Just installed the official 4.3 update from TMO for the Note II, and I have MK7 running with null_13.
Gear Manager installs the 20 packages, connects to the watch, bring me to the "Accept" dialogues,
then the phone and watch both say Gear Disconnected or out of range.
Do I need to go back to the stock watch firmware/ROM, or what?
I need full notification support.
TIA
Try connecting manually. If you get disconnected notice, you were connected. Try restarting both devices and/or turning off then on the bluetooth on your devices.
Can also go into gear manager and try to reconnect as well

Updated my gear 1 to tizen and also my note 8 Ltd to 4.2.2 using the official Germany dom. ...
Watch pairs with phone both showing code but then......nothing.......tries to connect to watch and fails.....
am I missing something
please help cos right now I hate Samsung so much for making this gear not work
I had that happen while trying to flash a custom recovery and failing which resulting in the watch hard resetting itself. My phone would recognize and pair with the watch but it would go in an endless connecting spree. The solution is to go into your Gear manager and gear plugin app info on the phone or tablet and just clear the data. Or you could just uninstall/reinstall the app and it should do the trick.

Hi Guys any of you encountered getting stuck on Samsung Gear manager when tryin to connect to Samsung gear 1? Im on DN3 V5 Rom with Agni Kernel and I have Samsung gear 1 running Tizen. I tried clearing Rom/Cache/Dalvic, reinstall gear manager app a couple of times including from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2677686. I reset my gear which makes it unusable it can pair through bluetooth.
Before reinstalling gear manager did u try force closing it and reconnecting? That usually fixed it for Me. Worth a try it. Sometimes it takes a couple tries to connect to my phone
Thanks for your suggestion. Ive tried that already but it just stays connecting. My bluetooth detected and paired my Gear with no problem.

Make sure your build.prop DOES NOT claim your device is a Samsung. (and reboot for reverted build.prop to take an action) That fixed an issue for me

I have the same issue with a BQ M5, and One Plus One too. The gear manager was working before with both phones, but when I upgraded gear firmware with first the BQ , gear manager doesn't connect anymore. Then I reset my watch, delete apps, clean mobile... restart... etc with no luck. I try to install old firmware and an old gear manager app (the one that worked before with this phone and gear firmware) and same result, stuck on "connecting...". This has happend with both phones after they both upgraded firmware on the gear s2 using gear manager. I think it's something with the upgrade process, that makes the gear manager unusable on the phone that downloads and performs the upgrade on the watch. I have to initialize the gear with a friends phone so that I can almost see the time...
searched the internet for a solution but same issue is happening already with Samsung phones to some people.
If someone have any clue on how to debug or try to trace this bug, any suggestion will be appreciated.
hello everybody,
untill last week my gear was working fine, but 2 days ago i wanted to flash null_rom because i was interested in the function on internet bluetooth tethering
i flashed the rom, i connect the gear to my note 3 ( rom s5 ported) and all was working fine, except for the fact that i couldn't use bluetooth tethering.. i don't know why!
so i decided to wipe all and reflash the rom from recovery. Then i reboot the watch and i tried to reconnect phone and gear, and i couldn't! i opened gear manager, find my gear e and paired with my device: the phone said "connecting to gear" and on the watch there was the symbols of connction between the devices.. the gear stuck on this but my phone said that was connected, but i couldn't use the watch beacuse i had always the animation of connecting devices on the gear!
i didn't know what to do, so i decided to reflash the last firmware for gear (android 4.2.2 nc1, not tizen, i don't want it!). Now the problem is worse, i think, because the gear and phone try to connect but the phone says that "the base that i tried to connect could be wrong :/ , while the gear doesn't show nothing! i have always the 2 icon of demostration of connection by bluetooth or nfc: when i try to pair the devices, both phone and watch vibrate and show the code of pairing, i accept in both of device but nothing happens! could someone help me? i also tried to unpair the devices and downgrading the gear manager to reconnect devices, but the older gear manager says that i have to upgrade the software of the gear, but i don't want tizen at all! i like android
Help me please!!
Did u use custom rom on your note 3 ? If yes try to reinstall back that rom and if still cannot then u must use original stock rom before can sync with your GG.
Hope this can give u little bit idea..... peace
I know this might be a lost cause but I will ask anyway. I had my watch and loved it(still do) but since getting the Pixel XL I have had issues. These are the steps I have taken so far.
1. turned both watch and phone on and turned on bluetooth
2. watch connected to phone and reset itself
3. connected to phone via bluetooth and got the passkey (stated it would be phone audio only)
4 launched the gear manager and it tried to find it but would not (even though the bluetooth did)
5. downloaded the XDA gear manager and installed it on the phone but it force closes each time.
So anyone else with similar issue? I suspect it is the app version not being for android 7.1 or the fact the watch is no longer compatible with other devices anymore (hopefully not).
Any help is greatly appreciated on this subject.
Thank you All.
I have a friend who is having the same issue, Gear 2 on the Pixel XL. We put the app on the phone, reset the watch, but I can't connect the two. Bluetooth connection seems to work, but the app doesn't pick up where it needs to in order to complete the process. He came from a Note 4 (with a Note7 in between). I have an S2 watch I need to try this on as well, but I figure I'll likely have the same issue. Eagerly awaiting an update to fix this!

I would like to know if there's a solution to this as well. I upgraded from a Note 4 and haven't had any luck getting my Neo to show up in Gear Manager for my LG V20.
I came from an S4 and had the exact same issue as stated. It will connect through bluetooth devices, but the Gear Manager app refuses to find or acknowledge it exists.
I suggest doing a factory reset. I have to do a reset every time I flash a new rom on my phone. I have to do this on both the tizen rom and android wear.
Has anyone figured out how to connect pixel XL to the gear neo 2? I am having the same problem. Can connect to watch with Bluetooth, but will not connect through the app.
Thanks for any help.
have any of you with this problem flashed android wear to the gear 2 neo? i use it as a daily driver and its very stable, might be the solution for your issues
Had it but lost it
I had my pixel XL connect to a flashed gear2 Neo
I reset my phone and know no matter what I try it won't connect this happened at the same time they updated Android Wear. W os . I installed an old version of Android Wear could not connect I flashed different roms
I'm giving up
Does the watch have to be paired with a phone to download the update or can it download it via the watch's Wi-Fi connection?

It must be connected. Unless unrelated, I left my watch before stepping out on download, and when I came back it got interrupted.
When the watch and the phone were again together, the D/L went all the way no problem.

The watch does not need to be paired with the phone during download of the 2.0 firmware.
But you will have to connect the phone and pair it when the watch tells you to do it but that
happens after the full firmware is downloaded.
Good luck, have a great day!
