Wobbly power button - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, so I notice the power button has a bit of sideways movement
Brand new phone. Is that normal?

It is, at least mine is wobbly too, does not effect it's function though.
I guess it's due to the waterproof membrane between the metal cover and the mechanical switch underneath.

That's close to my guess too. I'm a very picky ocd kind of guy. Now I fee better, thanks.

When my screen slide up its scratching away the black/silver finish next to the left side of the keyboard. Anyone else having this problem? I also called verizon and i will be receiving a new one.

Never really noticed until I read this but mine is actually doing it just a little on both sides of the keyboard. They are sending you a new one just cause it is doing that?
Called and verizon had no problem sending me a new one

Yeah if its a new phone, they usually have no problem exchanging it out and making you happy.... they don't want a refund

ah, there is definitely a wear problem there. looks like the sliding mecahnism is scratching the paint. that's too bad, i really like this phone. my guess is a replacement will do the same thing. maybe some protective tape around the bezel will fix the issue.
I have had mine for a little over a week, use the keyboard for everything and dont have this issue.
I can see a spot where the screen slides its a little darker than the rest but does not seem to be removing the paint or anything like that.

i ran my fingernail over the area and it's definitely scratched. the question is the durability of the paint. i've only had my phone since Friday evening of last week and i'm already noticign the wear.
I haven't had any scratching when I slide it up

I've had mine for about a week and I haven't noticed any peeled paint, it doesn't feel rough or scratched either.

wow! mine is definitely not that bad. yet.
I'm using the snap on case for the holster, and I know when I slide it out, I can feel some dragging.
With it off though, smooth as silk.
I never put a case on my phone. Why take away the beauty of it. I have insurance and warranty if something goes wrong or breaks.

Yeah I'm having the same issue. I've had it for about a month now, and a while ago I would hear a scraping when the phone opens. I noticed there are two clips underneath the screen that probably help the phone STAY closed/open. This is where the scraping is for me. Mine is pretty bad at this point, now have silver lines about half a cm thick on the back of my screen. Pretty sad. I know the OG Droid had this issue after alot of wear and time, but this is early. :'(
Do you carry the phone in your back pocket? looks like compression scratches.
No. Only had that current phone for two days before i noticed it.

What gap?
The gap issue that most of the people have between the aluminium and the plastic
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
The gap that most people refer to is between the speaker grille and the plastic rim around the body. As the speaker grilles are attached to the phone with adhesive, the best way to get rid of the gap would be using heat. Of course, that's something that the average person wouldn't try...

No, no magnet on note 2 to work like note 3

very sad news indeed. so much envy to S4 and Mega users.
You can try to use some smart cover app that uses proximity sensor to on the screen upon flipping of a flip cover if it helps
Still no s view though

Nice! Do you know what app can do this?

I'm using this
http://www.ebay.fr/itm/BE4K-For-Sam...lePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item4d124a5f33
Took it from uk seller for less than 5€
It's not the S view, but I think you can use proximity thing to light it up with hands, not sure, I just hit a button when needed
Other than that, I love that case, No need to open it, screen is protected, tho it may not be protected enough if you drop it, that's the only cons for me, but I prefer protection against dust.
I had a similar one in past, full gel transparent, but the flip didn't have anything to keep it closed, so edges weren't always working and things could go between the screen and cover...

Dust under scree

Hello everybody,
A few months ago I noticed a few specks of dust under my screen. Today I noticed that it was much more than it was before.
I saw on youtube there was a way to disassembly this phone (with unscrew screws and stuff) but I thought that is way to risky with putting it back.
Now I'm wondering, is there a easy way remove the screen (without rescrewing)
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
Same here. 3 points of dust. I repair phones at my work, but our lg is really tricky. I can live with the dust.

Me too
Gesendet von meinem A210 mit Tapatalk
How do you expect to take the phone and screen apart without unscrewing it? If you are semi-competent it is an easy enough task - I did it with no problems at all.
I thought there might be a way to do it by heat the screen with a hairdryer or something
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
You should take it to some repair service it will be not that much expensive since its not a repair its cleaning and they will take your screen off them will use new glue which probably will prevent dust going under the screen. Here in my country the procedure will cost arround 10-20 Euro.
That's a good idea

I suspect you're dutch like me, so would you be so kind to let me (or us) know what they charge you?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Indeed, I'm Dutch. I'm just 16 years old so I don't have much income. Currently I'm saving for a new television.
I think that when I bought my television, I'll let "them" clean my screen and tell what they charged me.
(Sorry for the bad English)

Student here, so not much to spend either.. I do take apart phones from time to time, but as maus01 said, our 4x is kinda tricky..
