[Q] need help with rooting - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

I have an Xperia T its says that the boot loader can't be unlocked but is there still a way to root the phone to put superuser on it.
Its my first android and any help will be appreciated and please direct me to where i need to be.
the build number for the phone its 9.1.A.1.145

Yes, rooting is possible without unlocking the bootloader. Please read the All-in-One thread, all the information is in there. Then, use Doomlord's Easy Rooting Toolkit to root.

I think that the firmware

no its not.
look in build number in settings

ok its this then 9.1.A.1.145

Then make sure usb debugging is enabled and use bin4ry method. Please copy and paste the out put from the installer if it does not work
Sent from my C6903 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

i have tried that and I've picked the standard root and it says "can not mount(are you root)" so I'm going to try the jellybean one

it seems like it stopped working for the jellybean one as nothings changing:

OK number 2 should work....
Have you enabled unknown sources in security?

yes and it didn't work so is there any other root loaders that work on mac as i don't like using my little sisters laptop

hahaha
You never said it was mac
Try a Linux machine, or windows 7

i was on a windows laptop and its not very good and i was asking if there was any mac versions of the root loaders

again,
try linux

i haven't got a linux machine only a windows 8 laptop and an iMac so is there any .sh that will work on mac

Can confirm that option 2 no longer works from the .145 firmware. I need to go back to stock and restore my backup TA to send the phone back for warranty repair. I start the display service test as instructed and nothing happens. I'm on windows 7.

I have the same problem even though I have been rooted before. Haven't found a solution yet.
Sent from my LT30p using xda app-developers app

Use mtp (media transfer mode) instead of msc. I had this problem and I fixed it with this method
Sent from my LT30p using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

The solution I found was just to flash a .303 ftf and root it from that. Rooting becomes very easy.

Just an after thought....I have kies installed on my pc also. Would this make a difference ?
If kies has ADB, it could be a problem indeed if kies' ADB is used. Just uninstall kies and try.
Did you also try Doomlord's Easy Rooting Toolkit? Might be worth trying if you don't get results with bin4ry.

Hey guys,
Have the C6903 and am looking at upgrading to RomAur v4.1, where at the moment I have C6903 14.1.G.2.257 Generic AU 1277-0078_R3A loaded. I ran some command and it mentioned that Bootloader can be unlock..
So the question is how to do i do the upgrade to RomAur v4.1, while keeping my phone contacts, messages and notes? Dont really care about apps as I can re-download them again..
If there is a post that already mention how this is done please link it for me as I didnt find what I was looking for...
Thanks in advance...

Why don't you just sync everything with EverNote and Google? I came from an iPhone before getting my Z1 and 2 minutes after switching it ON, it just had my contacts already. Was really amazed. If this works from iOS to stock ROM, no wonder it will work from stock ROM to RomAur.
If you can't get such feature (I doubt a lot that you can't, developers here do such an awesome job) in your custom ROM, just forget it?

I suppose is even impossible to update from stock to custom and keep all data. To do that you have make a full wipe to do a fresh install and do not have problems.
Of course its possible...
Backup contacts to google and then restore, backup messages using sms backup and restore afterwards and backup notes using any backup app and restore afterwards...
Or am I missing something here...

Yes from what I read a full wipe is required, hence I thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone have/can do it. All good guess I will do what Vanarian suggest but I will create dummy account to sync my contacts first.

Why dummy account anyway? The same account to backup your contact you will use to access to Play Store for apps so no reason to do not do that.

[Q] Problems with Easy Rooting Toolkit

Hi. I'm new with this rooting thing (only rooted a phone once, and only because the process was very easy), so i wish you could help me.
I'm tryin' to root my Xperia SP (C5303) using the easy rooting toolkit (the lastest version), but when i run the .bat file and press any key, the process never ends. Sometimes it stucks in a "Waiting for Device" message. Sometimes, in a "daemon started succesfully" message. I guess that's because the file doesn't recognize correctly my device, but i don't know exactly where's the problem. I saw some people having the same issues but i couldn't found any way to fix it.
Are you running win 8/8.1 of yes it won't work many problems with drivers.
Easy way is to find and use win 7 PC then follow the guide

I'm using win 7. I'm following the steps indicated by doomlord, flashing the kernell to an older version (and i think this part is ok, cause my phone says that i can upgrade the software and before that, it was in .254). But the .bat file part doesn't work. USB debugging mode is on, so as Unknown sources. I'm thinkin' that the problem could be the drivers, but when i use adb driver installer, it shows that the driver is already installed in my pc. I tried to reinstall this driver and nothing changes. The connection with flashtool and pc companion is ok, but i think that the .bat file part is a problem (obviously, i'm a noob. I can easily be wrong).
Edit: Today i tried again to run the .bat file. Something new appeared:
--- STARTING ----
--- WAITING FOR DEVICE
--- creating temporary directory
mkdir failed for tmp, File exists
--- cleaning
--- pushing files
15 KB/s (326 bytes in 0.021s)
770 KB/s (1578 bytes in 0.002s)
and that's it...
Obs: sometimes it stucks in "creating temporary directory" too

[Q] Error while trying to root Xperia TL

Well, I've been trying to root my Xperia TL (LT30at) to delete some bloatware and to install a recovery, for later change the ROM.
The problem here is that while I try to root with the bin4ry file, it always says to me there is no Backup & Restore app (which is true) and just waits for me to open the fake backup, which never shows up.
The most similar thing here the AT&T My Locker, which I cannot use because I'm from outside the US and in my country there is no such thing as AT&T.
By the other way I try to use the NUT's Dual Recovery (XT-lockeddualrecovery2.7.123-BETA.installer). It always tells me it was successful, but when I try to go to the recovery, It only turns on normally (obviously I always stay pressing the Volume Up button even after he shows me the AT&T logo).
So then, what should I do?
If anyone can help me I will be eternally grateful.

You need to be rooted before installing CWM. Did you try Doomlord's Easy Rooting Toolkit?

Mad Marty is right, you have to be rooted before installing CWM.
You can find Doomlord's Easy Rooting Toolkit here: http://d-h.st/1Gp
Keep in mind that it works only with Jelly Bean 4.1.2 firmwares (so I guess you're OK) and remember to turn on USB debugging in developer option before rooting.
Just tryed the Doomlord's Easy Rooting Toolkit. This is what it showed to me:

You can do nothing with this tool, since it seems your device isn't supported.
I think this tutorial will help you a lot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2695394

That thread you linked to implies that the phone is already rooted; OP is trying to root.
@Darkanimus: You might want to check out this method, which seems to work for the LT30at.
I have a little more advance:
Now I have the backup & restore app and the Bin4ry's shell detects it (using the v18 and the v33). But when I'm going to "restore" the rootme file, when the confirmation screen appears, the app crashes and I still can navigate through the phone. When I go to the home screen, it shows an advice saying that Backu & Restore just crashed. What should I do?

If it doesn't work, I suppose that he can flash JB .141 of xperia T excluding baseband (to keep LTE band) and root that
