Hi everyone,
I'm on 4.2.2 Camera OTA, and I know I can root. I also want to try out KitKat, but how can I move between the three options?
For example:
I like stock. I think I will root, but I may want to try KitKat too. And once on KitKat, I will probably want to go back to 4.2.2 stock, or maybe rooted.
How do I upgrade while rooted, or downgrade from KitKat?
Any help would be great, I hard bricked my last Moto X while trying to get back to 4.2.2 stock..
Why would you want to be on 4.2.2? 4.4 is official.... It is stock. And it is basically better in every way

Not sure if I like the new white theme and some other stuff..and rooting is much easier on 4.2.2!
Just want to be able to move between them easily..

Pardon my stupidity if this has already been asked, but I couldnt find any info on it.
SIM unlocked and rooted my AT&T Moto X and am running it on my local carrier. Have 4.2 installed with SS. I just got the OTA notification for 4.4 (i assume from AT&T). Is this normal?
Also, if I were to take the OTA, it would break root of course, but could I just use slapmymoto to root it? Also, since I have never done OTAs, are there any disadvantages to it?
TIA
Don't bother taking the ota...the first step of slap my Moto is returning to stock 4.2.2!

So the internet says the kk update is out for Verizon, but the check update setting can't find it yet. Do I need to return to stock to get it? Has it not pushed to my area yet? What do I need to do to get it?

It is there is no root not even for the devices that got it over a week ago I'm on maludus I don't think the update will be pushed to my device if you want root stay away from kk and if you are rooted difinately stay away from kk it will brick your device

I've updates to 4.4.2. Now I want to prevent further updates until I decide to do it. I am rooted.
On 4.3 and 4.4, I used Titanium Backup to freeze the MotorolaOTA and Updater apps. Now that I'm running 4.4.2, there is no Updater app in the list. Is it enough to freeze just MotorolaOTA?
Yup works for for me

Or you can use a root capable file manager to navigate to /system/priv-app and rename the 3C_OTA.APK to somethning else.
Rooting the AT&T Galaxy Note 3. I assume there isn't a way to root this device with stock OTA 4.4.2? Considering I haven't been able to find anything on it, I assume I am correct on this.
Am I also correct that the only way to root and have a custom ROM will be to root from MJ5 and flash a 4.4 ROM that way? I am interested in running SlimROM.
Thanks.
That's correct

Are you talking about slimnote or slim rom because we cannot flash aosp roms

I flashed [ROM]D95920h D-FUSE Stock rooted KK onto my lg-d950at. If anyone has a cwm or twrp backup of the stock at&t firmware ill greatly appreciate it so i can restore it back to the right rom. I have no signal and it says my service is disabled that is why i wish to revert back everything else seems to be working fine.

The flash tool is gonna think u r a D959 so use D959 well I'm hoping that is what did when I tried to port a att rom I had to use att tot file. That is why I have it to make u a rom

Uploading now. 100% stock as so you'll have to root and do recovery again

any chance you could post a link to that .zip, I think that this would help a lot of us dimwits that didn't listen to your original precautions and flashed our AT&T phones
Any word on a link to that zip? I could use it too.
