[Q] Unlock DE - Moto X Q&A

I have the VZW DE version and I'm going to unlock it. Will it reset everything back to factory or does the device just unlock?

I believe it will reset a everything back to factory. I did mine awhile ago and my memory sucks but just back everything up before doing it.
Yeah I didn't have much on my phone when I did it so I didn't really care if anything got deleted.

Thanks.. Moto's tech support says they don't wipe. Maybe they should go back to school.

Dear All,
I have bought HTC ONE few weeks back. It was working fine but from few days its battery is behaving very abnormally, I charge it to 100% and with in few hours (5or6) it deads and after a restart it again shows 85% and keeps on doing this practice with regular intervals of 3 to 4 hrs untill it's completely finished. I am very much upset, I had reset to factory settings but no improvement. Please help to resolve this issue.

You need to tell us what carrier you are on and what version of the phone you have.
It sounds to me like there is a problem with the hardware, assuming you are stock ROM. If so, return it under warranty.

Can you get into the bootloader (hold power + volume down)? If so, you'll probably need to reflash the stock recovery before the update will install.
Thanks, after I stopped panicking and calmed down I was able to flash Stock Recovery and then the next reboot caused the standard update to work. Kind of surprised really, still rooted etc.
Right now phone is working but Wi-Fi indicator is not lit, even though it is using the wi-fi.
Clear cache and dalvik cache?

Well you have the dev edition, they aren't going to take root from you. Don't know what's up with your wifi, though. When I updated I ended up having to restore a backup and updating again because of several extremely strange problems.

Disable WiFi and turn it back on right after.

Yep, everything seems to be working again now.
I have blindly followed instructions for flashing etc. using Fasboot but I think I'm finally getting a better feel for what is going on with it.

If you reset the phone you will still be rooted, any apps you deleted will still be gone, it will delete any apps you installed. If you are on MI1 and want to go back to where you were then you need to find the Odin build for MI1 and use Odin to flash it. I am not sure what having SS on your phone will do if you Odin back but to be safe, if you have SS installed I would un install it.

So couldn't I just get the RDLV I originally used and flash it..? I think it was like 1.8gb because it included mi1.
I may even still have it.
So you say to essentially re-perform the RLDV procedure?

If you still have your RDLV it should work just fine. If you want true stock MI1 then you need to find that firmware and flash it in Odin. If you want to keep root then use your RDLV.

[Q] My new nexus won't start correctly

Hello, I'm pretty much new to the android scene therefore excuse me for my stupidness on this field
I unlocked my nexus 6, then I rooted it and and then I flashed a custom rom (Euphoria 1.0) with WugFresh's Tool.
Yesterday I tried installing adaway and gave it full root permissions, it asked me to reboot and I did so.
After rebooting I realized that I can't unlock my phone nor do anything else except using the pull down notification bar and having a back button, no middle button nor right button.. The screen just remains black. I tried rebooting in recovery mode but nothing changes.
What do I've to do now?
The device doesn't show up as MTP.
When I enter TWRP now it asks me for a password??
I've a Nandroid backup saved on my HDD and I still have the custom rom ZIP saved as well.

Reset your entire phone by flashing the factory image. This can be done with the wugs toolkit as well.

What would happen if I just restored a Nandroid backup I made? would it still work?

It depends. If your phone doesn't work at the moment because something is wrong in the rom, the chance of the same thing happening could happen again. You can try restoring your nandroid and see if that fixes your problem. If not going back to stock is the best way to fix your problem.

[Q] XT1093 problems

So I accidently formated the /system while i was running 5.1. So now my phone only seems to boot to TWRP. But I went to the factory option in the bootloader menu..and it booted back normally (although without mobile service) to 5.0.2. IS there anyway I can make my phone just boot to what the factory option does?
