Please, help me get S-Off - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there.
Do not know where to post this but I try here.
I have tried now for days to get S-off on my HTC One and it is impossible.
The reason is I want to run GE by kitkat 4.4.
I have Android Revolution 40.3 Sense 5.5
hboot 1:44
European version of the HTC One
T.W.R.P 2.6.3.3
Revone: Gives me Error 1 or that it was successful but nothing happens.
*
Moonshine: Halts after I got into the bootloader, the running fastboot but when it goes into adb hangs up and I have to hold the power button + vol down under bright light for it to reboot.
Rumrunner: Gives me the error: phone is not rooted and running nor an insecure kernel.
I have tried with 3 different windows computers (Win 7 and Win 8), a mac computer and ubuntu but still manages not.
You, I ask you to help me because I am completely out of ideas.
Thanks in advance!

did you tried revone on older rom like on a 4.2 or 4.1.2 rom?

No, its funny it seems like i can't downgrade, i get an error in twrp. Can be the rom, i will download a new 4.2 rom and try again.
Update: Ok so i just downloaded ROM]07/08-RomAur GE Xperia i1 JB4.2 v2.2 [ X-Reality-Xloud ] and when flashing the phone says installing 0% for over five minutes now and nothing happens.
I have a backup on my stockroom, what would happend if i go back to that one? Do i lose my root ? Do i need it or can i try revone from there ?
#SOLVED
Ok, so i solved when i went back to stockrom and tried revone again. So now my phone shows s-off!
Thx for the help

[Q] Getting boot loops no matter what rom

Hey guys,
I have the latest twrp sprint build installed on my Sprint HTC One (m7wls). It seems that no matter what rom I install, after sliding up the lock and unlocking the screen, I get a white HTC splash screen. The phone then proceeds to boot loop. I can access my recovery perfectly fine. This has happened with Android revolution, viper rom, nocturnal google edition, beanstalk 4.4 ge. etc. If it's a GE rom, then the phone will go maybe 1 or 2 steps into set up and then boot loop. If it's a sense rom, I get the same result for each one: i swipe up to unlock, get a white splash screen, and bootloop. I've tried wiping every cache, reflashing several times, and sideloading. I'm really lost guys, I don't know why my phone hates me. Any ideas on what's wrong?
Thanks

Sounds like you installed the GSM version of ViperOne or ARHD(meaning not the version that still has Sprint support).
You will need to RUU to fix it

Dang alright thanks, I'm downloading the RUU executable now. So all I do is relock the bootloader, and then run the RUU in fastboot? I hope this works, I need a working phone.

Yup re-lock and run from fastboot
I'm getting an error when trying to run the RUU. It's saying it can't connect to the device. Attached is a picture of the message. Any insights anybody?

I've tried another usb port, no dice. I tried the "fastboot devices" command line under both ports, and the device shows up so idk why the RUU utility won't work. I may try manually flashing the firmware via fastboot command.
*edit* I managed to manually flash the firmware package via fastboot, but the phone refuses to boot into even stock android. It's going straight to hboot each time, where it say i has os- 3.05. What's going on? I already relocked.
**edit 2** I've managed to RUU! Now time to reflash recovery and try another rom. Any recommendations?

[Q] Restore Stock ROM

Hey guys,
Noob here. I installed the Cyanogenmod yesterday on my HTC One using the Mac Installer. Everything went smoothly, but didn't like it, prefered the stock Sense 5.5 feel.
So I started going back to Sense 5.5.
But I'm stuck.
Here's what I have:
TAMPERED
RELOCKED
S-ON
HBOOT-1.55
OS-3.62.401.1
But thing is, I have no idea if I successfully flashed the ROM or not nor the recovery.img. When I enter bootload and select Recovery the HTC shuts down, so I guess it isn't fully installed.
Moreover, when I try to flash the recovery.img I get a Terminal error saying it cannot open 'recovery.img'.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry for my noobness.
Fastboot getvar all output? Remove Imei/sn

Small update,
Managed to install Clockworkmod, but when i tried to flash the stock rom using fastboot (adb doesn't work, device not shown even though all drivers are installed) i got an error.
Gonna try to flash Android Revolution HD to see if it works, will report back.
So, flashed clockworkmod.
I dont care if I cant get my HTC One to stock, just want it to work.
Wanted to flash Android Revolution 4.3 to my phone, but adb doesnt want to work.
Windows says that the HTC Driver is up to date, version 2.0.7.23.
Rebooted Windows 8 but adb is still not working.
Any help would be greatful,
Thanks.

[Q] Help with Softbricked One.

Hey everyone. I've had a look on the forums but can't seem to find information relevant to my situation, so I'm hoping you'll all be able to help.
A few years ago I rooted my HTC Sensation (Xe) (and have since moved on to Sony's, non rooted) and have a friends HTC One that she was given.
When she was given the phone, it had Cm10 (possibly 11) and was not locked to her network. No problem, i thought. I'll just stick a new Sense Rom on it and that'll be fine (as i used to do with my XE).
I did that, went through the trusty Aroma installer where it warned me that Doing so may lose root, but i still proceeded .
Since installing that , the phone now just bootloops, there seems to be no recovery on there to boot from. I've tried dicking about with the ADB settings and Fastboot but can't get the phone to connect to my computer.
I think that once I've got recovery on there i should be able to change the CID and then put an unlocked, stock Rom on there.
If anyone can help, that would be amazing. Sorry if i missed this information posted elsewhere!

Try this to get out of the bootloop. "To perform a hard reset, hold down the power button for 10 seconds - in the process you'll see the softkeys start blinking, then it should reset. As soon as it starts to reset, release power, and hold down the volume-down button - hold it until hboot pops up (white screen, colored text)." Once in the bootloader screen, you should be able to hook up to your computer using the fastboot commands in a command window.
Thanks for replying, unfortunately I can't seem to get the phone and my windows 8 computer to talk.

well if your phone hboot is 1.44 you will not be able to connect it using win 8, you'll need either win 7 or linux.
can you post a screenshot of your bootloader screen
also what rom and version # have you flashed and what recovery and version are you using?

Can't upload a screenshot as I'm too new, but the hboot is 1.54 0000
CID 11111111

Open DSP -v26. 120. 274. 0202

Is there anything amiss about my Hboot number?

I've tried that, in all honesty it didn't occur to me that Win 8 (8.1) wouldn't work. It didn't work. My Sony Vaio Pro 13 doesn't have a lot of AMD in it (i dont think) and i couldn't get it to work. I'm pretty close to just going "ahhh F-it" and putting Ubuntu on here to try that.
Thanks for your help so far guys.

Btw you can use linux (ubuntu) without installing it (with a live cd). use ubuntu 12.04 32 bit.
The phone did have Clockwork Mod Touch on it and i tried installing KitKat (Android 4.4.2 + HTC Sense 6.0) - Android Revolution 71.1
I love that Linux doesn't need fully installing to run.
So, i have Linux available. I need to use adb and fastboot to put the recovery software back on there(is that correct?), as since i got it all it's been saying (since installing Android Revolution) is 'Entering Recovery' where it flashes with the little clockwork mod icon for half a second and then resets.

flash arhd using TWRP 2.6.3.3 not clockworkmod recovery
flash twrp recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then in twrp menu select ''install'' and chose your rom.zip (arhd)
if the rom was deleted from /sdcard use adb push
i.e:
Code:
adb push name_of_rom.zip /sdcard/

Cannot change CID back from SuperCid

Hi all, I have a tricky problem, I converted my M7 to GPE following this thread "[RUU] Google Edition Conversion. 5.0.1 RUU Zip pre-rooted/non-rooted + firmware ". All went fine but in the end the GPE lacks some stuff that I really like on Stock. Long story short I wanted to go back to stock, so I followed the part in the thread refffering to GPE => Stock
Prerequsites:
S-off
1.44 HBoot
RUU for your device (I used )
Ok I thought reversing since I had S-off would be a simple affair and maybe I took a misstep along the way but I got it done.
Here's what worked FOR ME.
1) set CID to superCID
2) install the 1.44 Hboot in RUU mode (thanks SneakyGhost) http://d-h.st/qfc
3) install the RUU for your phone/carrier

I just forgot before the last fastboot reboot to change the CID from 11111111 to my cid.
I flashed the 7.19.401.2-FULL_STOCK_WIPE.zip using 1.44 Hboot. Now it is stuck at the HTC logo afterwards and keeps rebooting, and ends up in stock recovery the phone with the red triangle and exclamation sign.
I did a factory reset from fastboot and now i get the phone with the red triangle. which means it is in the stock recovery but something is wrong. I can manage it to put it in fastboot, but that is all.
Windows each time I connect the phone is no longer recognizing the device so adb fails (I assume because it is the wrong CID). It just says waiting for device and nothing happens further.
How do I change the CID if I cannot connect the device? Tricky ... I tried several adb drivers (I use win 8.1) like "minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.2_setup" and "Universal_Naked_Driver_0.72" . The best I got is a driver installed and showing in device manager but with message " device cannot start. (Code 10)".
Any help is really appreciated.
Best regards

If you have flashed hboot 1.44 to your device then you'll need to get your hands on a windows 7 PC, ubuntu or Mac. Hboot 1.44 won't work with win8. Once done post the output of "fastboot getvar all"

It will not work in a vm config but will work fine in live mode (you can use Ubuntu without installing it via a live usb or live cd option)
Cool man, this one worked, I managed to change the CID back to the original. I have flashed then, the recovery to twrp and installed the following Guru Reset file "Guru_Reset_M7_3.62.401.1.zip". Is a bit old but nothing that OTA will not solve. Thanks again! It's updating already!

S-OFF for Desire 500?

Is there a way of getting S-OFF for this device? I am having major problems without it...
Okay, so I'll start at the beginning. Once upon a time (two days ago), I bought a Desire 500 from ebay that was stuck at the bootloader screen. It arrived today and I have unlocked the bootloader with HTCDEV, but I cannot flash recovery with fastboot. It seems to accept the flash on my computer, but when I try to enter recovery the phone just hangs. I have tried to flash the zip with fastboot, but the error message:
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
keeps coming up. AFAIK this is because I don't have S-OFF, but I should still be able to flash recovery.
Can anyone help?
EDIT - OK, so rumrunner can S-OFF it, but you have to have a ROM installed to use it...
I don't understand....
I literally don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've even found the ROM with the correct CID and tried to flash it through fastboot and RUU mode but it's not working.
Somebody help please... I have tried searching for the answer...
EDIT - I have flashed the correct CWM for my hboot and it has hung on:
Entering Recovery...
with the white HTC screen. It has been like this for ten minutes...
rumrunner didn't s-off my dual desire500.
it's fully rooted
has cwm on it
has not busybox n i wanted to s-off my phone in order to push busybox in it.
any idea?
Dead phone
First of all in order to install the original firmware (so called stock rom) your device needs to be in locked status. Other than that :
I also wanted to s-off my phone which is also stuck both on HTC screen and when trying to enter the recovery. Many articles and threads are saying you need to enable usb debugging in phone options but if you are phone can not load the android os and the corrresponding menu, applying this setting it is not possible. Therefore you can consider your phone is nothing but a flashlight at the moment.
Regarding my searchs our phone's emmc is corrupt or needs to be reprogrammed or something like it. It is not possible to load the official firmware using RUU files or any other custom ROMs.
