[Q] Which style of Quick Settings do you prefer? - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Quick Settings was introduced to Android 4.2, which added some toggles for commonly used settings. A tap of the icon will take you to that part of the settings and a long press will toggle that feature on or off.
However due to OEM lag, most people on XDA are familiar with Quick Settings in CyanogenMod, which has the functionality reversed - a quick tap will toggle the feature on or off and a long press will take you to that part of the settings.
So for my recaf builds, which would you prefer, default android behaviour or CyanogenMod behaviour? (OmniROM and others use the CM behaviour too).
Vote and leave any comments!

Tho I am on custom stock based ROM I prefer to have the single tap to select WiFi/Bluetooth/GPS etc but when long press it opens that setting.

Right now I am using gravitybox to take care of almost everything.

imo cm behavior makes more sense than the default behavior, why do u have to long press in "quick setting" just to toggle?
anw, that's just my opinion :fingers-crossed:

Cm toggles

tap to enable/disable
long tap to enter settings

CyanogenMod way of working seems more logical IMO.

cm got it right
though what google was thinking is still a mystery to me
and if we are on the topic
@adfad666 wont it be nice to port the option for quick settings from cyanogenmod...?
that and the clear all button from paranoid android are the most natural and "stuff that should have been there from the start" type of elements.
have a poll am sure people would agree.(unless it causes problems like battery drain or memory hogging then forget it)
also kudos for the idea of a poll:good:

I also prefer cm way

Though I have never used CynogenMod, the CM quick settings seem more intuitive. So I'd prefer the CM way.

CM way it totally better for most of us I think, well at least for me...

[Q] Where are quick settings Cyanogen Mod 4.2.1

So I just download the latest nightly CM... It seems fast and cool! I like the OTG drive support! But... Where are my pull down settings.... I found the settings for pull down settings inside settings, but theres no setting to get my settings to pull down... I found a changelog somewhere saying it removed that option, and I cant for the life of me figure out what to do... About to switch back to stock rom... Anyone know where they went?
In the status bar If I understand you correctly? Pull down from the right corner almost to get your pull down settings.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
yeah i focused that too but in latest cm build (3 January) it works pull from the right corner didn't work on previous cm build
I found the "right" power menu doesn't work until g-apps is flashed.
Yeah once I flashed gapps it worked.... Unfortunately it is still pretty buggy....

Hold - back to kill current app

This is the main feature on that I miss, the possibility of killing the open app by holding back button.
It's a very simple procedure, and I'm sure that there's Tasker script to do this, but do you know any app that can do this on any rom? I don't have Tasker and don't intend to buy it.

Odp: Hold - back to kill current app
You will find it on cm 7 and cm10 rims.
Sent from LG 2X using Tapatalk 3 Beta
which rom are you using? cm10/10.1 has this option
developer options > (scroll to the bottom) kill app back buton (turn it on)
back button has to be pressed for a while (second or two) to kill the foreground application...
Ow, I'm sorry. I was saying that this is the main feature I miss on stock roms; I always used this on cm. But what I find funny is that it looks a very simple work to do, and very useful also (e.g. killing that wrong app you opened before its 10s to open), but I can't find it on play.

I miss it too, along with the hold volume to change tracks when standby, anyway stock ics (dmx to be accurate) is much better than cm imo.

Gave the xt925 version a quick go on the atrix hd and everything looked great. The only thing I noticed was the baseband version was different (I'm guessing something with the modem) and so lost LTE on T-Mobile. Went into 4636 settings to make sure LTE/gsm was selected but it only liked edge. Tried reflashing the stock radio and it will didn't change the baseband. Flashed my backup rom and it had the right baseband version and LTE was back. Any idea as to what I need to do to get back LTE?

Great! Thank you! Also I just remembered that I wasn't able to change the I/O scheduler... It was stuck on deadline. Changing the governor worked fine. Which kernel did you pack with the rom?

I believe that is an issue with the latest Play Store update. Although it hasn't happened on my RAZR, it does happen on my N7.
Since im posting... How does one turn off the charging LED? I went through setting multiple times but haven't come across it yet.

How did you manage to build this? I checked the site and it only said how to build for supported devices (I don't believe RAZR HD is supported).
And if you built from sources, it's not a port.

[Q] Maclaw CM10.2 - Jellybean 4.3

Hi,
I am using the CM10.2 | Jellybean 4.3 by Maclaw [20131021] and I would like to ask if it's possible to have somehow:
1. a 4-way reboot
2. long press back to kill application
The ROM, in my opinion, is currently the best available for our phone (although I had some soft reboots). It's stable, fast, and has fairly good battery life.
Thank you!
Long press back to kill is available in developer option.
Sent from my GT-I8190 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Ok, now I feel stupid
Where are exactly the Developer Options in this ROM?
I have no Developer section in System Settings!
Go in "about phone", scroll down to "build number" and press it a bunch of time fast. This should unlock the dev menu.

Cool trick! Thank you Nemo!
You're welcome. Quick question, what is "4 way reboot"?
Sent from my GT-I8190 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

If it's what I think it is, it's in "developer options". It's called "advanced reboot".

Yes that what I meant!
I found everything I wanted under the dev options.
Thank you for your help my friend!
Don't mention it.

Rome ok. It is also possible to assign someone sms tones. only a problem exists.
the load of phone in reach of 100% after 5 minutes, the phone automatically turns off. can this be fixed?
sorry but my english is not so good.
Do you mean that the memory is used a 100% or are you talking about the battery?

Did you do a factory reset before flashing and what build are you running?

Disable soft keys?

Can anybody tell me how to disable soft. keys on my phone cause i dont like it :/
And what is best, to use pie control after that or?How to make something simmilar like on pac rom ?
Thanks!
Have you tried looking for the answer before posting ? I think you should take a look at the answer Google can give you ! If this doesn't help the words you are looking for are "remove navigation bar"
For pie control the option I once used was lmt launcher but maybe there are better options now. I think there are many versions on the play store.

Yes, Pie Control is good. Choose one, there are more than one on the playstore, just look, which one fits best

I use the app hide soft keys it allows me to hide the soft keys when I'm not using them but bring them back with one tap. I can change how it looks the icons, the size and transparency. If you want all the features you have to pay but the free version works
