well for the HD2 running WP7 it works (http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1414126.html) and considering that HD2 and HD7 basically have the same hardware I'm pretty sure it will work. Also HD7 is "newer" than HD2
somwehre in the turotial thread which talks about upgrading the sdcard for the HD7
i recall reading someone having success with a 64gb sdcard
U can always try .
but make sure u unlock yr old sdcard with the xmod cab before removing in case yr new card dont work, u need to put back yr old sdcard again
basically sdcard in wp7 is locked and u remove it and turn on the phone, the OS will think the card is locked and will not recognise , because u did not unlock it first before removing.
So dont ever do this without unlocking the old sdcard.
if u unlocked it, u can format it in the PC and put it back to the phone again it will recognise it as a fresh empty card and issue a new lock and flash to it
This is a security mechanism for privacy reasons built into wp7 Called TFAT in case someone gets hold of yr phone and removes the internal storage to read its contents if yr phone has a lock screen password . So they can still remove the internal storage to read it in PC. To Prevent this WP7 uses TFAT system
The TFAT file system is best suited for non-removable media, such as NAND and NOR flash memory. Removable media can also use TFAT, but there are potential issues when attempting to use a TFAT removable card on a Windows desktop OS. Because there is no implementation of TFAT on Windows desktop OSs.
So this why wp7 removed card are not redeable in desktop win OS
To remove this TFAT limitation u need to unlock the sdcard with the xmod cab
You can also format the card on symbian phone and make it work again normally
I think I read a post about it here, I'll get it.
But it is also true that SDXC cards use a different technology to SDHC

Nokia formatting only works on sdcard which have nodo OS in it
If u have upgraded to mango ,Nokia formatting method wont work .
With mango OS ,, u need to deploy the xmod storage unlock cab before removing it
After this u can format the sdcard in yr PC or desktop computer itself ( No nokia device needed)
If u dont use the xmod unlock cab, the card is locked forever, even nokia devices will not be able to format it

Hmm... I'll have to try the Nokia E63 the next time, if I can get my hands on one. I tried the N95 and it wouldn't recognize or format my original WP7 16gb SD card out of my HD7. I tried all kinds of phones, printer stations and cameras and nothing would work. I ended up flashing Dynamics 7 Mango version to the device and installed Storage Lock Cab via Cab Sender and unlocked 3 WP7 SD cards without any problems.

It's will now make 2 week that my HTC Incredible S don't want to recognize any kind of SD Card so now i can do nothing with my phone.

Almost five time
Bad news for you, but it looks like going to service center is only way
Sent from my awesome Incredible S using Tapatalk
one way of putting media to phone memory is that u shud have root access. if u r a superuser then flash rom again,it may solve the issue if ur not root user then u should probably take ur device to service centre or u cud search web how to gain root access on ur phone..
Your phone will run like crap if you start putting too much stuff on your internal storage... Get your phone repaired or buy a new one.
I've never done it but I would assume you would set your phone to debugging enabled connect to computer and select charge only than use adb or some other windows android explorer to push files to your internal storage. Keep in mind if your running ics sense you'll have about 300 mb of internal storage or Aosp ics you'll have 600 - 500 or gb sense 500 mb or gb Aosp 600 - 750 mb. However your phone will run like crap if you have less than 100 mb of free space.

Well okay thanks for all the answer
I had a smilar problem with my moms sony. It would read my class 4 16gb but not my class 3 8gb. I bought her a 16gb class 4 and it worked perfect. It has something to do with the class of the sd card. Hopef it helps
ello,
I got HTC 8X with built in storage 16GB.
How can I manually install Apps on HTC 8X since it has built in storage [no SD Card]?
I can transfer the apps using USB cable, but there is no option in the store to install it

You can't. If you want to install xap gotten from developers, you need a developer account. If you want to install xap from the windows phone website, you can't.

If we dont have a SD card, could we move apps downloaded to the space you have on the phone when you connect it to the PC ? Does it need to go to a Apps folder or just in the root ?

Maybe next time you would like to look up the specs of the device in question, the 8X which DOES NOT have an sdcard.

No. An explicit sd card is needed.
I have a Nokia 822 with an SD card and I followed the instructions by coping the XAPs to my SD card and tapping on the store tile but the SD card doesn't show up..What am I doing wrong?
http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/How-to/wp8/apps/how-do-i-install-apps-from-an-sd-card
If you've just inserted the SD card or added the .XAP files, you might need to wait a few minutes before you can access your SD card from the Store.

Remember - by this method you can install ONLY original apps downloaded from market store.

X2 memory
Hello once again guys. I use external2internal app to swap between internal memory and sd on my XL and i tried using it on X2 but it does not work. Read somewhere that It’s an app not compatible with android 4.3 because of the vold file. Is there any app so we can install our big apps directly to sd? Thanks and keep up the great work.
