Then may be you need to look into rooting. only then you will have a complete picture of whats going on... You need to check some folders like
data/log, data/lost+found
system/lost+found
I also face same problem, then I noticed that the size I can only reduce is from WhatsApp databases:
Use any File Explorer >> Go to sdcard0>> Folder 'Whats App' >> Databases >> Delete the old backup files.
Using this I was able to clear more than 300MB files...

if you have installed it and copied it side by side, it wont work. just uninstall, then copy to system/apps
if it doesn't work, use link2sd
Apps with lib files don't simply convert to system apps. The lib files must be moved to system/lib before converting.

I need help, currently my os is the jellybean version. All along my fone always have lots of apps running behind til I reduce to 6-8 apps. But lately I try to update apps, it prompt me insufficient memory. I tried my ways to stop apps to run but still can't. I check my device memory is only 202mb. Usbstorage got 7.52gb. May I ask wat is the root problem. I really wanted to do a hard reset to factory setting. Anyways can help...
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Hard reset on jb isn't safe. If you have not root your phone then root with philz safe kernel. Then only do hard reset.
Everytime you uninstalling an app make sure to clear data first so that it could free some memory which previously used by the app.
Your running out of storage memory or ram?

Hi androidsaver, it prompts me "my device memory is insufficient, unable to install the update".

Is your device rooted?
When you open file manager how much GB does it say available in "sdcard"
It's always so much harder when you have to try (David Gray).
OK. When I open the file manager, my sd card definitely have enough memory cos I still have 24gb memory. I believe is my device memory in the fone, giving me problem.

I found a topic which is related my problem too but seems like no1 able to help.. do I really need to stop all the files from running behind or last option to restore back to factory setting?

I got this msg... can anyone tells me how should I rectify it.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Device rooted? If you are, go to folder root/data/log and delete some logs with name something like dumpstate_ril_RESET_BY_CP_SILENTRESET_20130801070641.
Deleting these files frees up space. About 6mb per file. No adverse effect so far for me. Not sure about deleting other files.

Thanks. But I have not rooted my note. Now I'm facing lots of app unable to use. Reason due to insufficient storage to sync.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
It might not help but you could try avg cleaner off of the play store or else disk defragmenter
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Like what i mentioned before. It is most likely that those file are created by system and stored in you root partition. The only way i know is to root the phone and delete those files.

May I ask what is the recommended software for rooting my fone?
Anyway I have check with the samsung service centre. I was told the device is for install apps., so I only have 2gb of apps.
For the deleting of files, I worried I might delete the wrong files and cause malfunction of the fone.. I guess I need to delete some folders in the fone

Search for Philz thread and read it. That is the easiest and safe way to root N7000. As for logs deleting, the logs filename i mentioned is safe for deleting.

Internal memory has 2 parts. 1st is system and another is internel for use of apps.
System space is used by firmware or roms u install. So u cannot free ur system space fully, but yes u can di it a little bit to enjoy ur rons speed!

Browse to system folder using root explorer or any other alternative and delete apps u dont want from app folder or lib files.
But, do this only if u know what u r doing!
U may soft brick ur device or end with a boot loop!

Hi,
with titanium backup I have seen that I have this situation:
- System ROM: 419 MB (free 199)
- Internal ROM: 440 MB (free 124)
when I choose application, I see the "Internal ROM" because I see that I've 124 MB free space for applications (a lot of apps are moved to SD)
But about System ROM? Where are that 199 MB free? How can I use them? "System ROM" it's the space occupied by ROM only? In that case it's better include some apps in ROM, to occupied that space and save "user app space"?
Or it's better have this situation?

I'm pretty sure that in titanium backup nowhere stands system & internal rom. Maybe system & internal storage.
Sure you can use your free system space. Just go into a file explorer under system/app/ and paste some .apk files into it. Give rwrr permissions and reboot.
You can also just use TB and use the "convert to system app" function.

I am using latest cm 14.1. "System ui has stopped" error pops up while unlocking the screen. Please help. I have even tried a clean flash.
Crash details: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Failed to allocate a 36876 byte allocation with 19312 free bytes and 18KB until OOM
Use the root tool box app and fix premissions on all apps. Also are you using link 2sd or apps to sd???

No. I am using only cm apps + gapps.
Okay is it just the one error or is it also followed by apps crashing and poping up errors shortly after the error????

You can get rom toolbox on google play or xda threads. Install that select manage apps then select all and fix premissions. This should fix this issue.

It happens only when I try to unlock the screen. Most of the time, it works with out any issues. But, sometimes the error pops up and screen gets lock again.
I am not sure if you realize that you flshed a nightly build. These builds tend to be buggy and not work. Look for a stable ROM build for your phone and flash that one also you can update the developer on what happend to your phone so that he. She . can update the build. It all leads to the ROM being still in development. Tnx. Id say case closed.
