HTC Pushed an update to my HTC One Dev Ed tonight..
1.29.1540.16
When it tries to flash the update it just goes into TWRP recovery. No other actions.
I then drilled down to the directory that it downloaded to /data/media/downloads and tried to flash with TWRP.. no dice.
Here is the update.. but honestly I don't know what it does.
any Idea on what is preventing the flash?

It only work on stock recovery, not on any custom recovery like TWRP or CMW.

You must go back to stock recovery in order for the update to successfully flash on your device.
You don't need the update from HTC, just go and flash the latest revolution 10.2 rom, it is running 4.2.2 and it has some nice performance tweaks. And it isn't modified so it's running sense 5.

How to do you go back to a stock recovery? Been down that road and it still didn't update.

For some of us, going to a different ROM is not a viable choice, and frankly a solution to load a different ROM does not answer the original question.
Hi I have the same problem here.
When I try to install stock 4.2.2, the phone reboot & automatically enter TWRP & thus stock update was unable to run.

None of the HTC direct updates will work while TWRP is installed.
you will have to
Fastboot flash (stock recovery .img)
then the updated from HTC works with no problems. pst if you can't find the img
I'm forgetful and can't remember the procedure I used to install TWRP on my rooted Exhibit which had CWM at the time. I now need to install TWRP on my girlfriend's Exhibit, which is rooted with the stock root (no custom ROM, just rooted) and which already has CWM.
I will copy the TWRP file onto her external SD card. I will then boot into CWM recovery, and flash the TWRP zip file. After I do that, when I reboot the phone, how does the phone now which recovery I want to use? Does TWRP over-write or wipe out the CWM when you flash it? Must I make a selection for my default recovery choice?
I am a dummy and I should remember this stuff, since I already went through this on my phone.
By the way, I am installing AOIP on her phone. I have really liked it on mine, after trying Slimbean and Nexus4 and CM10 etc. Her tired old phone on the rooted stock ROM is giving her fits. So it is time for TWRP and AOIP.

Once you flash it it will overwrite cwm so it will be the only recovery. If you wanna go back to cwm just flash that over twrp.

When you flash a recovery zip it overwrites the recovery partition in your phone. You don't have to choose anything because it will stay TWRP until you flash a different recovery.

Like I mention in every one of these threads, Status 7 is, at least 99% of the time, a bad download. Redownload and verify the MD5 checksum.
The MD5 for the official nightly is "513639551c586888db38bc9b17c7dab2". Use this program to verify the MD5 checksum.

I'm having the same problem with every single 4.4 and 4.4.x rom. I've tried removing the lines of code method already, running 6.0.2.8 cwm

4.4 needs the latest CWM to install. Try using Philz Touch Recovery or install the latest img from the Clockwork website.
I don't know if any of you guys solved your issues but you need to download cm11 onto external SD card then download philz touch version of cwm also on ESD card. Flash philz touch in your already existing cwm whatever version that may be. I forgot if it will boot back into recovery automatically but get back into recovery. If you are soft bricked get back in recovery by holding the power and vol up button I think and just flash rom as normal wipe data/cache/dalvik etc. That's how fixed my status 7 and flashed OSE 4.4.2 and loving it. Hope I helped.

So I was able to update my recovery but now every single rom that I try to flash ends up stuck at the motorola logo. I don't know what to do. I can still get into recovery but no rom works.

Try flashing Phil's Recovery, it should be version 6.0.4.5. Once I flashed Phil's I have not had a failed flash of any 4.4 Rom.
Here is the link in case you need it.

Maybe try going back to stock and starting over. Whenever I have strange problems like this and everything checks out, I revert to stock and start over.

I recently rooted my sprint htc one (not very pleasant since I had to wipe my whole phone). I have installed TWRP and I am running the stock HTC ROM 4.06.651.4 and have root access. I keep getting the alert for an update from sprint about the 4.06.651.9 update. I cannot install since it takes me to TWRP if I try to install it. Is there a way to install this update without completely wiping my phone again? If so how?

You can flash the stock recovery and download on the phone and install, then when all done, flash TWRP and re-root, thats only if you lose it of course.
Stock recovery: https://www.mediafire.com/?3kwe7hiq9qeusdb
Just flash via fastboot flash recovery Stock_recovery.img
Then install OTA
then flash TWRP again, this should work, as I have done it before.
But not if you have a hotspot hack...
We do need a stock/rooted/hotspothacked 4.06.651.9 build that we can flash via fastboot.
Thank you, that worked perfectly! I am now rooted with stock ROM and 4.06.651.9 without losing any content.

You can try flash image GUI, it's free here on the forums or you have to pay in the play store. I use that to flash twrp recoveries, I don't see how it wouldn't work with stock.

I'm on Play market and TWRP shows my device is not compatible and wont allow me to download and install, and CWM installed but when I try to setup device to install recovery it says it cannot connect check connection...I thought TWRP was compatible with my device and the new MM update...?
I am rooted and unlocked, I used the toolkit.
Thanks guys! I'm waiting in anticipation cus I am itching to flash my first ROM on my Nexus!

twrp recovery isnt a market app, and cwm recovery does not exist for a necus 6. twrp you need to flash via fastboot. after you have root, you can install/update twrp via an app.
So when I rooted I recall TWRP showing up on my phone in the process...does the root toolkit remove the recovery after the root?
Sorry if these are silly questions, its been years since I rooted a device and I've never used adb until recently...
I have solved my issue. I now have TWRP and am running Pure Nexus and its badass!!
