenever you feel you don't like the lock sign, fastboot oem lock

[Q] Flash with stock rom

Hi and thanks for reading my question,
I have an xperia z with french network (SFR) customing. When I'm turning on my phone, there is an SFR's logo appears. How can I flash my phone with original rom ?
Thanks a lot for your help and sorry for my english.
AW: [Q] Flash with stock rom
Grab Flashtool, an unbranded original rom in FTF format and flash it using flashtool.
If youre familiar with Samsung, its the same as flashing tar.md5 with Odin.
Thx, I'm not familiar with Samsung :silly: lol. So if I debrand my phone, don't need to unlock bootloader or root the phone ? I don't want to loose official updates and Bravia Engine 2.
Thx for your help and I extract my original rom for french people who want "SFR" rom.
No, unlocking is not needed. Official FTF's can be crossflashed on branded devices to unbrand them.
You may pull a backup of your current firmware to have it ready to make your phone look like factory fresh. There's tutorials all over the place how to do that, you may ask Google. It basically involves telling PC Companion to "repair" your phone, it will then download the branded firmware from Sony and this file you copy from the download directory and safe it for later. Piece of cake
Superb ! The post could be close. Thx a lot !
I may have to add, I tried to pull a "backup" FTF for my still locked and brand new Z. PC Companion said there is no update available (yet). I find this peculiar as how am I supposed to "repair" my phone if I already ****ed my device up for real? I'll have to have an eye on the topic, hope FTF's will go online in the next couple days.
Has anyone uploaded a stock ROM yet? Couldn't find one.
There's at least one here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2135948
Don't know if it's FTF though and the search is down, I can't search the thread.
Edit: I was wrong. No boyscout-flashable release yet it seems
Edit 2: The one who searches shall find: http://icxperia.com/doomlord/xperia_z/10.1.A.1.350/ I took it from the last post in the above linked thread. Posted by doomlord.
Thanks a lot but is this the proper retail dump or demo build? I read that thread but they said it was demo.
Have you flashed yet? Any solution on how to grab a backup of the vanilla firmware?
Alright, to clone your current firmware:
1. Connect phone while in PC Companion.
2. Where it says at the top "latest version installed", click on that text.
3. In the small message box that pops up, click "repair my phone".
4. You are now in the flashing steps as usual.
5. Proceed until you are given the option to back up.
6. Do as usual.

I dont have it from inside the thread, I browsed the directories Doom linked to and found that FTF in the process. I take it from the build 10.1.A.1.350 that we are talking release, don't know. Doesn't really matter either, unbranded is unbranded.
And I won't flash it, my free device came unbranded. I pay a lot of attention to only getting free, unlockable, unbranded devices.

Are you connecting in USB debug mode when first plugging it in?
Otherwise, no idea.

[Q] razr i problems - fastboot menu

Hi guys, I am having an issue i cant seem to resolve on my razr i. apologies if this has already been covered in another thread (or 10, which is usually the way with these things because nobody reads the other threads) I have been through a load of other threads but cannot seem to resolve my issue so i started my own.
Right, I have switched from iphone to razr and am not stupid when it comes to jailbreaking etc so thought rooting the razr wouldnt be a problem. when trying to root it it failed and i am stuck at the fastboot menu, however, everything on the menu is disabled so i cant use it. i get the usual message:
fastboot reason: flash failure
fastboot max download size: 100mb
usb connected
if i try to use anything on the menu i get the following message:
fastboot menu disabled.
my phone is not unlocked and not rooted. i have barely done anything to it other than install a couple of free apps. i am unable to progress past this screen. the phone is GB and is on 4.0.4
any help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated. again, apologies if this has already been covered, none of the solutions i found were able to resolve my issue. as i said, i had no problems jailbreaking my old iphone, i am a bit of a n00b when it comes to droids...
AW: [Q] razr i problems - fastboot menu
Are you able to run fastboot commands ? Cause in that case you might be able To unlock bootloader and reflash the software .

**edit
ah commands not menu options. not sure how i go about doing that. i am 100% new to droid...

Had the same problem, I used the recommendation in this thread, 5th post and it worked, but afterwards need to re-download apps from PlayStore:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36612151
Follow the instructions exactly - you need the drivers and RSD lite on Windows PC, then connect the phone via usb cable that came with it; and you'll need a full unzip program (cost) so you can move the unzipped files into RSD lite. Get the right flash file though - there's a list in the linked post if you don't want GB retail which I used. Important: this only works for ICS 4.0.4 and don't try to downgrade to an earlier version than what's currently on your phone e.g. v.39 to v.31, for example.
Good luck.
AW: [Q] razr i problems - fastboot menu
If the solution from mervluk does not work (It didn't work for me either) , you should try if you are able to use the fast boot commands .
To do that simply connect your phone to the PC. Then download fast boot , if you do not already have that. It is in the .zip from the RAZR I root thread.
The go to the downloaded folder. There hold shift and perform a right mouse click. Then choose" start a command prompt here "or something similar (don't know how the option is called in English).
Then type in
fastboot reboot
When the phone reboots you might be able to unlock your phone and flash the software.
BUT BE AWARE! YOU WILL LOSE YOUR WARRANTY!!
So you better try the other solution first. This should be your last option.
If you don't know how to unlock the bootloader look in the RAZR I forum or pn me .

Glad about that. This phone can be a bit of a so-and-so. ics is being updated ota to Jelly Bean 4.1.2, which I've avoided so far to keep fm (although not activated on the supplied software). I did succeed with unlocking the bootloader (loose warranty - important) following the whole complicated procedure on Moto's website - but couldn't myself use the shortcuts on here. (Then had to set up again and re-download everything from the PlayStore). It required the Moto-supplied key. I then rooted, though I think the JB ota download unroots again? You can't use RSD lite with JB.
With JB the procedures are different, and a modified JB European (not for use with GB) firmware is now available on another thread which is impressing some posters. But I think just be a bit cautious as there does not appear to be any fix for the "service code corrupt" bootloader error yet. Looks like the options are very restricted whilst no-one understand the interaction between Google Android and the intel atom chipset.
I have a network unlock key from one of the commercial suppliers (cellunlocker.net), but haven't needed to try and use it yet!

[GUIDE] [step-by-step] Make your Lenovo Tablet Yoga 2 830L able to handle voice calls

The issue.
The Lenovo Tablet Yoga 2 8'', sold in Europe with product code 830L, handles Data connection with a SIM card, but does NOT make or receive voice calls.
A similar model, sold outside Europe with code 830LC, is able to make and receive voice calls out of the box (just like a phone)
-> If you bought the tablet in Europe, you can't make calls with it.
The solution
It appears that the model sold outside Europe (830LC), is not only similar but actually identical, hardware-wise, to the European model, ALBEIT with a a different firmware.
Basically, Lenovo took the 830LC tablet and removed the voice calling from the firmware, before selling it in Europe as 830L
-> SO: We are going to flash the 830L and enable the call functionality.
Why would Lenovo remove voice-calling from European models?
If you are puzzled by this - you are not the only one. It seems that there are legal reasons, i.e. Lenovo not having all the licenses to sell voice-calling tablets in Europe.
In any case, it's not the first time: the older Lenovo Yoga tablet (B6000 XX) also had two identical versions, the European one unable to make calls, unless you flashed the firmware. If you have the older model (2013), do NOT follow this guide, search instead for B6000 threads.
What you need
- A Lenovo Yoga 2 Tablet with product code 830L. You can find the model number on the back on the package, or in the "About tablet" section of the Android settings.
Notes:
a) if you have a different Lenovo tablet model, again, DO NOT try this. It will brick your tablet: firmware and tools are different for each model. Look instead for a guide specific to your model.
b) If you have the WiFi only version of the tablet, this process won't work, because the hardware is different.
- A Windows PC or laptop (I tested it on Windows 7)
- A MicroUSB cable
- Some files freely available on the net (read below)
- About half an hour time, if everything is smooth. Several hours or more, if something does not work
IMPORTANT Disclaimer
While this worked fine for me and for others, there is no guarantee that it will work for you.
Lenovo does NOT support this procedure. Your warranty will probably be void. Something can go wrong. You may brick your device if something goes wrong.
This is NOT for you, if:
1. You don't know what a "firmware" is
2. You have never flashed any hardware before
3. You don't understand some of the instructions below.
4. You are not ready to accept the risk of bricking your device.
5. You are not the type of person that has fun with this kind of stuff.
6. You have data on your device that is critical for you, with no backup and no replacement available.
Credits
I did not invent anything here, nor i created any of the files / tools / firmwares etc.
I just assembled info found around the net, mainly on Russian and Chinese sites. Credit to all those people, and to Google Translate

Instructions
Ok, let's roll - here's the steps.
1) download the firmware for the Lenovo Tablet Yoga 2 830LC
a. here's a link to an international version that worked for me, and that will also root your tablet in the process: yadi.sk/d/w5bRAvCdcqCaz
b. if you don't want to root your tablet, there are unrooted firmwares available online, that you can look up. In theory, any firmware for the 830LC should probably work.
c. general rule: when you download something online and flash it on your hardware, use CAUTION. You are handing your home keys. Try to validate the source as much as possible.
2) download the firmware for the Lenovo Tablet Yoga 2 830L (yes, the firmware of *your* tablet. bear with me....)
a. google for this file: YT2-830L_USR_S000067_1410301707_WW21_ROW
b. I don't give a straight link because the one that i have used has disappeared in the meanwhile. I don't want to validate another source that I did not test.
c. btw: if someone has this firmware TESTED and can upload it somewhere, i will update this guide with a straight link.
3) download the flashing tool. Your tablet has an Intel core, so you will need the Intel flashing tool.
a. the file is called PhoneFlashTool, i used the 4.4.4.1 version found here: pan.baidu.com/wap/link?uk=86756550&shareid=735291514&third=0
b. this download page is in Chinese, the download link is the below the file name.
c. if the page does not work, ask google for a different download site: google.com/webhp?q=PhoneFlashTool_4.4.4.1#newwindow=1&q=PhoneFlashTool_4.4.4.1
d. AGAIN: i will update the guide with a straight link in English if someone has one
4) install the flashing tool you downloaded in step 3 (PhoneFlashTool). For me, the tool was clever enough to figure all the needed drivers and set them up.
5) extract the firmwares you downloaded in step 1 and 2, to your local hard drive.
6) now, somewhat tricky part. In the firmware for 830L, find a file called "esp.img". Copy this file over to the file with the same name on the 830LC firmware files.
a. NOTE: I am not sure why this step is needed, but I followed it and it worked for me. If you know more, i will update the guide accordingly.
7) Just to be sure, reboot pc and tablet.
8) Now time to flash. Start the phoneflashtool. The instructions on screen are quite straightforward, but basically:
a. have the phoneflashtool ready and running
b. turn off your tablet and connect it
c. you will need to choose a file called "flash.xml" from the folder where you extracted the 830LC firmware. (click "Browse..." and find the file). This file will guide the flashing tool through the process.
d. when the flashphonetool recognizes your device, press the green "start flashing" button next to the name of your device.
EXTRA: If you have trouble with this part, here's a visual guide to the phoneflashtool: androidxda.com/flash-stock-rom-using-intel-phone-flash-tool
EXTRA2: If your device is not recognized by the phoneflashtool (i.e. , you don't see a green "connected to port X", and nothing happens when you try to flash), try the following:
I. power off your device if it is not off already
II. power on in recovery (press power+volume down together for a few seconds)
II. choose "droidboot" from the menu that appears. You should see a recovery menu in the device screen.
III. check if device is now recognized
e. when the tool starts flashing, let it work for a few minutes, the progress bar will show you that stuff is actually going on
f. when you get the message "done", your device is flashed.
9) if everything went smoothly, you can now disconnect your device and reboot.
10) You should now be able to make calls! you will have a dialer in your default installed apps. And the About in your device settings will now show 830LC as your phone model (instead of 830L)
Let me know if it worked for you.

I suggest that you take a look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2791072&page=16#post56846955
... and / or search the forum for your model number.
important note: I don't know what you are trying to achieve, but please bear in mind that any WIFI version of the tablet CANNOT be flashed to use voice / wireless data. At least as far as i know: the hardware is different.
good luck
you want say that i never cant root this version?
Thank you for taking time and writing this tutorial. it works great. :good:
Also, it might not be a bad idea to add a note to change the tablet's region codes back to your own country, after flashing this firmware.
Cheers

Everything ok, you can flash. Not the fault of root - I always used in air mode and I did not notice when I lost my imei

Ok, correct me if i'm wrong ;
First i need to flash the stock "unrooted" 830LC firmware (Stock YT2-830LC_USR_S050_141113_WW21_ROW) on my "830L" model. (i assume i should still change the "esp.img" with the "830L" firmware ?) --- then i try to do the OTA updates, and see if i still got my IMEI intact, is that it ?

Fix your guide - you do not need to replace esp.img. You can flash entire firmware 830lc.
See my previous post..
1. flash entire stock YT2-830LC_USR_S050_141113_WW21_ROW
2. change region with code ####6020#
3. Update via ota (in total there 2 updates, the last is 095)
4. Flash new rooted system.img only

So , what are your suggestions ? should i flash the new rooted LC firmware that you just posted directly on my already rooted one ? or should i flash the old un-rooted stock one and do the OTA updates and lastly flash the new rooted one ?
Never mind, just saw your last comment.
Will try , and report back.
Much appreciated.

For whatever reason , the only update available to me via OTA is 000094 ! - and after i updated , it says that i have the latest version.
Should i still be flashing the Rooted 000095 version over this stock 000094 one ?

Many thanks,
By the way, do you happen to know what's the difference between 000094 and 000095 ? they both seem to be released on the same date : 19 Dec. 2014.
Maybe a regional update ? or a quick fix to the 000094 update ?
Wouldn't it be better for me to change the region to some place that will give the 000095 update , apply the update and then, flash your rooted 000095 firmware ?

update 095 is 6 mb (without recovery is 1.5 mb. I think things are related to the region). For 095 I chose after the first start the region de, Italian language and time zone +1 Rome

I see, well then for me 000094 it is !
Since it's only a regional update, i'll be using your 000094 rooted one.
Will post the results.
Yup, just flashed your rooted 000094 update, and everything seems to be working fine.
It has root permissions. also, the IMEI is still intact . not that it's surprising, but still.
Already checked for OTA updates, and it says i have the latest version (000094).
So far, so good.
Appreciate you help. :good:

Moto X mobile data not working.. i messed up

Hi. I am in the UK and have the first gen moto x. i was dicking around with roms etc and i ended up accidentally erasing internal storage. I managed to the get the phone back to how it was apart from the fact that it cannot make calls, text, get 3g signal. it is essentially a small tablet. when i use the dialler code to show the imei number it is 0. i tried reinstalling modems etc and none have worked. i have tried differnet roms and even flashing lollipop. I am wondering if the modems files i am using are not working because they are US files and I need some kind of EU file? Idk.
I had my imei written down so i was going to try and change it to that on the phone but engineer tools does not open or even seem to exist on the phone. i cant try using the stock rom etc because it is on a site (something like sbf developers ) that says it is forbidden. i literally have tried everything. can anyone help? :crying:

Hey! If you've installed a US ROM, you are using the wrong baseband files to access your service provider network ( XT1053- US ; XT1052- UK)
Try installing an XT1052 based rom and report back . Also, be careful while flashing your new chosen ROM. Ensure that it does not downgrade / modify your current bootloader as you may end up bricking your phone (since you've upgraded to LP)
Best of luck mate .

Strange . Do elaborate as to what rom you are flashing and which rom you are currently using (The one that has a problem).
Also, are you wiping the system before flashing ?

Hi again. i googled xt1052 rom and found a few. the one i tried was cyanhacker(obviously based on cm). after i got that error i tried editing the updater script to skip over the process in which it checks what device it is on. after that it appeared to flash successfully but when i tried to boot it showed the bootloader unlocked screen, vibrated then restarted and just kept doing that bootloop.

1. Please download the correct ROM for your device from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/official-collection-firmwares-fxz-sbf-t3146628
2. Head over here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-moto-x-return-to-100-stock-using-t2446515 and follow the Instructions. CAUTION: If you decide yourself for manual flashing DO NOT PASTE THIS CODE:
Code:
fastboot oem config carrier vzw
Or you'll end up, like me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/moto-x-qa/carrier-retail-devices-t3174988
In case I could help you with some guidance, I would be happy, if you could help me, in my thread.
//EDIT: Your battery should be on 70% or more, before you try to do anything! Keep this in mind, else flashing could be interrupted!
Kind regards
