I took my first xperia z out on a 2 year plan about 6 months ago that i rooted straight up and added a sound mod to, I didnt have one problem with the phone, i loved it! until i got some critical error saying process system is not responding a few weeks ago and a bootloop that was undoable.
So i sent the phone off for repair and they said it was dead and gave me a new one, i decided to keep this one stock just incase the root messed it up, after a week the new phone died again, it would freeze after say 1.3 minutes after boot and really struggle to actually boot up at all sometimes, so i have now sent this off again.
Im now waiting on my 3rd xperia z to come through and have been told if this one breaks then i can have a different phone! :good:
Im just wondering are sony devices just awful? the xperia z is the first i have owned and i am not impressed at all, or is there some sort of software bug in the latest update?
Im just wondering if anyone else has had this much trouble or do i just have bad luck? :silly:

maybe you had pitch. it sounds weird but it can be
I think a friend changed his phone(not xperia) also 3 times and it wasn't every time his fault ^^
But I don't have one problem. All works perfect, it's very smooth. Only battery time is a bit bad. But that isn't a big problem for me.

I have never experienced the automatically shut-off/restart (not on stock, not on custom rom).
And when on custom ROM, I'm allways running OC 1400-1500MHz without any problem.
The battery-life is comparable with my last smartphone HTC Legend, It always makes it through the day.
After reading dozens of threads and reviews about all the trouble with LG Optimus 2X, it makes me think that I've got a blessed phone
Who else got a blessed Optimus? I can't be the only one right?
mine is blessed to, never had a problem
i think mine is blessed too

Cool, you bought it in Christiania right? The phone..
I bought mine this month, did you buy it recently?
Maybe LG fixed this with new batch of phones..
hehe yes i bought a weed phone in where
no i bought mine the same day it come on the market.
maybe i was blessed to get one without problems
I bought this phone from the first batch which came to Denmark, and this device had problems with stability, freezing and reboots. I've just got a replacement unit and this has already shutdown and rebooted in the 2 days I've had it
I bought mine from first batch that came to Netherlands, luckily it's blessed
Same. Aside from the screen bleeding on top I have no lock ups or reboot. Which is why I didn't return it back. I would replace the screen if I have to bit not return the phone lol

got mine when it was released in germany, after 2 or 3 weeks the reboots and freezes began to start, after testing cm7 i reflashed stock and since then i got a blessed one
I got mine over a month ago and have noticed restart twice, when I was leaving the country and switching to another SIM. After startíng the phone with new SIM card after few minutes restart, and since then everything fine. No BSOD, no screen leak.
I consider mine O2x blessed as well
So maybe it's about the sim? I have a blessed one too. Bought in the Philippibes, June 11, 2011.

I was lucky enough to obtain a blessed O2x as well. It runs like a dream - blazing fast while repping MCR FR17 without a single reboot! *knock on wood*
I really think that EVERYONE who have the freeze/restart problem should have a full refund or a replacement unit that WORKS. No matter how many times you have to change it. It's LG's fault this problem occurs. LG should take back all the faulty devices and fix them so this beast-of-a-phone won't have such a bad reputation.
Sincerely, Hopefully Soon To Be Optimus 2X Owner
Only have this phone for about 10 plus days. No BSOD yet, and hoping it will stay that way.
Blessed optimus here
All on stock, bought in germany about 2 weeks ago
Cool, seems like about half of us is "blessed" after all..
Optimus2X really is an awesome phone, and like others said it should not have this reputation of bad quallity...
LG really should fix this once and for all so that everybody can enjoy the power of the device without anooyance!

Well I would agree with that but I am a "hopefully, soon to be EX Optimus 2x owner"
Piece of **** this is.
i'm not the blessed one, can't get 1,5ghz...
Mine (have it for 2 Months) is not that blessed but working quite well on stock updated.
It restarted 3/4 times over the 2 months that's acceptable and is a bit slow on certain operations (furious on internet surfing ). It's quite not significant compared to software stability I met with previous Android phone from competitors !
This one can scan and load to the library a load of music files without any pb...the scan of media is quite efficient for example.
Cheers

Open back cover, and press the OFF button for 10 seconds. You will feel 3 vibrations. Then try restarting.
Or try and flash FTF using flash tool again. Xperia phones are quite difficult to brick.
Actually, I don't know what the problem was but, I connected it to my computer abd after some time, the phone came back to life on its own.... Thanks by the way.!

Hey, Thanks for all the help people!
I saw on an Italian forum (androidworld.it) a thread really fun and special.
practically everyone was telling a story divertende spent with a few friends.
this is an example: long ago a friend of mine bought a galaxy ace, did nothing but talk about how it was "powerful" and fast. Once I asked him why he had not bought a galaxy if he said "That ca * ata? do not even have the processor!" a few months after they stole him and took a replacement for galaxy w. One day he told me he did not like, which was slow etc.etc. then, seeing my old modded Vodafone Smart, asked me how I did and so I talked to him a little bit of root, overclock, and more. Two days later comes back with 'I'm w galaxy where he had installed go launcher and a theme to nokia, the beautiful thing is that then I said, "I have labored hours to change the operating system, I put one of my old nokia. While doing transfer system I almost risked twice to break it ... "At that moment I did not know whether to laugh in his face or jump out the nearest window.
Another time a friend of mine came up to me all happy and told me "I bought the smartphone, the new advertising there." However I wanted to spare me tell you that there is no difference between a smartphone and a lg tribe
Oh, and in any case I think the best average users are over 45 and parents (trollface96);

Ahahahah epic
today i had a stupid moment of myself. i received a HTC M8x(asian variant) to root it for a friend. I did everything and proceeded to flash a custom kernel. when it finished the screen went black. holding power button did nothing and connecting to charger didnt budge it. for 30mins i was panicking and trying to revive it. so i tried turning it on after 30mins so i pressed the power button to see id it does anything.... and it turned on and it was still in recovery. the lock feature from TWRP made a fool of me, thinking that i bricked it lol.

A couple weeks ago I was fixing a cracked screen on my friends phone. I had to drive quite far to get the part and when I had just replaced the screen and started replacing all the other components (the screen is under everything), I managed to pinch a ribbon cable and rip it off. This was only a few hours before I wanted to surprise him with the fixed phone. I ended up going in rush hour traffic to a closer more expensive shop to get another replacement and fixing the phone with only a few minutes before I had to go meet my friend. Overall he was happy I fixed it but I don't think he'll ever know how much trouble it was to do.
when I got this phone It was quite new and being the first water proof and dust proof phone
today I seen oppo, one plus one which seems like can kill this phone anything with their powerful specs but the most secret of it is CyanogenMod I would honestly keep this phone till it dies on me..
1 Year 1 Month
how about you all ?
I will support it till my contract expires at may 2014 and then I will probably buy a Z4
my Z is one year and two months old now

Please note that the phone is water/dust resistant, not proof
I really don't give a damn about specs these days, what can newer phones do that the XZ can't?
I really can't find anything.
my Z i got june last year! some of the rubber seals have started to wear and the screen is a bit scratch but all in all a good solid phone...no major issues apart from firmware/software related

I just got my nexus 6, two and a half weeks ago. I am coming from a Verizon galaxy nexus, so I'm pretty good at unlocking, rooting, installing roms, and the like. I bought it at best buy because I broke my gn, and being they are the only ones that had any in stock, and I need a phone or im lost, I was on vacation visiting family. So I got the none branded one called Verizon got it up in running in five minutes after the 20 min wait to talk to someone.
The first few days I played with it as is never had a problem. So I unlocked it, rooted it and still not any problems. Then a few days later I noticed the speaker would crackle not big thing just noticed it. After that though another weird thing started happening if I answered the phone then decided to use speaker phone i could not hear the other person and they could not hear me, and going back off speaker didn't help till we hung up and recalled.. It does not do it ever time just sometimes.. I had not installed a rom just kept it Google 5.1.1, I really like the new Android. But I did unrooted, relock, factory reset. Then did it all again. Still get some of the problems but not as much. This last problem really pist me off. I had been in 4 states and service from Verizon was great in all but one of them. The one that it didn't not work in was in Missouri not even when I got to Springfield. It was late at night so none of the ton Verizon stores I seen were open, I could dial but not have net service. I tried restarting phone even did a factory restore after trying everything I could think of. That reset screwed me though because it made it a useless since I had no net and was unable to set it back up.. Also I couldn't stop at the ton of Verizon stores in the morning bc they didn't open till later in the day and I needed to get home. The weird thing is almost as soon as I crossed into OK the phone loaded up and started working internet and all.
So my question is, is this normal with these phones? And is their any way to make the radio better? It was on global in that setting so I switched to USA. Still seems to work fine now at my house.
Any help or tips would be much appreciated. Or should I try and do a warranty through Motorola?
I really like this phone and its a major improvement over the gn since we at Verizon got skipped with nexus 5. This battery is a beast 12+hrs doing a crap load of stuff on it rocks

The speaker issue is definitely a known issue. RMA is the only solution.
Crap that really sucks. Thank you though for the reply. Do you know with the RMA if I have to send the phone back first and wait, or will they send a replacement first? Also do they replace with a new one or reman?
I was really hoping it was something in the settings

May luck out and get new but at this point in the cycle probably refurb. Have to send in first or have creditcard they can hit for what it worth now to send first. Credit hit will be deleted once they show it coming back.
