[Q] S-OFF help - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I am already rooted and have an unlocked bootloader. I did this a while ago. I flashed ARHD GPE and am on 4.3.
I wanted to upgrade to 4.4 but I needed to be s-off'd so I went to try to do so with revone but I got a error code = -1. I read online that I needed to be on 4.2.2 or earlier in order for revone to work so I flashed maximus hd 11. I tried s-off'ing again but kept getting error code = -6.
I am on HBOOT 1.44. I restored to 4.3 but I still want to upgrade to 4.4. How do I go about gaining s-off? Help would be great!
Also, I am running TWRP right now. If I want to switch to CWM to flash cyanogenmod, what's the procedure I need to follow?
Thanks for your time guys and a happy thanksgiving!

You can't do revone for that, has to be older on. Is your phone from ATT orginally?

forget 1.54, follow the downgrade method as suggested by @SaHiLzZ in the thread he linked, and then use revone.

Why don't you try via Ubuntu. Worked for me first time (check my thread).
I also had 1.44 hboot.
Good luck

ok. i'm in the process of doing that. i am stuck on the step where I had to restore the nandroid backup. it restored fine and ansked me to install root but now it's stuck on the boot screen. power+volume down aren't even restarting the device or anything. the soft touch buttons just blink when i hold power+vol down.

It's 2 am, for me, but here's the short version: buttons blinking = good.
Do keep holding power + volume down (under a bright light, no I am not kidding!!!). The phone will reboot (u may need to try more than once or twice, can take anywhere between 20 secs to a minute), u can let go of power button, but keep holding volume down, and it will get u to bootloader.

Do a clear cache or factory reset
You need to keep the power button holding.

You need to post this on the Downgrade thread and supply some more infomration. What state was your phone in before you started the downgrade? HBOOT version, ROM version, etc.
If you could posts the exact steps you used and how you answered the questions when you ran the script, that would be helpful also.
Not a very helpful OP. Was your bootloader unlocked when you attempted the downgrade? You do know how to enter boot mode (volume down + power)?
well, before i downgrade my device. It was in android 2.3.5 and htc sense 3.0 and also the hboot before downgrade was 2.01.0001. So i need to downgrade the hboot to root my device.
I was using this thread for my downgrade
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1373697
So now my device only stuck in the HTC logo screen and I can't do anything about it. I even use the bootloader which i need to press vol down+power and factory reset it and still its not working. I did wipe all the cache and everything but still wont give me any result.
Now my current hboot version is 1.13.0000 and it is still S-On
So is there anyway for me to recover back everything from where it was before? or possible to make it root and use it normally?

[help] back to stock

hello! I have to send my HTC One in for warrenty:
I am now s-off, bootloader locked, super-CID, custom Rom, HBoot 1.44.0000, custom recovery.
What do i have to do bevore sending it in? My One is from T-Mobile germany. Firmware version 1.29.111.11
If i runn an RUU does it flash stock recovery? or do have have to do this manually?
Instead of running a RUU (i cant find an t-mobile germany ruu) is it possible to flash a stock nanadroid backup (http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/444-m7-cwm-nandroid-backup-cid-t-mob101-1281116/ ?)?
how do i get S-on again?
OK, now i am back to T-MOB101 cid! Am i now able to flash this nandroid backup (http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/444-m7-cwm-nandroid-backup-cid-t-mob101-1281116/ ) ? Or is there anything to do before?
does anyone know where to find stock T-Mobile germy revovery? or can i simply use the 401 one?

yes since you have s-off you can use revone again to "lock" your bootloader and remove "tampered" flag after this, don't forget to go back to s-on again. then you should be completely stock.

i can't say for sure. i'd recommend you to use revone, it's safer in my opinion. you've used revone to get s-off, didn't you? so just do the same again and use the instructions in the revone thread (i already postet the link for you)
the s-on function should work fine, but WAIT, first "lock" the bootloader..

[Q] HTC One reboot into bootloader

Hi
My HTC One keeps rebooting into the bootloader every time i turn it on, but if i say reboot, it boots up normally.
I decided to unlock my bootloader and the root the device, but i regret after unlocking the bootloader, so i decided to lock it. But now it just says "relocked" and "security warning". The reason it annoys me, is that i can't install the latest OTA update, because it just reboots into bootloader, and when i say "reboot" it boots up normally and the update is NOT installed.
What do you think i should do?
BTW, sorry if my english isn't perfect...

Are you still using a custom recovery? You have to flash stock recovery for OTAs.
Cant help you in detail but...
-you can change "Unlocked" to "Locked" with revone S Off
-it seems like you dont have any rom installed... you should flash a stock nandroid backup.. you can found it in the general forum.

Well custom recovery won't let you get OTA. But your are S-Off :good: excellent.
So first thing I would do, is use revone to get rid of "TAMPERED" and change "RELOCKED" to "LOCKED".
Keep S-Off !!
And finally run your RUU, that would reflash hboot, stock recovery, stock radio, stock ROM... all back to stock, and you should receive the OTAs.
(Remember keep S-Off, cause once you receive the OTA it has an updated hboot which will not allow you to S-Off again)

There are plenty of RUUs here: http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=M7
if you can't find one for your CID, just change it to SuperCID for the duration of the process; remember you'll only need to downgrade to be able to run revone successfully, after that you can reflash whatever ROM, firmware, etc you choose.
EDIT: nevermind the above, i misread and thought you still had s-off. my bad.
EDIT 2: did you at least flash back stock recovery? if you're still on custom recovery that will cause problems.

If I understand correctly after downloading the OTA, you try to install it. The OTA will reboot into bootloader during that process. Correct?
Can't really think of a reason it's doing that, but if it is try going to "recovery" from the bootloader menu not "reboot", and see if it starts installing.

Unlocking relocked bootloader fails

I had my bootloader unlocked, device was s-off, and super cid, then decided to sell my HTC one so I went back to s-on, restored my Telus Nandroid ( no RUU for Telus), relocked bootloader and then try to update it, it was then stuck so I pushed on power, went a little bit further, then stucked, power off and it completed. Now I decided to keep the device so I tried unlocking it again with HTC DEV, after flashing the unlock_code.bin it says it's successful but nothing happens on the phone. Any idea how to fix that?
Thanks
Anyone? I just can't think of anything else

If you are still on 1.44 use a Rom based on 4.1.2 for biggest chance of success.

Common issue - HBoot 1.56 and trying to achieve S-Off

I'm having the same issue that so many are having. I'm trying to S-Off to convert my htc one m7 to a Google edition.
I have installed the most recent versions of ViperOne and ElementX as my kernel. Each time I run Rumrunner and Firewater I get the errors saying to pray and restart or that my kernel isn't supported.
Right now I'm downloading Bulletproof for and Android Revolution HD to replace my rom and kernel and then will be trying rumrunner again. Should this work probably?
Thanks and sorry, I'm kind of a newb in all of this haha. I've read a ton of other forum posts and tried everything they've had to say, but haven't figured it out.
help :/ I installed ARHD, then wiped Davlick and Cache and then installed Bulletproof and went to reboot phone and now been stuck on the htc one splash screen for ten minutes.... held down power button and capacitive buttons on bottom of the screen flashed..... am I screwed?
EDIT: I ended up getting into recovery and installing the backup I made. Does anyone know where I went wrong though and how I can achieve s-off? Thanks!

So I ended up not being able to install the rom. I got the new recovery in, but if you view my other topic, the recovery crashes I believe or the phone does before I can wipe the cache or reboot.
