Hey guys. So I got my dev edition today and of course, while trying to root it I broke it and can't get out of fastboot.
I'm trying to download the gsm factory img, but i'm still waiting on the download link from Moto. Anyone have a mirror?

Thanks for the reply. But the Dev edition isn't on that list.
Kinda starting to freak out at the moment.

Ok. I feel like a dumbass right now. ON that whole list, I don't see any dev edition model. Am I supposed to just flash the Tmo one?

Yes, they are identical, tmobile uses the "retail" non branded version of firmware, same as the dev edition.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.
I'm trying to add the file to RSDlite and it's saying it failed to create and that the file path was too long.
Any thoughts?

I deleted the line, put the file back into the .zip and tried again. same error.
Never mind! Fixed it. I was trying to flash the whole .zip. Didn't realize I only had to click on the xml file.
Can I use the Factory image from Motorola?
Hi Guys,
I've got the Fido/Rogers Moto x.
With a unlocked boot loader could I flash the GSM factory image from Motorola?
MOTO X, GSM Dev Edition:
KK 4.4-13.11.1Q2.X-69-3_MR2 (Retail)
Thank you

Yep! There is chance you may lose band 7 LTE support though.
I know I'm a little late to this thread, but I can confirm that the T-mobile 4.4 retail version works flawlessly on Rogers Moto X with unlocked bootloader. LTE appears to be working fine with 50Mbps DL speed which is what I was getting on stock Rogers as well. Everything seems to be in order.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this thread to help me learn

I'm wondering the same thing about the stock firmware for the gsm dev edition. Punit Soni confirmed that all Dev editions come with the camera update already instealled on his google+ page.
But now i'm wondering if anyone has this firmware somewhere. There is this page http://sbf.droid-developers.org/ghost_rcica/list.php that has a list of several versions of the moto x but none of them are the dev editions...that I know of.
Thanks again.

In the AT&T file you want the NON-HLOS.bin and fsg.bin
I have the Verizon Moto X DE, just wondering when Motorola usually gets around to posting the new factory images? When I bought the phone in Dec they already had the latest up so I'm not sure how "timely" they are. Thanks
The following link has the image files. Scroll down to Verizon US and you will find the latest 4.4.2.

Thanks! I've been waiting for motorola to post it up in their dev section. Curious, does that website compile their own images after an OTA or do they get them leaked somehow?

Or am I missing something? I would've figured they'd be out by now. Do not want custom rom or kernel. Just stock rom and no .2 bootloader.

Unlocked GSM Edition XT1053 uses the T-Mobile US "retail" rom which is also the same as the GSM Developer Edition... The SBF has been available for some time from -> http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=0 and is available via direct request from Moto -> https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images
If you're looking for a 3rd party rom, that is a different matter. I haven't paid attention to them

So reading through the Motorola site it also instructs uo relock your bootloader. Is that step actually necessary? I'm trying to gather as much information for when I have to put both my wife's and my Moto X Dev Editions back to stock for the next OTA.

No. You do not need to relock. And you can use RSDLite to flash it rather that mFastboot if you want.

That's awesome, definitely saves a step in re-rooting after the next OTA. I've never had to deal with rolling back to stock to take an update mainly because I've been running CM for so long. Didn't bother putting a ROM on the Moto X because its very clean already. Just rooted to lose all of Verizon's junk apps.
Now to read up on RSDLite.

I have a Telus XT1097. I know that without having a root method atm it is still just speculation but are we aware of any hardware differences or other issues that would make a convert to pure edition (xt1095) impossible?
Thanks in advance!

Have you tried unlocking your bootloader? It seems to me the Telus version is pretty much a Pure Edition, except for the model number... BTW does it have any TELUS bloatware at all?
FYI I believe the 1095 has different frequency bands.
Sent from my Moto X
I have not because as far as i understood the method was exclusively for the xt1095 but I'll give it a shot.
As far as bloatware, the only thing Telus installed on this phone is their "My Account" app. It's an app that you can download from the play store.
It's interesting to see the marketing used on Telus' website to describe the Moto X. The catchphrases are: "Pure Style, Pure performance" and then "Pure Android with the quickest updates". It leads me to believe that Telus will pretty much push out updates as they recieve them from Moto.
I'll be less inclined to root and flash if I see that I get timely updates, after using galaxy phones and flashing for the past 5 years i just want something that works great or of the box.
Regards,
Jeremie

I have XT1093 (US Cellular). The Pure Edition root method works for all variants with unlockable bootloaders. The key is to follow the directions completely. As it only BOOTS the system image rather than INSTALLS the image, it works fine. Boots the image once, installs SU to your system, then reboots to your system.

Sure thing,
I used the multitool to flash that Pure Edition Moto X 2014 (XT1095) ROM (full wipe)
Then flashed ATT Modem (downloaded from graffixnyc website)
Then sidloaded OTA update
Then restored my EFS from my TWRP backup.
Everything booted up fine, except I don't have a cell signal. It asks me for a SIM network unlock PIN. I'm stuck here.... I want to try and flash the telus modem. Not sure why it's asking for a SIM unlock PIN.
I mean how can I back up the modem file for you

It was asking you for unlocking cuz Att modem is sim locked.
So did you manage to successfully convert to 1095? I'd like to try, but I'm a bit worried about the modem issues, I'd need a sim unlocked modem i can use with Brazilian operators.
I'm a noob in moto x developing, so I'm already reading what multitool is and how-to's.

Hi.
So I bought this xt1097 AT&T branded.
I would like to keep only one feature from T-Mobile and it's WiFi calling. Rest of the phone can be stock Motorola.
Is it possible to flash any ROM that would have T-Mobile WiFi calling?
Oh the phone is 5.1 already.
