I was running a custom rom and decided to go back to the stock rom... But when I went through the steps, I noticed that HBOOT is at 1.55 and OS is still 3.62..... in the bootloader..... Is this normal??? But in settings under software it has 2.24.401.8.... I am confused. Is this what it is suppose to be?

OK, I want to revert to stock HD7 ROM. I currently have DFT V1.
Can I go ahead and flash, or do I need to mess about downgrading to Nodo?
Cheers.
If you still have HSPL you can go ahead and flash. The downgrade to NoDo was only required when you were running Mango and had a 4.x or 5.x bootloader. HSPL could not be applied over this hence the requirement to downgrade.
Flash tour stock ROM and then you can remove HSPL if needed.
Good luck.
just like it, only totally different
I also am wanting to flash back to stock Rom from a custom Rom. I would like to restore to my NoDo backup (which hopefully will bring back all my game save), then simply update through Zune. Anybody see any problems with this?
It looks to be somewhat easy to go back to a lower bootloader if I want to go to a custom Rom later.

I believe that you are correct on restoring your backup and regaining all your "saves." it should be just as if you never left.
The down-grade process is fairly easy and quick.
Hi everyone.
First i am totaly new on android and also htc one.i have updated my device to 2.24.401.9 and then decided to root my device and flash a custom rom.i am trying to turn to stock rom again but i cant do that.i cant find 2.24.401.9 firmware anywhere..i am trying to flash previous version but it doesnt work.what can i do?i dont know what i will do?
There's no 2.24 RUU out so you're gonna have to flash an odexed stock, then flash stock recovery and finally relock your bootloader. The bootloader will always say "relock", though.
Hi,
I rooted my HTC one phone and flashed new firmware on it but quite foolishly didn't make a back up of my stock rom. My original CID is ORANG001 so the only way to get back to stock it seems is to find a nandroid backup or an RUU of this firmware, is that right? Before I flashed a custom rom I had sense 5.5 and android 4.3. Was wondering if anyone had or knew where I could get a back up of this particular stock firmware? I have found a couple of sites but the links are not working. Does anybody have any other ideas on how I can go back to stock firmware and get OTA updates

Not quite hard to do
But I wanna ask you 1 question- Why do you want to return to stock? Returning to stock is just a limited version of a Sense-based custom ROM.
Why don't you flash a Sense-based custom ROM, which is almost identical to Stock? For example ARHD 52.0
I don't want to return to stock now as I'm enjoying custom roms on my phone. I just want to ability to return to stock for potential warranty issues or if I would like to receive OTA updates from my carrier. I think the software version i need is 2.24.61.1

Hi everybody.
my HTC one has Viper 5.8 running with S-ON and i like it that way.
I never updated the Firmware since i moved from the 4.2.2 stock rom. (i have nandroid backup of the stock rom)
I am a bit scared doing S-OFF "just" to update firmware, hboot and radio, I know it should be easy to do, but i just don't want to.
So i thought that maybe i can flash back to the stock rom, then make the offical HTC update to 4.3 sense 6 (should also flash newest firmware right?) and then unlock the bootloader again, flash twrp and custom rom again.
Would that work? Is there something i have to pay attention to?
thx for any help!!!!

Since you don't want S-Off, that is your best option. I would follow closely @Mike1986 [GUIDE] Complete Flashing Guide | Rooting | Going Back To Stock it is for those who are S-On.
Thanks, I will follow the guide.
But I have one more question:
Can I do the official HTC update from the htc stock rom while I still have custom recovery and bootloader unlocked?
Can't find any any info if there is any risk involved not changing back first to stock recovery and bootloader relocked before doing the update.
I guess recovery will be overwritten by the official update?!?
You need stock recovery and locked bootloader to take updates

you don't need a locked bootloader to get an official ota update, however, you do need to flash a stock recovery !!.
I went through the ota update method to update my firmware as for some reason my htc one wouldn't s-off and I felt that it wasn't running as it should on custom roms with the old firmware.
I started off with a flashable zip -4.06.1540.2,developer edition then ota updates, always doing a nand backup of rom.
always pull the stock recovery image from the ota before updating...
i'm now running 5.11.1540.9 firmware and all custom roms are running good...
if you google 4.06.1540.2 dev edition flashable zip you should find it,if not,i can upload it too somewhere for you...
an official htc ota update changes your firmware and installs a stock recovery..
its a bit long winded this way, but,it was the only way for me !!

First thank you for sharing your experience.
When you say "zip -4.06.1540.2,developer edition" then you mean the rom, correct?
Why would you pull the stock recovery from the OTA before updating? What would be the consequence of leaving it in?
...
so i would download the odexed stock rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48111304
and afterwards flash the according recovery.img, correct?
i guess it is no problem that my phone (and their for the bootloader) was not a developer edition

yeah,it's a full flashable rom, that can be installed by custom recovery, when I say pull the stock recovery,i mean copy it to a folder on your pc,always best to have the matching recovery for your stock rom.
Hi guys, I got an original M7 last year, which was running stock and I flashed bigxie's GPE 4.4.2 ROM. I want to sell my M7 now and can anyone guide me to flashing back to stock sense 4.4.2?

this two guides are a bit confusing, as i was hoping to get a stock sense zip.file in which i can just flash and un-root, re-lock the bootloader and get done with it. I'll be selling this phone to a friend of mine and he said he wanted to try out sense and he'll flash custom rom after he's done testing so I guess i don't really need to go 100% stock as long as it's running sense, unrooted, running stock recovery and able to receive OTA. Can anybody guide me to that? It will be a biiiiig help cause i'm still a newbie in these and it would mean a whole lot to me. Thanks

Look, if he's anyway gonna flash a custom ROM, you're gonna make his work harder by resetting it to stock as he will have to unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery, root and then a ROM. So, if that's the case, just flash a Sense ROM like ARHD and sell it to him. So, to flash a custom rom, all he has to do is wipe and flash it.
If, for some reason, he insists on a stock phone which on which he's gonna flash a ROM (makes no sense to me), follow the 2nd guide. If you're confused what to do, I can help you out. Post the output of you're 'fastboot getvar all' and remove imei and s/n
P.S. ' running sense, unrooted, running stock recovery and able to receive OTA ' is a fully stock phone
Except that a fully stock phone is S-ON while you're S-OFF
