Someone Helpme - Moto X Q&A

I have a Claro PR Moto X and trying to root it, it has the camera update and want to know if theres a good tutorial that i can follow to acomplish this.
Have tried with the RockMyMoto with no luck, has i dont see the option to usb debbuging...either i activate it by Holding down the Power button with volume down and selecting Bp Tools amd then appears but after following the process with telnet in the second reboot it just stays in Re-Run the command again, and the usb debbuging dessapears i can't get past the Second Step :'(

I think usb debugging is under the developer options (tap several times the "Compilation number" under the about phone setting) .
I'll report your thread cause it is on the wrong section.

very much thanks, rooted succesfully
and srry for the thread problem.

I don't know if your problem come from vista but just try to reboot your PC and press F8 many times and check an option to disable signed driver or something like this . Or you can install Raw driver . That's what I did and it work

Try wug's toolkit, it has step-by step drivers for most every windows system including vista. I've had to set the drivers manually before too, but it's easier if you can follow on-screen directions. Don't worry, we're all noons in some regard. We just have more we can learn here. -Ara

thanks guys,
i aint going to lie mskips method is infuriating in my opinion.after every step i get "waiting for device" and nothing happens, succesfully completed steps 1 to 3 then on the root step it does some stuff my tablet turns off then comes back on normally not to fastboot mode and on my pc it says "waiting for device"... waiting for what?????
so i decided i woulg give step 8 a try using TWRP and after it does some stuff succesfully exactly the same happens,"waiting on device" and n7 turns off and then comes on in normal mode???
is that the process complete?

Are you trying to do the all in one click? I tried that and it did not work for me. I had to do each option separately and it worked.

Use Wug's, it gives you step by step visual instructions. I followed his method and installed drivers manually on my home computer, theis after fighting with two other computers previously. The only thing to note is that you will have to reboot into fastboot manually, then install the drivers and rebooot the computer in the end.

ok i'll use Wugs, will the fact that my tablet has completed some steps effect anything or just carry on like nothing has happened??
+1 for Wugs.
I had an issue where it wouldn't root. I rebooted, re started, unplugged, restarted PC, etc. I finally uninstalled WUGS toolkit and installed again. Worked like a charm and there are about 3 YouTube videos showing you step by step.

If 'Developer Options' are hidden you have to go into About phone and keep tapping the build number (JDQ39) until it says 'You are now a developer!'
You can then go into Developer Options and turn USB Debugging on

Thanks for sharing this! I was about to ask the same question, good thing I stumbleupon this post :good:
Could anyone please explain me the purpose of this feature...? I have turned it on, but every time I connect my One to my PC with USB the phone doesn't show before I tap this USB debugging and turn this function off...? (Windows 7)
Thanks, that helped me as well!

Error device not found

I don't know how much this comes up but, my one can't use adb. I've gotten the required drivers and usb debugging checked on. Still says device not found. I've tried changing cables, computers and resetting my phone and no dice. I'm kinda at a loss on what to do. I'm running the 4.3 original sprint.

My pc at home works just fine...my work pc on the other hand has this same issue. Home pc is 32 bit, work pc is 64 bit. It's either something driver related or because it's 64 bit, I haven't had a chance to really diagnose yet. I would start by completely removing htc drivers and try again. Or maybe try a different pc if no luck getting it to work. This weekend I will try to get it working on my work pc and report back what I figured out.
That's the weird thing about it. I've reinstalled drivers, put it on different computers, x64 bit included and nothing works it just says device not

From what I can find about the "Offline" status is that you need to update your Android-Sdk there have been quite a few updates recently.
Also try this for configuring your drivers correctly
(If you are using Windows 8.1 this will most likely not work)
On your PC go to device manager and find your phone(usually M7WLS), right click and select properties
Select the driver tab
Select update driver
Select browse my comp
Let me pick
Look for ADB USB device or similar should be one of the first couple choices
Select MyHTC install and you should be good
That's the thing my old sdk was working fine that's the thing I have the drivers updated ok. It recognized my device but it shows my phone to be offline.

Well I got further this time it says device not authorized. Please check the confirmation dialog on your device.
It's progress it seems but I never got a confirmation on my device.

When I went to Device Manager, my HTC One showed up as MTP USB Device instead of ADB. Could you shine a little light on it for me? This is my first time trying to unlock and root my device. What software/driver I would need? So far I only have the HTC Driver installed.
Thank you

Uninstall everything HTC
Unplug your phone
Reboot your PC
Install these drivers
Plug in phone and let it install the drivers(it will install drivers in recovery, bootloader, and booted to your OS)
Then do the steps I posted if you still have problems.
I followed what you did, and followed the instruction you posted earlier as well. I went to Driver tab and tried to update the drive and there wasn't an option for ADB USB Devices. I unchecked the recommended box and still came up with nothing :/ Is there anything else I need to install?
Sorry to bother you again

That is the way I always fix driver issues. I'm kinda out of ideas. I'm usually fixing someones phone remotely so without being able to see your PC I can't offer any other advice.
BTW do you happen to be using Windows 8.1?

I had to update the SDK and the computer was able to recognize my HTC One. Not sure if you have encounter this before...
I unlocked my phone, install TWRP 2.500 with Toolkit v3.1. And when I went into the recovery, the touch screen won't work. I did some research and it seems I need to install new version of TWRP. However, I'm not sure how to install it without using the toolkit... and most people talked about GooManager... but my device isn't rooted yet... I was gonna root it using TWRP but the touch screen wouldn't work. So I'm stuck :/

Get v2.6.3.0 from here and put it in the toolkit folder where the other version of twrp is located and remove 2.5.0.0 then try again

succeed in installing CM11 on my 4x
How exactly did you try to unlock the bootloader?
There are plenty of tuts and tools on this forum. If you're trying the 'fastboot oem unlock' one, I don't believe you need to boot into fastboot mode manually.. Make sure you have ADB and the latest drivers installed, connect your phone with USB debugging turned on and type the few commands mentioned in unlocking threads.

Nexus 6 not detected by any computer

Hi, I did a search on this forum and can't find an answer...
My Nexus 6 isn't detected by any computer that I've tried, either Windows 7 or 8. I've installed the drivers and entered the appropriate settings in developer options (enable USB debugging). My purpose is to manually install the 5.1 update since I'm on AT&T and who knows when it'll get here?
I'd really appreciate any help.
Using the USB cable that comes with the phone?

Check out my thread here. I had similar issues. My problem was not that the computer wouldn't detect the phone, but that it wouldn't detect the phone once in Recovery mode. Try downloading Wug's NRT and run the driver install utility. I believe that's what fixed it for me.
My pc will not report my phone with adb devices, but it responded to fastboot reboot commands, so i went ahead and flashed both radio and bootloader for 5.1. Worked fine. With the phone booted into android os, it would report id. I didn't read Lucky's thread yet. So much to read, so little time!
