[q] htc one rom for battery - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guiys
I am currently trying different ROMS, and the battery drain on my HTC one is nowhere near what I want.
So i want to know what the best ROM for battery life is, and if you guys could also give me some advice on how to save battery i would be extremely grateful.
Thanks
Dan

There are many good roms out there. Personally using sinless. battery life very good.

Some steps taken by me.
1. If you restore apps from titanium, try avoid it. reinstall apps from Google play and use titanium to restore DATA only. I'm not sure if this actually works, but since I started doing this, I rarely have battery drains.
2. I set Wi-Fi to turn off when not using it (screen off) however, not recommended if you have very limited data quota on your subscription.
3 I leave auto sync off for most apps. Leaving weather only to auto sync every 6 hours or so.
4 I dump most Google and HTC related apps using titanium.
Last tips:
I still haven't found any GPE Roms to beat Sense roms in battery life. Stick to sense. But each phone is different
Try custom kernels. Maximus 4.3 with ElementalX has been my best combo on One.
When you found a good setup. Nandroid and keep it safe.

i got the best usage out of my phone using sense roms as well.
currently i am running viperone but ive been between gpe and bonestock and bonestock and viperone both get very good battery life.
the best combo ive run so far has been the viperone with the lunar kernels. run with row and smartmax on . also using tasker profiles to manage my data and wifi conections. right now i am at 15 hours with 56% battery. ill post screenshots tomorrow of full days use .

Oh come on now, everyone silently waits for someone to start a thread like this and then silently watches from the back
I wanna see that screenshot, I get very poor battery life with ViperOne 4.2 and ElementalX

Also, when you switched ROMs you need to give it a few days to settle. Battery life will get better.

[Q] What Galaxy S i9000 Rom has the best battery life?

Hey guys, I have been out of the Rom scene for a few months, in May I was using MIUI which was terrible, after that back to Insanity CM and now I am using the Surface Rom, which I got in like July. Therefore I am not up to date anymore; I really need a good Rom with some awesome battery life. Which would suit me the best?
And I am also using Google Authenticator, when I wipe install a new ROM will I lose all the data of Google authenticator, like with every other app? So I would have to use mybackup pro for example?
Miui battery life is terrible indeed.
I use Simplicity 1.1.1 for the moment and I am more then pleased with the battery life.
I've used a lot of different roms and this one is the best for me.
It's a very slim rom and you can add other stuff with the add-on feature.
I would say: Check it out
http://www.google.be/url?sa=t&sourc...uDgNUB&usg=AFQjCNF4F4UsgTpbVCCTrgR883FwN0bM9Q
Okay thanks for the reply How many hours can you go with it, w/o using wifi and all that other stuff.
With quite heavy use and wifi on all day: like 2 days.
That's tested with the 1.1 version, because the 1.1.1 is out since this noon
OH wow that sounds awesome. Thanks, I will check it out
I have to add that I always use Autorun Manager to avoid apps to start out of their own. And that's a real life saver for me.
App killers keep on killing the same apps that start over and over again. But this app won't let it start up in the first place.
Unless you open the app manually off course
So measuring better life can be a very personal issue.
Depending on the use of your phone and what kind of apps and sync processes are running.
I, for example don't sync Facebook nor twitter, only Gmail.
But try that rom out and see for yourself. If you're not pleased ... there are a lot of roms out there
Okay thanks for letting me know, yeah Simplicty looks cool. I will check that out
the main is a kernel. one of the best are speedmod and talon and galaxian
Well their is no way anyone can oppose me on this. DARKY ROM has the best battery life for sure no 2 nd thoughts in this. Darkyrom.com is the way to go for you. Well for stats I tried v10.2.2 and it literally drained 1% in 11 hours on standby and no wifi on. And 2% with wifi on in 8 hours.
hit thankxx if i helped. sent from my mind through telepathy (ya its possible)!
Tight dude. I am getting this **** now. haha. This sounds godly
My previous rom was Darky 10.2.2 extreme edition and the battery drained on me.
That's why i went to simplicity...
But this can become an endless discussion and I'm not waiting for that
Just try out some roms and decide for yourself
Have fun

Wow that sounds really good..
How is the performance with this rom??
Does battery life comes at the cost of performance..
Btw I m new on galaxy s forum(Before on Optimus one) ..Vl be getting my galaxy s 2mrw.
I would answer you, but I don't know the answer, sorry
But people here seems to be a little bit too lazy to answer... I've noticed that, too
Several my questions just... lost in space :-D
As to the ROM. I've been using HoneyCore 2.0, it's based on Semaphore kernel, ROM is based on JVS 2.3.5. Unfortunately, for some reason its creator, CoreMaster, just stopped supporting it. What happened - have no idea. But battery life is nice. I don't know how it is in comparison with Darky. For instance, watching dvdrip takes about 15% of battery - i don't think it's much. Reading is about 4% per 20-30mins.
p.s. It would be nice if you made some measurement on the ROM you have chosen and publish here the numbers to compare
I have the best battery life till now on F1 innovation HD v7.0
I had my best battery life with stock 2.3.4 + Go Launcher Ex. Also, no auto sync, no location access, dark (leather - almost black) wallpaper. It lasted an average of two days, with the highest score being...wait for it.... 4 days!!! I attached a photo!
Cheers!

HTC One with Sense or stock Android?

I'm looking for a phone to upgrade from my current HTC Desire HD. I started a couple of years ago with Sense, then reluctantly went to stock Android. Now I can't go back to Sense and a big reason is battery life. These smart phones after a year, it's all about reducing lag and increasing battery time.
So now I'm on an unofficial CM10.
Well if I get an HTC One, will I just install CM again? Is that what people do, or do you make use of HTC's software? I know how it's a personal preference, but I'm wondering if the latest Sense is so good people are sticking with it. Reviews say it's less bloat.
And if people are just going to a stock Android Rom, is it better to get this phone or the GS4 to load a stock Rom?

I rather like Sense 5. I came from CM10 on Sensation too and I'm happily living with Sense 5. It's simple and fast - virtually lag free. I've had crappy experiences like many of you with Sense 3.5 to 4.5, so this is a pleasant surprise. I even use blinkfeed rather often now. I plan to stay with Sense 5 custom roms for my One. Just try it, I don't think you'll miss AOSP/CM10 unless you're one of those religious types.

100% agreed. I came from AOKP on my S3 (I can't stand touchwiz). I purchased the One and absolutely love sense 5. I don't believe I'll switch back. Especially since some features won't work like the beats driver and I've also heard some flaws with the camera on AOSP ROMs.
If you are worried about battery, quite frankly you shouldn't be purchasing a mini computer. Battery life is great on this phone for how powerful it is. While at work I turn on Power Saver mode and have my data connections turned off on sleep mode. When I'm off 9 hours later I'm still at 70%. If I keep everything running I'm at about 20% by the end of the night when I plug it in.

Thanks for the advice guys. I wonder if the HTC power saver is like Greenify, which I use now.

Hmm.. not sure what greenify is, but I can tell you what Power Saver is. When turned on it conserves power by limiting the speed of the cpu, turns down screen brightness, disables haptic feedback, and disables data while on sleep mode. Pretty handy in my opinion. =)

I came from the N4 running CM 10.1 and I find too sense 5 a big surprise. It's running very smooth and battery life is quite the same with my N4. I plan on staying on stock and unrooted for a while.
Power saver is not like greenify, it reduces CPU speed and even brightness if the battery level is low.

from what i can tell,
greenify basically ensures that apps are fully unloaded when you lock your phone... keeps the naughty apps in line.
the htc power save option basically does the usual limit screen brightness as well as cpu, turn off haptic feedback and disables data during sleep mode.
the disabling of data is a little bit of an issue for me, since i use cerberusapp and it won't let me connect (obviously)
things still sync however no longer in real time (i think it enables data on a pre-defined interval to update sync).
the good news is that you can disable these options individually so yeah i have all the power save options enabled apart from data.
i too went from a cm10 device to sense 5. i'm loving the new fresh feel, however I'm missing the notification toggles badly.
Before the HTC One, I've never owned a HTC device before and therefore never used Sense before.
Before I got this phone, I checked out some of the reviews and even done research on previous HTC models just to learn a little bit more about HTC in general.
I'd honestly read a lot of bad reviews regarding previous iterations of Sense, with the main complaints being against Sense 4.
As I'm not the kind of guy who bases my decisions on reviews they didn't stop me wanting to get the One. Afterall, even if I didn't like Sense 5 I could always flash an AOSP ROM or use a custom launcher anyway. I will admit, however, that I've got no complaints whatsoever regarding Sense 5 as it is great.
Having said that, I am currently using Apex launcher but that's just so that I can customize my homescreen more so than I can with the stock UI.
Some great replies guys, thanks. With my Desire HD, I used the ARHD rom for a while, so I stuck with the stock Sense experience, but I was rooted. I tried many times to go to CM, etc, but I always came back to Sense. I loved the Sense apps, email, etc. But eventually I had to switch because of lag. And then months later when I tried to go back to Sense, I couldn't..too slow.
So it sounds promising to me that I can basically get the HTC One, and go with the stock (but rooted of course) experience for a while. And with the specs of this phone, I'll be able to move on to the latest and great (Key Lime Pie) when it comes out.

Renovate sleeps at a little less than 1% per hour, and is hands down the best sprint rom out there.

I have tried most, but Rennovate has the best battery life thus far. May try Revolution this weekend.
Ive been on elegancia for a while and the battery will definitely get me through a day as well as insert coin. I might look into renovate since these comments all seem to be in favor.
I've tried nearly all the ROMs in the first few pages and have found the d3rp ones to have the best battery life for me. I really like the features of InsertCoin, but it drained my battery pretty quickly.

How is the battery life on the custom roms

Hey everyone, I know "best rom" threads aren't allowed but that isn't what I'm trying to ask. I don't care which is better overall. I just want to know how their battery life stacks up (not against each other but how they are in general). I am currently running CM11 and I really miss Sense for some reason. So I am thinking of switching back but I want to make sure my battery life doesn't suffer because of it. So are the Sense custom roms for the HTC One (m7 GSM) good with battery life? I tried ViperOne once and it barely lasted 12 hours. Thanks in advance.

I dont want ro ever say one rom ia better than another. As a programmer I have a great reapect for the people and teams that put these out.
Thus said; in my last 5 or so years of owning one android device or another I've always found better resposiveness and battery life using a custom rom over the stock softwares.

[Q] Restoring performance of m7

Hi there. I have been using my m7 for nearly 2 years now and was going to upgrade to m9 this year. Since m9 dissapointed me really and I have never been a fan of Galaxy series I may stay with my beloved m7 for a bit longer. It is really great phone unfortunately it became laggy and unresponsive some time ago. Not mentioning poor (!!!) battery life... As I was going to upgrade it never actually bothered me enough to think about fixing this. Since now. If I am going to spend at least few more months with this device I would like it to perform as it did before, or close to it.
Updated to Lollipop recently but I cant blame lollipop as performance was bad long ago before update, phone never been rooted, 100% stock, all unwanted apps uninstalled/disabled, only essential apps being used, always Auto sync off for everything, localizations off, I dont use fb, twitter etc only viber sits in the background and Google Now launcher as I got bored with BlinkFeed.
Moving to qeustions... Is this normal for m7 to loose on performance after 2 years usage? Maybe it is just normal for all smartphones after some time and this is just me expecting too much from my "old" ONE? Are there any ways to improve the way my phone works, can involve rooting if necessary so I will finally learn how to do it What are your suggestions friends?
I believe there is many like me and hope this thread will help others as well.
Thanks in advance
