Hi,
I just flashed cyanogenmod 11 and noticed there is no voicemail number set. Im not sure if there is a number by area your in so I'm from Schererville, In also where in settings do I change this?
Thanks!
Just use your phone number as voicemail number. That works for me.
And for the settings: phone app>call settings>voicemail>setup

Hello
You might want to check on that phone number. I have At&t in the Chicagoland area and it is a total different number than my actual cell phone number. You want to go to the dialer and go to settings and navigate to voicemail. Its in there.

Yeah, there should be a default AT&T voicemail # but sometimes when you flash ROMs the number is deleted. Using your own # will have the same effect as if you have the default #

Go to the call forwarding section in the phone (dialer) settings and you'll find your true voice mail number...

yes it will. there are alot of settings to choose from. you can send to voice mail, have it just hang up on any number you put in. you can block all numbers starting with certain prefix or ad any number you want from you contacts or resent calls or just put a number in that you wantto block. you can get a notification that a number has been blocked or not. you can also have it send a text to a number after its been blocked or do nothing. the black list is nice to, you can even block numbers from texting you to. there are alot of options to choose from.

There is a setting so it will not ring at all. I have mine set so I don't even get any kind of notifications at all.
Try Call Filter
I am on GiffGaff which is a virtual network of O2 in the U.K. As a result the dialer thinks my voicemail is 901 rather than 443. I wouldnt normally care but i have a persistant notification to check my voicemail. I am unable to change the voicemail number in the dialer for some reason as the setting is greyed out. Instead i found a voicemailconf.xml file under /system/etc, and there also one in /etc.
This is a lookup dictionary for all the networks and their voicemail numbers, ive tried editiing the O2 one to 443 in both files but after restarting it goes back to 443. Really annoying what am i doing wrong, now do i make this permantent?
I have replied to your other thead on this same subject
Please do not post duplicate threads it is against the TOS
I am with giffgaff as well and press and hold 1 works with out any issues goes to giffgaff.
If you need to change the number go into settings then go to voicemail settings, then click on voicemail number and change it!
Guys the option to change the voice mail in the dialler app is greyed out. Holding 1 just goes to 901. The phone is convinced I'm with o2. How do I make permanent changes to the system partition?

Sorry if this in the wrong spot but need some help with GV not working now. (kicked Apple to the curb so this is my first go at this w/ the Note 3)
If my GV # is called it will not ring my phone like it did when I set it up a week ago. You can leave a VM and it will show up in the stock phone call log, show up in GV app inbox and translate. If I dial a number from the stock phone it will ask if I want to dial with GV or not and that works. But my phone will not ring if that GV number is dialed. The phone use to ring and then if it was my Google # I had to press 1 to answer the call.
I uninstalled GV a couple times and restarted the phone but that didn't work either!
I installed Phone for Google Voice until I can get this back working correctly and yes if I dial my GV# this new app rings and I can now get calls with my phone.
Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

As a Nexus 4 user, I wrote the instruction in Nexus 4 forum.

Vonage Mobile app has allowed android users to make free phone calls using GV number as CID. However, it didn't allow us to receive GV calls, which was a big drawback of this app.
But now, it's possible to receive free GV calls with "ReachMe Roaming."
1. Go to Vonage Mobile app>settings and choose "ReachMe Roaming"
2. Do NOT check "Inbound calls to xxx-xxx-xxxx will be received on Vonage Mobile."
3. Click "More ways to ..."
4. Write down the Vonage assigned new incoming 10-digit DID number.
5. Add this number as one of your GV forwarding numbers. It may take a while for GV to verify this number. It took me several tries.
Now you can make free WIFI GV incoming/outgoing calls.
Notes: 1. This is irrelevant to gtalk XMPP shutdown.
2. Vonage app uses GCM so very little battery drain.
3. This app uses a better audio codec so the call is clear especially over WIFI.
Caveats:
1. ReachMe Roaming is not permanent. Once activated, it only lasts for ~2 weeks.
This only works if you are on a gsm carrier for some strange reason.

Correct. Here's a review that mentioned GSM limitation.

Google,
Please turn on Hangouts VOIP calling feature for android so that we don't have to come up with these silly tricks.
