Well, it seems that Sense 4.0 is being ported over to the Galaxy Nexus, and they seem to be doing well. So, is there a chance it can be ported to the Nexus 7 as well?
Now, I'm no way an expert at this stuff, but perhaps the One X can help us out? It has the Tegra 3 in it, but it seems to be a different version with a higher clock speed.

Other devices having a Tegra 3 doesn't do much good. I can tell you that there's some people working on it who would like to make it happen. But I can't promise anything.

Firefox OS is meant to be a mobile OS and is derived from an Android kernel, it's not the same thing. It's also already available on a couple of Android devices (Nexus S/S 4G, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Nexus, all on ICS+).
That being said, you might want to read a little bit about the product you're asking for, before asking for a port because it "seems pretty cool". And while we're here, stop asking for ports altogether till we get the GPU sources, and don't mistaken the Ace i for a high end device.
People keep asking for CM ports, better gaming performance, less lag, etc. Well, perhaps it would have been a good idea to know what you're buying when you bought this budget phone.

Only the first part of my post was directed at him, and he already said that.
I plan to change the smartphone, and I have some ideas on my next smartphone I want to choose and I solicits your opinion on this choice, I wish to have constructive answers please.
I want a smartphone that is either Xiaomi MI-2S or the the samsung galaxy S3.
Your opinion?
Thank you in advance.
Go for mi-2 if you want to be stuck with miui, as xiaomi didn't released kernel sources. S3 will give you more freedom in roms to choose from
But level performance the mi2 is more strong than the Samsung galaxy s3, and more low level of price.

maybe it is, but you can't install anything else than miui on it, because there is no other rom for this phone... why don't you try nexus 4? it have really great dev support (better than s3) and is cheaper than s3
Nothing beats nexus 4 yet! But unfortunately its availability is extremely like low

And there's no cm10.1, aokp or anything other than miui... If you love it, then go for it. I'd rather save up for something else, or wait for nexus 5 (should be out in 3, 4 months)
*edit: not that I have something against miui, specific-wise mi-2s is awesome phone, but the fact that xiaomi is holding back on kernel sources, is preventing any serious development, and this me no gusta...

I think 3-4 months is still early for Nexus 5. AFAIK Google's been always keeping about 11 months time gap b/w new Nexus....so in my view it'll take some time.
But still who knows what's Google planning.
I'm also in mood of buying Nexus ( 4 ) but part of me wants to wait for Nexus 5.
why don`t wiat and buy galaxy 4 or samsung galaxy nuxes ???
The best reasons why i prefer the Xiaomi MI2S is the ration price/performance/quality and the xiaomi is the best after what i saw.

Yeah, but it's really closed source. I like MI2S is because the price, you can overclock a Nexus 4 to get processor performance like MI2S.

but with no tweak you get better performance as a nexus 4 overclocked, which can be broked.
So if i compare the Nexus 4 and the Xiaomi MI2-S without hesitation i take xiaomi.
On Sina Weibo, when someone from Xiaomi posted a tweet
"We again urge those who familiar with adoption of MIUI help adopt MIUI v5 to more phone. Our upcoming plan is develop for Galaxy S4 and HTC One. Bevause we seriously lack of developer, that's probably all we can do before end of the year. Contact mcming_小米 if you are interested"
A user asked in reply "So how about Nexus 4?" And he said "already given up, I think Stock is better for Nexus 4"
And another user replied subsequently "Why you think Nexus 4 better stay stock? Is it because you want to reduce competition of Xiaomi MI-2?" he replied "If you don't think stock rom is good, why do you buy Nexus 4?"
and he also said in another post:
"Adoptation of MIUI on third party devices are based on their active user count within China. We believe stats from Baidu and Taobao. And we also support some local brand quality phone with fewer user base because of our love on Chinese local phone. They may not buy Xiaomi for some purpose, but as far as they buy quality Chinese phone, they are user of MIUI. For non-Chinese brand's phone, other than Samsung/HTC, user base are too small amd it's meaningless to support them."
*All quote above are translated by myself and sorry for poor translation.

Well, if you ask me, this thread is insignificant. No offence at all.
MIUIAndroid mako builds are being taken seriously by Mark. He never abandons anything that he has already started and so is in the case of N4.
We don't need to worry, once Mark sets out the word that his builds are stable enough with every App and feature working, Xiaomi will surely consider it in :good:
The nexus 4 beta roms are being posted at miui along with 48 other devices, so its not completely unsupported. My personal experience is the ROM is very smooth and performs really well. And there are a number of efforts on this from itself, at last count 3 threads in the dev forum on miui roms.
The latest 3.6.13 posted gets around 17250 on antutu stock and is buttery smooth. The one by Soul_Raider on this forum is also excellent and extremely smooth. Most of the bugs have been fixed. Its definitely worth trying.

Same thoughts here. But only thing I'm really missing - full working miui camera app. Stock google cam, kinda out of overall design(
Build process
Can anyone elaborate more on the work of individual developers regarding this rom?
I do not understand the players in this game. what does Xiomi develope? and what does Mark and others developing? how do they use Xiomi work?
I really love MIUI (back from the days of S1) but i want to know development is not going to stop on this before i install it.
Every day when I login to the forums I see either another AOSP/CM rom or nothing new. Being a long time Nexus fanboy, I find it really odd that this device doesn't have any ports of third party UIs. I mean, the Nexus 5 has MIUI, FlymeOS, Ubuntu Touch, SailFish, and more. I always thought that was the coolest thing about Nexus devices, we always got the latest and greatest Android software and the Devs would port over so many good UIs because of how easy it was to port to a Nexus device.
Are there any devs working on any ports at all?
Do you as N6 users want to see more ports, even if it's not a daily driver but for the fun of trying something different for a change?
Yeah I'd love some love from miui and flume.

Always wanted to try the latest MIUI V6 which was merged with Lollipop earlier this year, and Flyme OS which hit the Nexus 5 after I left the device. Honestly I just like to mix it up a bit even if the experience is not as grand as stock.
most nexus modders use nexus devices not for porting, as porting generally brings instability, but for the stability of using aosp. every other device has to "port" aoap over, which reduces the stability. nexus devices dont have to port it over. if you are so interested in running a port, why dont you port something over. you will realize that it is by far not easy work, and you will spend all your free time on it, without ever getting paid for your work. enjoy

Interesting, I'm not a Dev, but I always thought it was easier to port to Nexus devices since they are always running stock and not locked down like most other devices.

port, to a device it doesnt belong on.. being a nexus has nothing to do with it. a nexus has an unlockable bootloader and is easy to root, thats it. drivers to get things running right on the n6 are not open source, they need to be written from scratch to get any os to work with our hardware and cpu.

no. drivers arent for nexus devices, they are for our specific hardware. thats why a nexus 6 can not run kitkat, drivers for a nexus 6 for kitkat do not exist(actually they do, but never were released by google).

Drivers were never brought over? Well that would be a problem. Cool, thanks for the feedback.
As @simms22 stated, parting correctly is very difficult from one device to another, regardless of which device you have. They generally need many dirty hacks and are seldom stable.
I think overall on nexus devices, interest in ports is waning, so there is little to encourage someone to do it.
As an idea of difficulty, the moto x pro, which is pretty similar to the nexus 6 still hasn't been ported, and they've been trying.
