Hi guys. I'm a noob so I kinda need some help. My HTC One is the M7UL and its on S-ON. Its on an unofficial CM11 custom ROM. Could anyone please give me detailed instructions on how 2 go back to Sense 5.5 and how to remove the "Tampered" on the bootloader menu? Thx a mile

1- why not just flash a custom Sense ROM?
2- If you really need/want to go back to 100% stock (eg for warranty), you can check out my guide (in my signature), but you'll need go to S-Off first, and once you are, I recommend staying S-Off.
3- if you just want a quick and easy way just to get back a stock Sense ROM, you can also you a Guru Reset ROM, compatible with your firmware: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/

Thx a lot. But I believe that I can S-OFF only if I'm on stock HTC ROM. Or if im mistaken, could you please send me the link to S-OFF while I'm on the CM ROM itself.
Thx again

no version-main, again
you're on hboot 1.55, HTC__J15, PN0710, so you're firmware should be 3.62.401.1, you can try one of the following ROMs, to get S-Off using rumrunner: either ARHD 31.6 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023
or Guru Reset: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_3-62-401-1-zip/ (select ROOT, unselect "stock recovery")

No, because you need to downgrade to hboot 1.44 to run this ruu and this require s-off
If you don't want to go s-off, you can restore stock rom and recovery by flashing that rom:

Yes and Yes, you have to select "stock recovery" when installing the Guru Reset for OTAs to install properly.
BTW: there's nothing newer than 3.62 at the moment

1- unlock bootloader again
2- flash custom recovery again
3- install this rom using custom recovery: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_3-62-401-1-zip/
----> select WIPE, select "stock recovery", root and radio are up to you
you're all done, you will receive OTAs without any problems.
* You do not need to lock or relock bootloader, you can if you want but it's not necessary.
* if you choose root, then you may (or may not) loose it after OTAs, but it will not affect the OTA upgrade.
Hope that helps.

reflash the same rom, without selecting wipe (known as a "dirty flash").
there are no OTAs after 3.62 at the moment, and when they become available they'll work fine without messing with google services.

you should be a bit more specific (renovate and 2.7.0.3 could mean a lot of things
1- start by posting a "fastboot getvar all" (excluding IMEI, MEID, and s/n)
2- an actual link to the threads (and downloads) of the files (and versions) you mentioned... cause i don't see TWRP 2.7.0.3 in either the m7_u/ul or the m7_wls models
I'm assuming TWRP, but you know what they say about assumption...

i thought only GPE ROMs require S-Off... didnt see anything in the OP about having to be S-Off.
anyway, if you're trying to S-Off best use a ROM which is inline with your firmware (so check your fastboot getvar all), then find a ROM based on the same version (rooted with unsecured kernel) and use firewater to get s-off
at least we now know you're on Sprint... cause you've only linked Sprint stuff ... i'm assuming

Hi guys,
I'm in need of some help, my beloved HTC One has fallen victim to the dreaded Purple Camera issue and I need to send it back.
I'm on HBOOT 1.56 and I need to turn S-ON back on as my phone says that my phone is a "Test Device" in bold red writing if you reset the phone and under About>Help
I don't want any warranty issues with HTC as being in South Africa, support is very limited as it is and they will find any excuse not to try fix it.
If anyone can give out any tips or advice I'd be happy to donate even.
I've done lots of Googling and tried a couple things but it's all for older HBOOT's than mine.
Please and thanks guys. :good:

ok so you'll need to downgrade your phone first because turning back s-on on hboot 1.56 will trigger the tampered flag in the bootloader.
use the 1.28.401.7 ruu with the guru bootloader reset tool
refer to this guide and follow instructions carefully. Again, do not s-on on hboot 1.55 and above, only do it on 1.44 or 1.54.

DO NOT GO S-ON
first run the RUU.EXE or the flash the RUU.ZIP
then we can consider s-on, with S-On you cannot downgrade!!! and you'll be majorly stuck.
let me know when you've done the ruu
PS: please follow the guide
1- remove tampered set locked
2- run / flash ruu 1.28.401.7
3- boot up once to make sure everything is OK, do NOT take OTA
4- go S-ON if you really need to

As mentioned:
1- remove tampered set locked
2- run / flash ruu 1.28.401.7
3- boot up once to make sure everything is OK, do NOT take OTA
4- go S-ON if you really need to
so if your bootloader is now:
* untampered,
* LOCKED,
* and the ruu has been successfully installed.
you can go ahead and S-On your device.

Why do you need to go back to stock? Warranty/selling?
because with S-On you can only get your bootloader to say RELOCKED, it will never say LOCKED unless you S-Off.

Dear Xda team,
I recently unlocked my phone via HTC dev site and I also made a backup of stock and I decided to upgrade to Custom Rom Android revolution 81..0 and since then I have had issues, I wiped all datas and now I am left with NO OS. I also tried Android revolution google play edition, it successfully installed but unforuntately boot loops because of S-ON and I dont know TWRP compatibility issues. I am confused.
Ideally, I want to get back my STOCK make an adb back up of stock, Make it S-OFF and then try all custom ROMS. I need all possible help. I am also posting other device info.

Returning back to stock will probably require s-off first so you can flash a RUU with a lower version. Better to post a complete "fastboot getvar all" (remove emei and sn) so we can determine what is the best solution for you.

I'm 100% sure that TWRP 2.6.3.0 was the cause of your trouble when flashing ARHD. Flashing twrp 2.6.3.3 should resolve that issue
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Your stock version is the pretty standard WWE version X.XX.401.X so it should not be difficult to find a nandroid backup of this version over here.
You can also just update the recovery to 2.6.3.3, flash arhd, s-off the phone. With s-off you'll be able to flash every rom you want including GPE and you'll also have the ability to use a RUU like 4.19.401.9 or 1.28.401.7 to restore your phone back to stock so your adb backup will not be required.

flash arhd Sense version,
then s-off, (try firewater first, if you get the "whelp" message ---> Sunshine s-off.
then you are free to do whatever you want cause you have s-off.
