Hi,
I don't think this is in the right place but i am unable to post under the developers area for assistance and everyone has told me this is the best place to get some help.
I am looking to get rid of my root for my HTC One on an O2 network and I think i need to get the boot loader locked which i can do then run a RUU file that matches my phone. The RUU's i have run seem to be the wrong ones and i am at a loss to which one i should be using, when i go through the steps it says that my version is 1.27.206.1 does this mean i need to find the version that is O2 and 1.27.206.1 for it to work?
I have also tried an OTA but this just stops at the boot loader screen and i think this is because some of the stock apps are wipe. Any help would be much appreciated.

You do need that RUU but it isnt available yet.

Thanks for the very quick response, ok that narrows it down quite a bit, would you happen to know which RUU i would be looking for when it does come out? will it be a specific O2 RUU for the version 1.27.206.1? Also where would i check for it once its released?
Is their anyway around the OTA update to remove the Root atm?

You would need an ruu that has the same software or newer than yours. The key bit would be the .206 section. There is an RUU thread here. You could flash one of the stock nandroid backups in the RUU thread. Add the apps back. There is a .zip somewhere then remove the stock recovery and flash the ota.

I would but I'm on my phone using tapatalk so I can't really at the moment sorry. The ruu thread is on this part of the forum though. And the other bit should be in the dev section.
Ok, no worries, i have downloaded the UK Nandroid rom and flashed it to my device but i still have everything on my phone like games that i had before flashing it which is a little odd.
i have also found the stock apps from a post on here like you said and have them all installed on the phone. Could someone explain the next steps please,
why dont you just use the unroot in the superuser apps? SuperSU has the option.
also solloris
Hi, i have tried this option but when the phone reboots the application is back and the bootloader is still showing as Tampered.
Hey everyone, I need help flashing an RUU... I don't know the steps. I can't get LTE on my phone which I should have in my area so that's why I want to flash an RUU to get back to stock to see if it fixes my problem.
I'm on AT&T with S-OFF, bootloader unlocked, super CID... What do I need to do? I'm on a mac which is why all the guides I've found saying "just run the .exe" won't work for me.
If anyone could just write down some steps I'd be very grateful
Thanks!

I didnt do any cracks or customization to my phone just using as it is since unboxing.. please help me how it could be normal and how can I get regular updates . It also gives some message in startup .

Seems like your phone is rooted do you don't receive any official updates. You can boot in boatloader and see if your phone is unlocked, shutdown your phone and start your phone by holding power and volume down button at the same time. See what it says there, probably "unlocked" and s-on or s-off. After that chose recovery and see which recovery you have.
Go to settings - About Phone - Software Info and post what it says.
The device you bought was not new. It was unlocked and had or has a custom recovery installed.

If I have stock ROM (restored from nandroid) and reflashed stock recovery, I won't get OTA updates if my phone is rooted?

It looks like it is a development model (not DEV edition), which should not be sold anyways.
You can root and flash custom ROM, but I highly doubt that you will receive updates for a development model.
Thanks for your reply..
Here is the picture of bootloader.( in the last, didnt know how to post here)
Can it be revert back . While in bootloader I saw couple of options of rebooting or to factory setting , wipe out n all.. will it be helpful .

Well since your bootloader is already unlocked and you got the custom recovery, you can always flash the latest custom rom that has Android 4.2 or 4.3. Otherwise you can bring the phone back to stock if possible. They're how to guides on how to do that on XDA.

Well your bootloader is still 1.44, so you still have the option to get S-Off, which would allow you to remove TAMPERED, and also allow you to return completely back to stock using a RUU.
How familiar are you with all this? I would recommend reading some of the guides, but if you do want to get back completely to stock you'll probably need to S-Off.
Can you post "fastboot getvar all" (and remove your IMEI and serial number before posting).
No updates
thanks nkk and farang..
yes i have done few time changing stock and versions on my previous htc but please tell me after all this will it be like a regular phone and can get all updates and in future i dont need to change ( in short i wont be sticking to same rom )
thank you

Factory reset will just reset your current Rom. So you have two options, 1 flash an other rom, which is already 4.3 and learn what a custom Rom can do for you, welcome to xda or 2, you can revert to stock version by flashing the right RUU for your version, but you need s-off to do this. You should do this now your bootloader is still 1.44. Anyway whatever you gonna do, you will have some homework to do!
thanks nkk and farang..

First you need to install the HTC drivers (http://d-h.st/4LL), and adb/fastboot sdk (http://d-h.st/ja1) credits to @vomer; please read through the first part of his guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365506
Once you've installed HTC drivers, and unzipped adb sdk to C:\ADB, reboot your phone into bootloader -> FASTBOOT, connect your phone to the PC, FASTBOOT will change to say FASTBOOT USB.
On your PC: "CD C:\ADB" then type "fastboot getvar all" and post results back (remember to remove IMEI and serial number)

OK, that tells us you have a Vodaphone UK version, not Asia, not a problem.
Since you're still on 1.44 hboot, I would recommend to get S-Off, as you will not be able to do that later. Continue followoing vomer's guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365506 and the original revone thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582
Do the S-Off, no need to SuperCID at this time.
Why S-Off you ask, it would allow you to run any RUU (upgrade & downgrade) for any country and/or carrier.
Regarding SIM Lock, is your phone tied to any specific carrier at the moment? I assume not, since I dont think you're on Vodaphone UK, so the phone is/should arleady by SIM-unlocked.
Continue and report back, so we proceed with the next steps.
PS: Press the thanks button if I helped

Hi fellas! I'm kinda scared and confused right now.
I just bought a 2nd hand HTC One M7
and I noticed that it is rooted something like ViperOne, wanted to change it back to stock.
So I did some things with fastboot and now I'm stuck and I don't know where to start.
Can anyone help me with this one? This is my first time with root things so kinda be patient with me
Should I post the information about fastboot getvar all?
Yeah, maybe with more info we can help you.
Remember to remove your imei and serialnum
Check also this thread @nkk71

What options do you have in the bootloader screen and what exactly have you done/tried?
Which guides did you follow on the attempt to go back to stock?
Do you know which custom recovery it has?
I have the options of
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
IMAGE CRC
SHOW BARCODE
I tried doing the fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
I don't know what I was doing I was desperate
Kinda busy at work specially I work at night can't bring it to an expert or some sort.

you have to do:
- Re-Unlock the device
- Flash a custom recovery
- Flash the guru zip for back to stock
- Relock the bootloader
Do someone has the patience to guide me in a step by step procedure and help me find the necessary tools. Should we do this with reply to this post?
I've downloaded alot of zip files almost went over my internet limit around 1gb per zip.
Thank you so much guys. Good thing there is XDA, active members

Edit; What Guich said =)
So right now I'm currently downloading rumrunner since in the guide I should go down to HBOOT 1.44 since I have 1.54 is that correct?
And how about the versions of cid modelid radio I don't have any idea about that

Gotcha! Right now I'm following the video of QBking unlocking my bootloader just give me couple of minutes see if this will work.
On nkk71's guide it says i need to remove the tampered and relocked
But on QBking's video i need to unlock it?
Is it the same or it is for a different thing?
Hi folks,
Could someone please clarify something before I start obtaining the root magic.
Is there a stock O2 RUU around anywhere in case I need to revert back?
I have found an O2 OTA update, but not sure how this would work with regards to returning to stock. File is only 230mb.
If I created a nandroid back up (usually do) first, would this suffice?

Hmm don't know, I am not from the UK but since that's a pretty common carrier chances are there is a RUU for O2. Wait for someone local to comment here, then we'll know for sure.

I've looked every where for RUU but cant find one, the only option is nandroid - referanced
