So the internet says the kk update is out for Verizon, but the check update setting can't find it yet. Do I need to return to stock to get it? Has it not pushed to my area yet? What do I need to do to get it?

I haven't seen anybody mention this, so ignore me if this is common knowledge. I was on my stock 4.2 rooted ROM with CWM recovery and I got the 4.2.1 system update. Attempted it with CWM... And it worked. But not only did it work, after I choose reboot phone, CWM warned me that the ROM I just installed might try to flash stock recovery, and asked if I'd like to fix it. It then warned that I might lose root, again asking if I'd like to fix it. So now I'm on 4.2.1. Through system update. Kept CWM and root. Awesome!

Hm. I just barely rooted today using the Nexus toolkit about lunchtime. Update popped up right when I got off work at about 5:30. (I'm in Utah)

Yeah it was like 1.1mb. Haha. I'm just surprised I could update with CWM and keep root and everything. Awesome solution for people who want to have root but still be stock and get OTAs.

this is interesting I didn't know it did this at all.. wonder if TWRP does a similar thing then?
It works...
Can confirm I flashed through CWM, rooted and on Stock 4.2
CWM warns of the stock ROM flashing stock recovery and also of possibly losing root'n'toot
What fun, flashing for dummies (me) made easier!
It's the second time today I loose my custom TWRP recovery 2.6.3.0. I have never had any problems before. I wanted to go to recovery to flash smth and it just sent me too bootloader. I tried many times and no luck. So I reflashed the recovery with fastboot and everything was ok. Than I wanted to charge my phone, while it was off(faster). As soon as I plugged the charger it sent me directly to bootloader. Tried again and the same. Recovery was gone for the second time. I don't know what to do. I have the latest firmware and am using Insertcoin ROM from the international thread. I think it may be related to the ROM, but am not so sure. Please help!!

I had the same problem with losing recover too and you are right it's from the International roms some of there stuff is not 100%, compatible with our htc one. But like you said no big deal I can live with it.

You can also try this app it works great and will let you flash recovery easy but it does cost money https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joeykrim.flashimagegui

jcase is responsible for the last root exploit. He has stated multiple times that he is not working on another one at the moment.

It has been hinted around that those working on root exploits are saving the exploits for major updates, i.e. 4.3 and so forth.

Yes. DEV. Is really slow. I had just gotten into xposed framework though and had some cool stuff going. And now just stock unrooted moto goodness.

Yea, such a disappointment. I went stock and it's so much snappier. Battery isn't as good but I think it's worth it.

motorola ota 1.0 and updater.apk
Pardon my stupidity if this has already been asked, but I couldnt find any info on it.
SIM unlocked and rooted my AT&T Moto X and am running it on my local carrier. Have 4.2 installed with SS. I just got the OTA notification for 4.4 (i assume from AT&T). Is this normal?
Also, if I were to take the OTA, it would break root of course, but could I just use slapmymoto to root it? Also, since I have never done OTAs, are there any disadvantages to it?
TIA
Don't bother taking the ota...the first step of slap my Moto is returning to stock 4.2.2!

Hi everyone,
I'm on 4.2.2 Camera OTA, and I know I can root. I also want to try out KitKat, but how can I move between the three options?
For example:
I like stock. I think I will root, but I may want to try KitKat too. And once on KitKat, I will probably want to go back to 4.2.2 stock, or maybe rooted.
How do I upgrade while rooted, or downgrade from KitKat?
Any help would be great, I hard bricked my last Moto X while trying to get back to 4.2.2 stock..
Why would you want to be on 4.2.2? 4.4 is official.... It is stock. And it is basically better in every way
