Hi,
is there an application that can display (in notification bar) time that remains to turn off display (sleep)
was trying to find one but couldn't.
I'm asking because it often makes me nervous when the screen goes black in front of me. With app like this I could see remaining time and tuch the screen on time.
Thank you

Why don't you change the screen settings to always stay on and it will only turn off when you press the power button that way you don't need to worry about it switching off on its own at all

Hi Xdians
I tired to find this every where on your forum, market and google etc..
I dont know if any one felt a need for this or not because seems like this app does not exists (Which is not possible)
I am looking for a widget to turn off the screen, I am using SGS and its very annoying to keep pressing power button to turn the screen off. I need a widget on my screen by pressing which it turns the screen off then I can use home to turn on again.
Thanks a bunch in advance

Just another Android guy !
"Screen off widget" by seltzer from the market it costs about 1 dollar from memory its one app i cant do without as turning screen off with cover is pain in arse. it has invisible widget so you can put on homescreen without it looking crap just one tap and screen is turned off..
Thanks! Tragusman I will try that
you may also try "lock screen widget" which is free just touch the icon and the screen is off and locked. its better than using the power key
I tired both Screen off widget didnt work for some reason, however lock screen works the best thanks a lot Taha_e .. You guys are awesome !!
Noticed an issue with Lock Screen. It locks the Screen but not the phone. It drains battery A LOT!

sorry, what do you mean?
I'm using this tool since 1 week and I don't see any problem...
please explain
Yesterday i was looking for some app to notify me via LED about missed calls/other messages. Installed an app (don't remember app name) from Play store and immediately i observe that soft keys lit every time i touch the screen. It's very annoying. Problem remains same after uninstalling the app and today i flashed to V_10H but problem still exists.
Help me to resolve the problem also recommend any good app to notify the missed calls/messages.
Thanks
When the screen is on this is normal, but it happens when the screen is off also I think?
Just a guess, but try this:
Go to the soft key settings, set it to always on.
Then set your screen brightness on automatic.
Reboot and put the settings back to what you had first.
Reboot.
This helped with soft key light problems in V10F.

Thanks for response. I followed your steps..problem still exists.
This happens only when screen is on. I don't think its normal to lit soft keys when ever i touch main screen. I haven't noticed this until i installed app.
If it lit's up whenever i touch the screen doesn't it affect when i play games/seek video?

It's always been like this for my phone.. When the screen is on, and the soft key lights are out, if I then touch the screen again they light up.
You can either disable the soft key lights or enable them to light up constantly, like I do now.

I don't have apps that control screen light. I tired playing games like Bubble Words and light turns on every time when i touch screen. So i set lights to off always.
When the phone was new, i was on V_10e and i didn't have this problem. I installed some stupid app and it changed everything. I have upgraded to 10H but still problem exists and no way to prove that it worked earlier.
I don't get the logic behind lights on when i touch main screen.
Thanks
Hey on my Xperia Z stock rom nothing flashed, when it is in standby (screen off) randomly the screen glows and does not stop, like the screen is still off but it's like the back light has come on? is this normal? seems to be a power wasting thing to me. unless i look at it from a slight angel (during the day) i can not actually tell it's on, i'm assuming this is why my screen is using 60+% of my battery is there a fix for this?
Are you using any power saving mode?

Stamina mode.
I have the exact same thing happen, and it is definitely a pain as like you say you can only notice it when looking at an angle, and as I have a flip case on mine I only notice while charging. It is just a case of pressing the power button twice to turn off but that is obviously only when you notice it's doing it! lol
I use stamina mode on mine (which is great) but not sure if this is anything to do with the backlight being left on as it only does it sometimes?
I had this issue when i first got my phone ,and not anymore. Not sure how it solved cause i did lot of factory reset and flashing firmwares.
Are you using light flow or any third party apps?

I get this too. I get it when it's locked and it comes back on. Also when I unlock the screen sometimes this happens and I have to turn the screen off and on again to fix it.
Happening here also but not often. I thought it was low battery mode but happens when it's disabled as well.

No i'm not using any third party light apps, seems like this may be an actual bug if multiple people are experiencing it
I have only done one reset/repair to fix the LED notification light bug.
Hope this helps
I know how to fix this. I have an xperia z1 so im not sure if my problem is the same but i use my phone as an alarm so i notice at night the screen is glowing while its standby. If you go to settings or maybe you have it in quick settings go to brightness and deactivate "adapt to lighting conditions" then it should be a black screen woth no glow in standby mode
Since updating to marshmallow, my longer notification sounds, especially Calendar Snooze, are cut off.
I read somewhere about an app setting to allow it to turn the screen on as a fix. I did that but now I can't remember what app I made the change in or where I read that suggestion. I thought it might have been Light Flow, but I can't find it in there.
Now my power button fails to wake up the screen the majority of the time. Sometimes the lock screen will flash for a fraction of a second and go black again. Usually it takes 6-10 tries before the screen finally stays on so I can use my phone.
Since the wake up problem started when I tried to fix the notification sound, I'm pretty sure they're related. Any ideas?

if youre using lightflow id suggest wiping the data in it and resetting your notification settings. it does tend to override the system so i can see that screwing with the duration of the notification, and starting fresh usually solves most problems
i have mine set to wake the screen for SMS but not MMS. it creates similar problems with the screen
Thanks for the info. I tried just toggling the screen on settings on and back off for all of the Light Flow apps, and it seems to have fixed my screen turn on problem, at least for now.

I'm having the same notification sound cut short problem, I have a nexus 7 wifi 2013 model running Mohamed rom v2.1
Whenever anyone calls me on google hangouts, the ring only lasts for a second before its cut off, this doesn't happen if the front cover is open, it happens only when its closed.
I didn't have this problem on kitkat, but on MM this problem started from day 1.
I don't see any light flow option anywhere.
Any suggestions to fix this will be very appreciated.
Thanks.

LightFlow fixed my screen problems, but it was just a coincidence that I installed Marshmallow and my sounds got cut off around the same time. I'm still looking for a solution to that issue. Similar to you, if my screen is on, the notification sounds work correctly. If the screen is off, they get cut off.
So we have the ability to have the Lock Screen, Always On, and a secondary setting for "Show display when nearby." Turning on the "nearby" option however, seems to just always be on, as well. Testing it by turning the phone around, or walking away, and I see the lockscreen stays on. Am I misunderstanding what this feature does?

you need to move away from the device. When the device senses that you are no longer near it, then the screen will turn off. Another user is using that with no issues. Maybe you didn't move far enough away from it?
Yeah he said 18 - 20 inch, which corresponds to a half a meter.
