Link is up!!.. or is that the wrong 4.3 that I downloaded?
__________________________________________________________________________________________________
Well, it looks like kitkat.. is fast like kitkat.. Hmm.. probably not 4.3..
Booted up, smooth and fast.. so far all settings seem to work, no app issues.. Very nice work..

Playstore is a little crashy... if I try to download/install more than 1-2 apps at a time it crashes..

Good job. I did a manual build last night but seems the same as the one you uploaded.
I see it's also missing the widget enable control in Settings.
I've got Play store crashing but must be related to the change in DPI, as I'm dirty flashing from my unofficial build that had default DPI.

I think GEL won't be coming to SlimKat until Google releases a working official APK in the Play Store. Google is probably holding off until they find it stable enough.

Installed with CWM 6.0.4.3, TWRP 2.6.3.0 won't work. And it seems faster and smoother than build 2. Thanks for awesome work.

For all those having playstore issues are you using slimgapps beta 1? Are you using ART?

I download the full slimkat gapps instead which contains GEL. It's running smooth. My only concern is location service sucking up battery even in battery saving mode.

Hello Folks,
can it be, that Widgets don't work on lock Screen? At least I can't find the Options in the security menu.

Oh, lockscreen widgets are disabled for low memory devices, which includes the Nexus S. I believe at least some the settings should be shown, such as to disable maximized widgets as these are disabled.
To enable widgets in lockscreen just change ro.config.low_ram=true to false in /system/build.prop and reboot using your preferred method. This has the collateral effect of enabling Ok, Google hotword. Might make the device slower thou.

[MOD] Search Key Remap for all ICS ROMs - 6/22/2012

Yola.
Guess what? This will probably be the final version of this mod! We were unnecessarily over complicating the search key remap. Well there. Fixed it. This should work on every ICS ROM for our device. But I've tested it on CM9, MIUI, AOKP, and Paranoid. No promises.
This is a slight modification to remap the search button to Recent Apps. I think it's loads more useful and destroys that extra half second of time it takes to hold down the home button. Think I'm being anal?(I am) You try using the capacitive epic parts mod. Holding down the button just doesn't work sometimes. And that makes me a sad panda.
I will be maintaining the search key remap for sure. I still need to look into the app switcher a bit more.

Since we have a variety of roms, are people interested in these mods for all varieties of our ICS roms?

+1 to aokp, is it possible to get this on miuiv4 as well? Jw. Also, the search key mapping sounds good too. But, doesn't this already pop up when you long press the home key? I'm also not sure, but I'm thinking cm9 will have options for long pressing menu, home, and search keys upstream.

Yeah alpha 0 and 0.1 are build 28 and the only mods that are interchangeable between builds are apps because the system is different. My question for the dev is will this be updated to b29 or are you just going to wait to b30 because I'm not moving from b28 without this.

Its really really stable its just as good is alpha 0.1 but is on 4.0.4.
Edit: forgot to mention it only is experimental because b29 was only officially released on a few phones.

Yeah, I can see why you didn't bother doing it for an "experimental" version but it is just as stable as the previous builds so I've been running it as my daily driver.
I will work on the 2 Mods for AOKP build29.
Should be posted later tonight.

[ROM][AOSP] Primerunner

Encouraged by the people in the Trinity Four Thread, I'd like to present the Primerunner on XDA. It aims to be a simple and lightweight rom based on AOSP. Stability is also of critical concern to me. Should be usable as a daily driver.
It was initially built -with fun in mind- for my friends and me, but I was persuaded to share it, so here you are.
Some features of the rom
Primerunner^TM navbar - automatic layout change from 3 to 4 buttons
enhanced QuickSettings with support for long-press/click
pulling notifications in the top-right corner opens QS
custom bootanimation by uRRs
custom navbar icons by uRRs (moved to a separate zipthemer addon)
custom wallpapers by buddhalou
Koush's Superuser
enhanced power menu, only visible if unlocked
notification led customization
theme engine
minimal options
loads of bugfixes and optimizations "under the hood"
built from source
bull****-free
Extras
uRRs' Predator-style ZipThemer softkeys, packaged by @smenes
simple Primerunner wallpapers by @buddahlou
Sony Sketch fonts by @smenes
Primerunner theme engine theme (beta)
Still some things to do...
various cosmetics, theming
own settings front-end for QS, sync tile
move wallpaper contributions to own apk done
persistent Primerunner navbar mode
other things i probably don't remember
...
Shout-outs
for keeping their source open all the time. Couldn't have learned so much how things work in Android without them:
everyone living out the open-source philosophy, especially
the Evervolv team
the CyanogenMod team
the AOKP team
the Trinity/Rasbean team
and Sparksco
Instructions
download and flash via recovery (gapps already included)
flash your favorite kernel afterwards, if applicable
if you're coming from another rom, perform a wipe first
it is rumored that a wipe is not always needed, but this is unsupported here
Complete history

Enjoy!

Been running this ROM for 2 days since stumbling across it in the trinity thread; hands down one of the smoothest and fastest Roms I've ever tried. Currently running it with Matrix 6.0 gpuOC and its smooth, fast and I'm getting amazing battery life. Love the auto 3 to 4 nav bar and custom icons (maybe prefer some different icons but they're cool). It's got all the tile options I need, only request would maybe be some percentage battery mods (which I'm sure there are some flash able ones I could apply but didn't want to risk messing up anything with your ROM as it's running so smooth!). Thanks for your great work

A bit off topic but I just compared the details of your scores to mine (I'm running Jellybro) and noticed that the biggest difference between this ROM and mine is in the RAM performance. I'm getting identical scores in graphics and IO (I get 7391 IO in quadrant). I can also deduct from the scores that only the floating point performance is better while the integer is even. I do have slight clock advantage as I am running 1836.
I hope this info is helpful

graphics should be the same, as we are limited to 60fps(there are hacks to increase this, but its not a true more than 60 fps), the i/o should be similar as it will vary a little up/down per run.
I can't get the quick settings control panel to save to save the order I want the tiles to be in. Doesn't seem to change for me. Other than that this ROM is very nice and stable. Love the nav bar soft keys, very cool.

You have to enable the tiles in the order you want. After that, just reboot. Everything will be fine.
I know it's pesky. We got to deal with that, until we got a new settings frontend.

[ROM] ChameleonOS

http://www.chameleonos.org/
Chameleon OS (or ChaOS for short) is a custom Android ROM that gives the user more control than they can experience on any other Android ROM. Starting with a CyanogenMOD base, we customize each piece to give ultimate control while maintaining the simplicity we all love about Android. The most notable feature of ChaOS is the theme engine, which can apply different pieces of themes in a true mix-and-match style. The launcher has been completely overhauled with tons of options that you'd normally need to download a third-party launcher for, such as home screen previews, folder sorting, and folder icon styles. The Messaging app has also had some UI retouches, including messaging bubbles and quick emoji button.
The entire framework of ChaOS has been modified around the theme engine, allowing for custom fonts, boot animations (with animated preview), and themes. No longer do you have to try to find the perfect theme, with Chameleon OS you can patch it together with your favorite pieces from different themes. Messaging, Phone, Status Bar, icons, everything can be set completely individually from each other which provides the capabilities to completely re-imagine your phone. Creating themes for the ChaOS Theme Engine is superbly simple and has extreme versatility.
Even with all of the features we've currently implemented, ChaOS will continue to mature with even more refined settings and features. We will be completely open source and will welcome developers to join us, whether it be by maintaining a device or utilizing our gerrit review. Even if you're not a developer, your voice will not go unheard. We will continually poll our users for the most wanted features and do our best to implement them.
Credits do not go to me.. I did not create this.

So far, best ROM I have ever used my n4. One request to make it perfect (in my opinion), anyway to get network speeds with individual upload and download stats in the status bar? If not, no worries. As long as the bloat stays down, I'll be a loyal follower.

Thanks, that's a great thing to hear.
As far as individual speeds in the status bar, I'm not sure how easy that would be.
I have been thinking about adding network traffic to the status bar though.
I'll look into it

The individual upload and download speeds are implemented into CarbonRom from chaOS I beleive. So it should be difficult to cherry pick.
Tried to attch screenshot but xda app is being stupid. It does look good though.

Ahh I found it, trying to integrate at the moment.
In the new build there's at least incoming network status.

What exactly is it that you are looking for out of those commits?
I made the menu addable to the navbar again; is that what you were asking for?
Build 3:
Changelog:
QS flippy tiles
Made menu addable to navbar
Removed ringtones and notification sounds
Removed Thyrus Holo Black theme
Slim commits
Bug fixes
...that's it
But the ROM is ~115 Mb now.
Ask if you want stuff to be in the ROM.

Another impressive ROM! Congrats.
Using Identicons without Xposed? Compiled-in? (Actually Xposed only allows it to assign an icon to a new contact. All extant contacts can be assigned/reassigned as an app.)

Sticking with the omni for now. Runs better, at least for me, than cm-11 and derivatives.
It is best to test all features possible before posting.

I'm sorry guys, but I'm gonna have to close this one...
PixelROM is created and maintained by a banned XDA member, which means his work is banned from XDA as well...
