Not any different from the return to stock guide. Not sure why you thought your X would be any different.
i would consider skipping... fastboot oem config carrier vzw since you don't have a Verizon device.
Also, consider using mFastboot instead of fastboot for all commands.

Downgrade from RETBR 6.0 to RETCA 5.1?

I was wondering if it's safe to downgrade from a rooted retbr (6.0) to retca (5.1) and then take the retca ota to 6.0? I am also using a XT1097.

You don't need to downgrade, there's already a full firmware of RETCA 6.0 for XT1097, that you can flash with fastboot:

Return to Stock? XT1097 RETCA

I was wondering how I would return my moto x to stock firmware. Am I just able to flash the stock firmware files? If so, can anyone provide the latest retca 6.0 firmware files for xt1097 as I don't want to FUBAR my device. If it counts for anything, I was on MPE24.49-18 marshmallow.

Need major help! Moto E5 Play starts at fastboot flash mode after restoring firmware!

Hey guys,
I have run into a bit of a snag. I have a Moto E5 Play going straight to fastboot flash mode after attempting to restore the stock ROM.
I was trying to root this device after installing TWRP. Now all this stuff has happened. I'm at a loss on how to just get the phone back to operational state.
I ran this to restore the firmware and it didn't work:
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot erase DDR
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
PS: I am a total NOOB!
Do that last step. Fb mode clear again

Which stock firmware do I need to use for my XT1900-1 model X4?

I have a XT1900-1 that says "android one" on bootup and has the following in the system information FCC ID idht56wk1, software variant: google_fi, software channel:retus and I am trying to find out which firmware from here I need. I got the phone from Credo Mobile which uses the Sprint network if it makes a difference.

And to update when a new security update comes out I just remove "fastboot flash partition gpt.bin" and "fastboot erase userdata" lines from what you posted above before flashing it and then after the update is installed reinstall twrp and magisk, right? Since once twrp and magisk are installed OTA updates don't work.
