Hello, I would like to know if the rooting method of the One 802w is working with the 8060 version.
The device is the chinese version and it was shipped without any google goodies. I could manage to get google services with the tutorial described HERE, but I would like root privileges and maybe s-off if possible, to change the device into europian variant, and remove those chinese things.
Thanks in advance
Hello. , good to see some one else is looking for htc 8060 rooting. In fact there was no thread about that in XDA,
Did you unlocked your boot loader ? As I read that this will disable fingerprint sensor.?
Can you explain more how did you install google play ?

Please see the second and third links in this search, in third link it says it roots like htc one dual sim but uses htcdev for unlocking boot loader so I am not sure if this will disable fingerprint or no?

Hello, to install Google services was quite easy, I just followed THIS method.
It doesn't need unlocked bootloader and root privileges.
I haven' unlocked yet, because I'm looking for the right custom recovery.img and rooting tools zip. I also heard about the fingerprint-issue followed by the unlock, but this is not the main reason which is why I keep waiting...
If I know well, this device will be available in the UK soon, so maybe europian rom-version(s) will come up, too. That's what I 'm looking for, to remove those strange chinese apps...
Thank you for your reply. For removing chinese apps you can use titanium backup and freeze those bloatwares.

OK, I've unlocked the bootloader and it seems it didn't touch the ability of setting the fingerprint sensor.
All I need now is a working recovery.img for the HTC One Max dual SIM (8060).
Anybody?

You can find a working cwm recovery.img and the stock recovery.img for the HTC 8060 HERE-thanks to Flyhalf. The linked SuperSU.zip also works fine, now I'm already rooted.
I'll try to ask beaups to make his s-off method available for our device, and then we can easily lock and unlock the bootloader without erasing the data partition-the fingerprint sensor will work with locked.
TBH I just started the fingerprint sensor, it looked work well, but I didn't go through the whole process... I would never use that feature.
Thank you very much for information,
It seems only a few guys are looking for htc 8060 root. So you started the first thread in XDA about this device...
It is somewhat weired because I also have galaxy note 3 dual sim n9002 from china mobile but many people was discussing about that making custom roms..
I hope your follow up leads to release a s-off for our device so fingerprint be ok again.

Unfortunately guys the fingerprint sensor still doesn't work after relocking the bootloader. If you go through the whole process, you get a Giant Red X says fingerprint not recorded.
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?? or can I grab the original stock Rom from Someone in order to reflash?
Much appreciated guys :good:

Gottcha. Is there a way to fully lock the the loader for this phone again? or a patch to get the figerprint sensor up and running?
If not I might just have to send the device to HTC for a reload. Main reason I unlocked it was that it would not load the most recent OTA with the stock recovery. Kept getting the red traingle of death, so i downloaded clockwork recovery for installation instead. Now fingerprint sensor doesnt work

Yes!! But you've got to be s-off and rooted.
HOW-TO Re-enable your fingerprint scanner!
You have to relock (after SOFFing it) the bootloader.

If you want your phone to be rooted, you're gonna have to deal with the sign. If you re lock the bootloader, it will go back to being as it came out of the box (stock). Then you can not use root

The software update didn't fix anything, as reported by many users on xda.. It is a hardware fault, and you need to get your phone/camera replaced. Are you familiar with s-off? If yes then go s-off and
1. Flash a stock nandroid backup
2. Flash a stock recovery
3. Remove the tampered tag
4. Lock bootloader
You can also use htc1guru's guru reset packages

I know that xda is the best place to go for info But I'd rather send him to a single site with a complete guide rather than sending him all over the place for a small guide to each and every step of the process. And the website is the only one with the biggest collection of One RUUs and OTAs and a new method to get back to stock on s-on phones. And it's guide is pretty good. And it is maintained by an XDA member
http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4139782
So I guess that's justification enough?

Well, it is at least odd as the site you are referring to has no support by other members so it is only for those familiar with the material! Hence the OP came straight back to ask!
BTW, on the first and second page of the HTC One Development Section I was able to find every aspect regarding unlocking, rooting, flashing ROMs, and going back to stock. It took like 60 seconds!
The site might be nice but lacks the traffic you find here...

Please use the search guys, this has been discussed in many threads all over here and the general section ever since 4.3 was released.
Currently, the only way to root after you have already flashed 4.3 is to unlock your bootloader and flash DooMLoRD's advanced stock kernel.
That's it, until somebody finds a way to root with a locked bootloader and that doesn't mean you have to post asking for it. Once someone has a breakthrough, they will publish their work here for certain.

So, basically exactly what I already said. Flash DooMLoRD's advanced stock kernel and flash a superuser zip.
No need to give page views to yet another website that just reproduces guides/work of XDA members.

I'm not sure why you revived this thread that is several months old to post that.
Firstly, it's just a reproduction of information from a couple of DooMLoRD's threads from here and here on XDA.
Secondly, it directly links to his files, which is a no no.
Thirdly, there are also direct links in that article to unofficially hosted versions of Androxyde's Flashtool, which is also not polite.
Please don't push page views to places that do things like that. Thanks.

I don't think so. There's not been an OTA for that. That would be the only way, to sideload an OTA that was specifically meant for that build combination. Your bootloader would need to be unlocked to flash the factory image.

Well, you can install some themed apks from Team BlackOut, @cerj, @Archangel, and a few other themers, but there is little else on these forums to which you can avail without taking that first step.
I don't question your decision, as that is rightly yours or your employer's, yet one cannot change the reality of things...this entire process begins with unlocking the bootloader.
There are bounty threads in the Samsung forums for AT&T, Verizon, and other networks, all to attain that first step. You have a device wherein the ability to unlock is painless, and to attain your objective, it's a must.
Either unlock and flash the build you want, or keep it locked and do not get the build, there it no middle ground.

If you unlocked to upgrade 5.1, you can always re-lock the bootloader once done.
In fact, that's exactly what I did after unlocking and using fastboot to upgrade from 5.1 "D" to "E" - partly to test out the steps and also to get more familiar with the phone, commands, etc., the other aspect being some added security.
This is the process I followed (from info in the Beginner's and OTA threads), which also includes a link to Evolution_Freak's re-locking topic.
I'd recommend reading up on these things for the Nexus 6 - there's good info in these forums and it might expand your view of what is best for you to try.
(I am admittedly thinking of going unlocked, because OTAs are turning out to be carrier-controlled for this phone and unlocking/re-locking seems fraught with human error on my part)

The only way to change ROM without an official OTA is to unlock the boot loader. There is no official ota.
