[Q] Atrix HD EB40 clock - Motorola Atrix HD

So we all know by now that the Motorolla Atrix HD is much better when converted to the Atrix HD MAXX by adding the Eb40 battery to the device via swapping out the other one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906371
But what do we think is the best custom clocks to set on the device
for all versions of android especially the new KitKat Roms
Please let me know that Clocks your on and the stability of said clocks
In other news in another thread i posted about Atrix HD Turning off randomly if u know a fix feel free to free my mind with the information
CYI

I think the stock one works fine.

Motorola ATRIX 4G or Lg Thrill 4G?

You people are phone user so please share your experience
Kindly help me to choose from ATRIX or Thrill
i have ARIX but i got an exchange deal with Thrill + Rs.1500($30) INR
From all specs i understand Thrill is overall better phone but
atrix has 1GB ram where 512 in thrill(but still its fast)
thrill has very poor life where atrix has 2000 mah battery.
atrix has better developer support.
thrill has 4.3" 3D screen
What i am concerned is:
1. if thrill play 1080p mkv download from net without convert
2. Games compatibility with thrill
3. video Gtalk
what you people wants to suggest?
My wife has the thrill and I have an Atrix and I can honestly say I love my Atrix and think its overall a better phone. Its smoother in terms of overall use and like you said the Atrix does have quite a bit of developer support.
MIUI is being developed, currently in Alpha 3. CM9 also by the Atrix Dev team. I haven't payed much attention to the thrill development so I can't compare but I'm happy with the support the Atrix gets. The battery life is amazing on the Atrix and even better with custom ROMs once you tweak it to your liking.
My wife has the Thrill so I've used it a bit, but I'm not an expert on it. This is my opinion based on my useage of both phones.
Sent via Atrix 4G, running Dorian's RedPill (CM7) Hybrid.
its a yes to all three questions. ad for number2 it can even play tegra2 games with chainfire installed.
i love my phone. the screen is one of the best i have ever viewed. super easy to see in direct sunlight. crisp and bright. great colors.
Sent from my LG Thrill 4G...
I'd stick with the Atrix till the Thrill gets GB and see how it functions after that. I'm not rooted so the only 3D games I can play (and that even exist) are gameloft and they're really hit or miss on the function and 3D. I use Qik for video chat as Skype does not support it on froyo on this device. I get freezing and reboots all the time so the 512 ram and duel core isn't doing me anygood. I love the 3D but since you already have a good device I'd wait and see.
Thanks all of you for sharing your experience and thoughts.. This is really helping me out...

I would stick with the Atrix and avoid the Thrill 4G. I had a Motoroloa Droid X and was very happy with the wide variety of custom ROMs. I have a LG Thrill 4G, and I wished I would have purchased another phone. LG launched it with Android 2.2 (released May 2010) when the most recent version and most other phones were on the 2.3 series. It is now 2012 and LG has yet to update their OEM ROM to 2.3. There are only rumors that LG will update it to Android 4.0 (aka Ice Cream Sandwitch).
I just installed the nightly Cyanogenmod ROM for the LG Thrill and it might be the the savior, but 3D doesn't work on Cyanogenmod yet. I would stick with Motorola, who is now owned by Google, and more likely to be up to date, and supported by the mod community.
I'd wait until Feb when all the new devices will be announced that's coming out.
Sold my thrill... Got ah Atrix. Like the Atrix better. Course i'm on my own custom ROM. Full cwm recovery. Easy to work with files. Lot of options. And I made money in the end on Ebay.

These were the exact two phones I was deciding between back in October. For me, the Thrill won because the Atrix screen was pretty terrible. It's smaller and has poor contrast, so dark details would just be blacked out. The Thrill has the same IPS screen technology as the iphone 4. I also really enjoy playing with the 3D features on the phone; I'll usually end up taking 2 pictures of things, one in 2D and one in 3D I think the Thrill has a slightly better processor, but the Atrix does have 1 GB of ram, which would be nice. In the end it's up to you, but I chose the Thrill because the screen is the thing you'll be looking at all day, and that won out. 3D N64 emulators also piqued my interest.. I imagine the Atrix 2 would be nice as well, if they fixed the contrast on it.
fixing to help a buddy root and install custom rom on lg thrill and i must say i love my atrix cause this thing looks like its going to be tough time to strap on my nerdy suspenders and put on some coffee cause its going to take us awile:banghead:

I had an atrix and traded it for the o3d rogers version of the thrill. The atrix wa nice but the screen sucked, the colors were so washed out and the camera was crap. Every picture i took looked grainy. I love my o3d but am a little dissapointed about not having 2.3 but its not even about 2.3 but about the new features lg added. Like the 3d conversion and and radio feature. But i wouldn't trade back for the atrix. I'm just worried because the developement here isn't as good as other phones I've had but i believe its due to the proprietary 3d software lg made. I just wish someone could make a simple port of the o3d 2.3 rom for rogers, not much support for rogers

My buddy is trying to choose between the thrill and the infuse.
He is a iphone person but while recently playing with my Transformer Prime he started to get the idea of getting either or but wants to keep his iphone. He would choose the skyrocket but 200-300 is a little steep as of right now.
What does the community say? His last android was the optiums s
I had the atrix, infuse, and now the thrill...they are all great devices. I love the 3d feature and the phone isn't bad when it comes to specs.

Yup. I'm with Trekfan. I've decided I don't even care anymore. The phone does what it needs to do as a phone, sync my calendars, play some games, etc. I'll be going with the padfone or the new upcoming Sony Xperia phone. I doubt I'll be back to LG.

Bye bye bionic, hello LG spectrum

Psych. I'm not leaving. I just haven't seen anyone make one of these posts about the spectrum so I wanted to do it for ****s and giggles.
Be patient. I'm sure we will get more development when ice cream is released on the bionic.

haha
it has the hardware but all the previews made it look laggy
I went the store yesterday to check it out, it was very solid. Love the screen and it very solid built. It wasn't laggy at all compared to the CES demos videos.
If you recall, the early bionic previewed real laggy too...

I absolutely love mines when I have it running on
gingervolt 1.3
overclocked it to 1.5 with blitzkrieg 1.0
v6 superercharger rc4 script
some build prop mods
adrenaline shot v13
ics responsive tweaks
disable bytecode
I'm also getting 3900+ on antutu and 3000+ on quadrant
It's also very stable no screen freeze, no lag, no reboots, and it don't get that hot
I get 8hrs on stock battery heavy use, light - medium usage 10 - 15 hrs
Then I got the bionic for xmas so I gave it to a friend and she loves it too
Recently I helped her overclocked it to 1.9 with blitzkrieg 2.1 and she's getting 4200+ on antutu and 3400+ on quadrant
Battery took a hit though but still good enough to last her through 8hrs light - medium usage

Have you tried the 901 update or the eclipse 2.1 rc rom for 901?
Also did you try to overclock?
I'm on eclipse 2.1 rc and overclocked it to 1188 with extended battery and I absolutely love it. I get 17+ hrs on a single charge with heavy usage
With the 901 update it totally fix all the issues I had when on 893
I use to have BSOD every other day and have to pull battery, data drop every few hrs and have to toggle airplane mode to get data back, screen freeze also have to pull battery, losing apps when move to sdcard
But once I did the manual update to 901 the bionic has been great for about a month and fixed all the issues I had mentioned above
I highly recommend doing the 901 update as i see it makes the bionic be the device it should of been
Then I flashed the eclipse 2.1rc rom with safestrap, it improve the responsiveness and battery
Lastly I overclocked it to 1188 and it was amazing with what the bionic can do now how much quicker it respond
Now I really don't mind waiting next year for my upgrade. Till then there will be quadcores galore with hd display and who knows what the intel will bring to the market after seeing what their medfield chip can do and new lithium batteries that's 5-10x better than what's available now.
Hopefully moto/vzw will update it to ics and unlock the bootloader

Gingervolt wasn't out yet when I had the revolution. People were still trying to figure out how to make custom boot animations and rom development came to a standstill until LG released gingerbread. I was the most disappointed that more rom developers didn't jump on it with its unlocked bootloader, which was the only reason I bought it.

LG revolution also had an unlocked bootloader but rom developers didn't jump on it. We actually got more roms with our locked bootloader than they do with theirs unlocked. Be careful what you wish for because sometimes its not.what you want.

Even though there's only a few roms for lg revolution at that time " homeless, revolt, decrap " but it's all good roms like the bionic there's only few roms also yet all still good.
Now with 901 there's only 1 true 901rom which is the eclipse 2.1rc and 3 other compatibles like the eclipse 2.0, liberty 2.0, and ics beta
My friends have the htc thunderbolt and they have many roms but only few is stable most are nightly builts and betas so you gotta stay updated and keep flashing
Coming from LG revolution which have very limited devs I learned as long as there's still support on the phone they can find ways to make the phone better and from what I know some of the devs there working on porting cm7/9 also
There will always have new phones that cause devs to jump ship but as long as the phone still have 1-10 devs remain they'll keep working on it
I think once ics comes out to bionic most dev will jump back in just like the lg revolution when gingerbread came out there's more activity there

For me, using stock is foreign. It just seems so un-android to me. But I've been rooting phones for 2 years now so rooting an android is second nature for me. Even if I'm not rommed up, I still need to root if only to get rid of bloatware. I support them putting bloatware on the phones, I just dont support them making it so you can't remove the bloatware without rooting. PCs have been putting bloat on for years but they let you remove it if you dont want it. I'm just wondering how many android users are stuck with let's golf on there phone just to never play it.

Example fail. Lets Golf is the only piece of bloat you can uninstall without root.

New droid owner

So I recently bought the og droid of ebay. I plan to use it as a tinker device and a possible media device. I was wondering what's the best kernel/rom for the droid.
So if you could respond with a smooth rom/kernel that would be great!
Thx
Also what is a safe overclock? 1.0 ghz?
I personally prefer the 2.3 cyanogenmod based roms for the OG; good amount of customization with a fairly smooth and stable feel. *
Lately though I've been testing out kfazz's 4.1 rom for the OG which is quite smooth for being on a single-core ~1GHz device.
In terms of overclocking, you can safely OC up to 1.2GHz (1.3 is obtainable but a lot of OG's become quite unstable at this speed, especially with the performance governor). Chevyno1 has couple nice kernels for the droid OG.*
Hope this helps and welcome to the OG family =) had mine since March 2010 and it's still kickin'.
*I apologize for the lack of urls, but I don't have perms to post outside links yet =(
-cyanogenmod for droid OG can be downloaded from their site
-chevyno1's list of OG kernels is on the AndroidForums (quick google search should pull that right up)
Thank you.
I tried chevyno1 kernel but in get a message that my nand needs to be off? Any idea?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Huh, I looked into it (guessing that you're referring to s-off) and it looks like it's a HTC phone specific thing. Couldn't find any documentation of this issue on the droid og (or milestone) and I've never run into this problem with my droid.
Sorry I couldn't help you with this one =(
Thanks for your help. I figured it out by formating my /system. Hehe probably should have done that before. Oh well.
Hi all. I just got Milestone real cheap from a friend. With 550MHz cpu and original rom it felt a bit sluggish. Also my friend said there's no way to change phone's language to Finnish since Motorola has provided only some languages.
Well I now have CyanogenMod 7.2.2 (Android 2.3.7), 1 GHz cpu, Finnish as the system language and also hw keyboard multipress for Finnish letters. This is great, even better than I expected! Thanks to all the developers.

Thinking of getting Atrix HD ... root, roms?

Hey guys,
It turns out my Atrix 4G is eligible for the Motorola trade up program and the Atrix HD is the only high end Motorola phone on AT&T. Is the phone rooted yet and are there any roms available? I did a search and there doesn't appear to be official Cyanogenmod, or any other roms for that matter. The main reason I would want to flash would be to get rid of motoblur ... if there are no custom roms is there at least a way to get rid of motoblur and return to android stock UI?
Its rooted and there will be official jb coming out soon! (beta already out)
Motoblur is only in traces, it got phased out.
I'm a flashaholic myself but I'm actually enjoying the Atrix HD just the way it is. Upgraded from the Atrix 4G as well and I'm definitely glad I did. The jellybean leak is very well put together and the 4.2 apps available for download definitely adds to the greatness that is the Atrix HD. The Razr MAXX battery mod increased the life of the phone big time.
Sent from my Jellybeaned Motorola Atrix HD MAXX
I've had my AHD for about a week now, and I'm usually a flashaholic, but honestly I don't see any obvious reasons to need to flash anything. I loathed Motoblur, and thankfully it's not here. I did root though, for obvious reasons. I can tell you that I am extremely picky about phones, and can name probably ten phones I've used this year, and this is my favorite.
Okay cool, thanks for the info guys! Looks like the Atrix HD will be my next phone!
You won't be disappointed!
Sent from my MB886 using xda premium
Yeah same here, I was a flashaholic as well, probably been through 6 or 7 phones this year already and once I got my hands on the Atrix HD, I am completely happy.
Agreed that the stock jellybean leak is very well done, feels like vanilla jb with a few nice tweaks. Of course once we have recovery working there will be ROMs and kernels hehe
Do keep in mind that your SD card can not be used to install any apps on to it nor can it be used to install a game and then the game installs any extra data.
A working recovery is almost here guys. Hashcode is working his azz off to finish it right now!

Exactly, I haven't had a single hiccup AT ALL with my AHD. I wanted to throw my S3 against the wall. This Motorola is just solid.

[Q] Should I buy this phone?

I'm in the market for a new device (my moto Bravo is reaching it's limits). I love motorola and the atrix hd seems right up my alley. I've been doing some research and the only thing that bothers me is the gripes about the battery life. Everything else about the phone is exactly what I want (minus the non-removable battery.) My question is:
Is the battery a big enough buzzkill to make this phone not worth the time? Thanks for your help! I <3 you skeevy!

Long time no see. How are things going over in BravoLand? I haven't been there in quite a while. From one Bravo user to another, you'll be damn happy with the Atrix HD upgrade.
Battery life can be bad, but it gets better with every kernel update our Dev Team does. There are some tweaks you can do like the performance tweak listed in AHD General (does wonders with the interactive governor settings), disabling 4g/LTE (required to see the signal strength on 4.2.2 roms).
All things considered, we'll probably be Official CM in the next month or so, rom development is really, really starting to pick up, we have multiple kernels to choose from, our Devs are awesome (imagine Quarx x 4 or 5, cause that's what we have here), and our Devs are in the process of making this one of the best Android Platforms around. The RQCOM Family might not be high spec like an S4, but it will be running (feeling ) as smooth/fast as one soon enough.
Get one and you'll be happy. Root & Unlock and you'll be very happy. Do the Maxx Mod, and you'll be very, very happy.

Just bought an atrix hd off ebay from a guy only 40 minutes away! He's already got it unlocked (not sure about root though) and got it for $25 under asking, plus a case. I love my bravo, I just want a little more punch. Looking forward to picking up some sweet action from you (among the others of course ). I plan on doing the Maxx Mod using some of the money I saved (2-day+ charge with all day interaction is too awesome to pass up.)
BravoLand is slow, not much happening other than Quarx pushing cm10.1 nightlies and occasionally people are on the forums, but I think everyone realizes the phone is 3 years old and it's reaching it's limits with the newer stuff. Not much work being done anymore I'm afraid.
I'm considering giving my bravo to my little sis since it still works great and the Otterbox case I have it housed in has protected it quite well. I'm looking forward to seeing y'all soon.

I'm considering giving my bravo to my little sis since it still works great and the Otterbox case I have it housed in has protected it quite well. I'm looking forward to seeing y'all soon.

Cool beans. If its unlocked, then a simple zip with the root binary and superuser app is all that's needed to root. Things here are done very differently than on the Bravo.
I've thought about looking into what Kayant has been up to with his Defy Roms and making some of them for the Bravo. I've seen that he's done most of the standard custom roms -- PAC, AOKP, Slim, maybe some others -- for the Defy so it shouldn't be much more than syncing his repos and modifying Quarx's Bravo CM10.1 repos as needed. I use my Defy and Bravo as backups, so I'd like to have the same rom running on all three if its possible.
From what I've read, Key Lime Pie should run just fine on the Bravo and Defy. Its supposed to run a lot better than ICS/JB on the 512mb ram devices. I'm hoping that KLP will breath new life in to the old phones.
Some days I'd rather have the Bravo over the Atrix HD cause the AHD is just big enough to give me thumb cramps with extended use, and I never had a single cramp with the Bravo or Defy.
