The built in camera app is actually one of the best I've ever seen on any phone. BUT, vignette's amount of options is incredible, if you play with the settings correctly you can literally take photos and automatically process them with effects etc that would require a copy of photoshop to recreate them with a standard digital camera. Interface on vignette bugs me though, they should take a hint from the camera on the galaxy.
I have a bunch of different ones installed on my phone, Camera Illusion is really fun because it applies the filter in the live view. I also have Retro Camera, Camera 360 and FxCamera.
They are fun to play with but I hardly ever use any of them.
Vignette and FxCamera
On a lighter side, sniper shot is a fun app.

Image Map Plus is the first exif/geodata editor for windows phone 7. Free and Trial versions are fully functional, but have a limit on number of pictures you can save.
Image Map is fun visual way to look at all the pictures you took on a world map. This works by reading gps location information from the image exif data and pinpointing the location of each image on a map.
Additionally this app integrates into your phone Pictures Hub and acts as a powerful and easy to use exif viewer. In addition to location information you can find out about the model and make of the digital camera used to take the picture, date, exposure, f-stop and other useful info.
Exchangeable image file format (Exif) is a standard that specifies ancillary tags used by digital cameras, scanners and other systems handling image files. Not all pictures carry exif data, but if they do and if GPS location info is embedded – Image Map can map it! And now with Plus version you can not only map photos that have GPS location info, but also add this info to photos that don't have it.
'Image Map Plus' is now available too. Image Map Plus allows you not only view, but also edit certain exif fields including location info and this works both for photos you took with your windows phone camera and any other picture saved to your phone. Obviously EXIF metadata editing is done without any changed to actual JPEG image encoding.

Just bought the Plus version. Thank you.
Installed plus version. Will come in handy for documentation. Thanks for the post, might not have otherwise found it.
cool app, gratz!
Hi All,
I have currently completed an Android App called AutoPIX. Its an app designed to automatically take photographs at set intervals, capture the gps coordinants of where the photo was taken and upload this information to AutoPIX.me servers to share online on facebook, twitter, etc...
Features:
Set Interval to Capture Photo and GPS (Time Lapse)
Set Quality of Image to AutoUpload to AutoPIX
Share Album View or Slideshow View
Website Design Mobile Friendly
Enable Camera Flash
My original intention for the app was to attach my phone to a weather balloon and use AutoPIX to take photos of its travels on the way to space and back down. The photos and gps coordinants will be plotted on the AutoPIX.me website to share.... Great Idea but I have concerns about application misuse. Such as:
* The App is silent and can take photos with the screen off and no shutter sound, A Spy App?
* People sharing pornographic pictures
* People taking photos and sharing someones location without their consent and posting this online
* Are there countries that wouldnt allow this app
I have set a Terms of Service on the AutoPIX.me website, is this enough?
Should I be concerned about application misuse?
Should I be concerned about camera app requirement in a Country or State?
Appreciate your feedback

I'm believe I'm looking for a slideshow photo viewing app. Let me explain, I have a project where I need to display information digitally and without any maintenance or power. I figured e-ink is the best technology and if I can find a slideshow program I can rotate the images (which contain graphical information) every few minutes and the battery life should last for days.
Another approach might be converting the images to a PDF document. How do you then automatically rotate through the pages of that PDF document?
Appreciate any suggestions

To rotate simply double click image files in Windows on a PC, rotate buttons at bottom: auto saves.
Best image viewer for android is Quickpic which most replace troublesome default Gallery with, does slideshow and image view settings usually has option to rotate to match aspect if not rotating & saving manually.

Hopefully there's a simple answer to this, and hopefully this is a place to find it!
I'd like to be able to switch between the front, back, and a USB-C connected camera for input to streaming apps (notably Facebook Live, and Zoom conferencing, but would like a more general solution). Ideally, video mixing (e.g., picture-in-picture), would be nice.. The primary application is to stream live interviews, site walkarounds, etc., from a gopro or the camera in a pair of AR goggles. E.g., live stream the view from the head-mounted camera, with an inset view of me, from the phone's front camera.
Right now:
- I can almost do it all from a Microsoft Surface - the basic camera app allows selection from front, back, external USB camera. Control of camera selection is through the system settings dialog.
- On a Samsung Galaxy Note 20, I can't seem to find the equivalent of a system-level setting. The basic camera app allows for picture-in-picture still & video from the front/back cameras - but doesn't seem to have a way to select an external camera. Facebook live allows switching front/back, doesn't seem to do picture-in-picture.
Documentation for all this stuff seems hard to find. I've been pouring through the various android developer sites, and device related sites - lots of stuff on low level code interfaces, nothing on what's actually coming across the cables, and mostly out-of-date youtube videos on how to do very specific things with very specific external video switches, and various downloadable apps that don't seem to work very well.
Which leads to the following questions:
- Are there any deeply buried settings - in Android, Samsung Developer Tools, or Facebook, Zoom, Teams - that let one select a usb camera? (Bonus for allowing picture-in-picture.)
- Any recommendations for an Android video switch/mix application that inserts itself between the system video interface, and standard apps?
Hopefully, amongst all the noise, there's a simple solution.
Thanks very much for any assistance anybody can offer.
