Today the phone suddenly froze and i had to pull off the battery to restart.
the phone stuck on bootlogo.
i tried again but failed so i tried to restore previous cwm backup..
it showed an error that "make_extf4fs failed on /dev/stl13" while trying to clean data.
i tried to explicitly to wipe data but that too failed.
i tried to flash other roms but they failed too..
then i flash cm9 rc1 maclaw it booted but showed "Encryption Unsuccessful" page. where a reset phone was the only option available.
i read about the problem in other forums and concluded that flashing official firmware via odin could solve the problem.
even after flashing "S5830DDKQ8_S5830ODDKQ7_INU" via odin.
its still on the bootloop of samsung logo.
and now on stock recovery it says "e:format_volume rfs format failed on /dev/stl13"
Please help me out..
:crying:
What cwm version have you got?

Whenever you have those types of problems, flash the 5 package zips of stock firmware. That usually fixes those software issues.

Lmao boy that **** does a COMPLETE WIPE of the phone unlike the 1 package. If that can't fix any problems on the Ace, you're completely screwed.

You can then flash your own 1 package file to change your baseband to whatever you want and stuff.
Thread moved to Q & A section, post in the relevant section next time.

Hello. I have the same problem with my lg l7 p705. I press the "restore factory..." but the process was too long so i took my battery out. I tried to turn it on, lg logo flash, kitkat logo flash, and i'm stuck here. I tried waiting for it but after an hour it was still stuck on the kitkat logo. I REALLY NEED SOME HELP. PLEASE. by the way, my phone is rooted. It was originally on jelly bean and i change it to kitkat.
Did u tried philz touch?
wipe data/factory reset failed | MMX A110 .
I have tried for the wipe data/factory reset option, but got stuck in progress of formatting. The scree is hanged with showing Android formatting animation. So I have power off the phone by removing the battery. But whenever i am rebooting to Recovery mode, it switches to formatting animation and continues for infinite time. When report normally it gets hanged to MMX boot screen.
Please Help me out of this situation. I am in big trouble.

BTW which FC message you getting?
after flash the ROM do you restore your system app?
** donnot restore system apps
I would probably recommend that you try this
in recovery->advance->wipe system
then wipe data/factory reset
then install new rom...maybe this should work
and if not then flash official rom via odin and root it and flash a custom rom that you want
AW: [Q] big problem pls
Flash stock Rom via Odin.
Root, flash a ics custom Rom and than any JB custom Rom.
That fix all Problems i ever had.

You should try to use the "Search This Forum" for status 7 error. It looks like you were trying to flash a wrong ROM to your phone. Which ROM did you try to flash and what kind of phone do you have?

My phone is a Nexus One and I was trying to flash VJ CM10.1 Jelly Bean 4.2.2 - v5.0. Finally i made it work.
I wipe cache, do a factory reset and then a Dalvik cache. That was not working so I found a thread saying that may work if you unmount system partition and that works to me.
Finally, I'm running this awesome ROM.
Thanks for the help

Hello everyone ,
Please help a brother. I have the M7 international version , i just bought it few days ago.Because of some problems i decided to install the latest ARHD , everything worked like charm , but after installation i wiped the data partition and now i have "System UI stopped working".
The problem is that i was looking here and on some another websites and all restore guides require S-OFF and i have S-ON.
Is there any chance to return to stock with S-ON ? Or what is the procedure wich works i hboot 1.57 to make it S-OFF ?\

why did you wipe the data partition after installation?, that holds important data that the rom just installed. To fix this just wipe /data, /cache, /system then re-flash the rom.

you have to wipe all the three partitions (/data, /cache & /system) before re-installing the rom (don't let aroma installer do this, do it manually in twrp or cwm recovery) then ARHD has a clean slate to install on. Then it should boot fine.

no not extactly, sometimes android upgrade means that certain app require certain directories and if these do not exist, during android upgrade process it will create them

you might have had a bad download, i suggest downloading and installing completely different rom (i'm using skydragon v16). Don't worry as long as your phone turn on and has recovery (i suggest you use twrp, most compatible for the m7) your phone is recoverable and don't forget recovery also has adb so once the new rom finishes downloading push or sideload via ADB in recovery
