I think yes. I think you see it in flashtool while/after flashing(the "log" when you are flashing).

[Q] Bricked Xperia X8 (E15i) HELP!!! May be hard brick

Okay please help. I have an unlocked bootloader (or had an unlocked bootloader) on my X8, it was rooted as well. I decided I'd like to get a custom Rom so I attempted to install GingerDX. I installed Clockwork Recover mod and tested it out to see if it was working. It was so I decided to back the phone up. The back up worked fine and I moved the backup to my computer. Then I restarted the phone to install the GingerDX rom. I cleared all the user data and I then went to install a zip file then chose the zip file. The installation completed so I pressed the back button and it said something about it being unsafe and that I will have no backup but I thought it was going to be fine as I had a backup of the kernel and the system on my computer.
I decided to ignore the warning as the installation said it was completed as well. But when I rebooted using Clockwork recovery mod the phone was stuck on the Sony Ericsson loading screen and was for around 10 minutes before I turned it off by removing the battery. I tried to enter the flash mode and reinstall the kernel on to the phone through flashtool but this failed and after that I can't seem to enter flash mode at all.
Please, is there any way for this to work? I'm guessing it's a hard brick but is there anything that I could try to fix it considering I have a system backup and the stock kernel backup as well? Anything will be greatly appreciated and rewarded.
it looks like you're on stock kernel. custom kernels do not show the se logo (haven't encountered one that does and i've tried quite a lot). are you sure you unlocked your bootloader? if you did, you haven't flashed a custom kernel yet.
don't worry it's only a soft brick. try using seus, pcc, or flashtool to recover it and go back stock rom. flash the rom, not the kernel.
did you download the stock kernel version of gdx? if not, that's probably why you encountered a bootloop.
edit: you also need to wipe dalvik cache and do a full wipe before flashing a rom
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion and I'm pretty sure I got the stock kernel version. Just in case I didn't can you send me a link if possible? Also I am on the stock kernel, I unlocked the bootloader but didn't bother flashing the kernel.
I've already tried PC Companion but I don't understand how to use it considering the phone actually cannot boot so I can't choose to connect the phone etc. Also I can't enter the clock work recovery mod anymore or the flash mode.

just download the stock rom for x8 and flash it using flashtool. you do need pcc installed for that anyway.
well, i believe you when you say you have gdx's stock kernel version. maybe it's just that you didn't wipe cache, dalvik cache, and full wipe before flashing it?
just a Q though. why not flash a custom kernel? it makes a huge difference.
btw here's the link for stock: http://goo.im/devs/TeamFun/GingerDX/GingerDX-v031b-shakira-stock.zip
edit: you need to flash the stock se rom first to get out of the bootloop. then reroot you phone, install cwm, reboot to recovery and wipe, flash the rom.

I've been such an idiot. After a couple of tries it seems that I can actually boot to flash mode so it was just as simple as using Sony Update Service and repairing the phone. I feel like a bit of a tard. Anyway, this thread is resolved. Thanks for all your help and I've  but just as a last note what kernel will go well with the GingerDX Rom?
And again thanks for all the quick help man. greatly appreciated.

I tried unlocking my bootloader. The phone turned off an since then no sign of life...
No charging, no led flashing, doesn't turn on, won't go in flash mode.
SEUS, PCC and Flashtool doesn't recognise it.
Is it hardbicked? Is anything that can be done?
Waranty expired too!

send it to a nearby Sony service center because your manufacturing date isn't safe to perform the unlocking of the bootloader, and yes, it is indeed a hard brick

[Q] XperiaV brick after flash CM10.2 kernel

Hi, I'm have a problem with my Xperia V (LT25i).

First of all it O.K. so I wipe all data, system, cache for reset my phone but when I turn it off it won't turn on again.
No sign of it's life. :crying:
No fastboot, no flash mode only red LED blink when charge without battery.
Anyone can help me?

Hold on a minute.. Your telling us that you wiped system, data & cache and then your saying it doesn't turn on?
That's pretty obvious, you had to flash CM right after the wipe.
Or your battery might be low.

As NuriJ said, there is no system on your phone right now (I missed that). If I remember correctly you can extract the boot.img from the CM ROM, it includes recovery afaik. Flash the boot.img with Flashtool and then flash the ROM from recovery.

Bricked Sony Xperia Z1!! Need help urgently!!!

So I was flashing a custom rom in CWM and it was just about to reboot when it said that it could not find the root files and asked if I wanted to install them. I clicked yes and now its stuck on the Sony sign. I can't turn it off or anything.
I tried using flash tool but it said i had to turn it off and go into flashmode which I have no way of doing.
Please help ASAP

This is not a brick, it is just a bootloop. i think, you didn't wiped data / cache ?! just flashed the zip?!
If you flash a rom with cwm, that is another rom then your actual one, then you will have to wipe data / cache.
So first go to CWM and wipe data / factory reset. then try to boot again.
If you need flashmode:
Turn off device (if it is stuck, press and hold Power + VolUp)
Then hold VolDown and connect the usb cable
PS: for the next time, try reading the pinned posts in dev forums before you ask such questions, cause this is BASIC KNOWLEDGE for flashing a device.

hmm you dont need to reinstall ... the important thing is WIPE DATA ... Android leaves files on the data partition that may not be compatible with the new rom and that then is a bootloop or other problems with the new rom. so everytime you flash a new rom, wipe data!

Stuck in weird limbo between normal and ultra stamina mode - please help!

Hey everyone,
So this started after I used Ultra Stamina Mode to conserve power, but after I turned it off my phone went into some weird state that looks like ultra stamina mode but I can use internet/wifi, 10% of my apps are (facebook, whatsapp etc) are usable. Its very frustrating...not sure what to do, i've tried restarting and all the obvious stuff. I used USM before (Nov last year) and it worked fine, so I have no idea why it would play up like it has.
If anyone has had this and/or knows how to fix it please enlighten me.
Thank you!

Umm I've never had this before.... Is your bootloader locked, or unlocked? Try to install a recovery and wipe your cache and dalvik cache (even if your bootloader is locked you can install a recovery). If this doesn't work you could try to reflash your firmware, though I hope this won't be necessary.

Bootloader is locked, phone isn't rooted. I am not very android savvy so I apologize if I don't get something...in this case what is a 'recovery' and how does one install it? How do i wipe cache and what is dalvik cache?
And I guess reflashing firmware is a factory reset i imagine? Can I do any of this without losing my data and app data?
Also I just dialed *#*#7378423#*#* and noticed I can reset customization under 'customization settings'. Will this help? It won't wipe any of my data will it?
(I tried booting phone in safe mode, which made no difference)

Oh don't worry, your phone needs to be rooted to get a working recovery. If you don't feel familiar with it you don't need to do it.
Yeah, reflashing your firmware basically means a factory reset. You can do it with Sony PC Companion (or it's succesor). This does mean that you will loose your apps and data, so you should back it up before doing so.
I highly doubt changig your customization will do anything.

Is the backup I made with TWRP good for this?
Or not, because the backup was made while I had that Ultra Stamina Mode glitch? Maybe I could delete a file in the backup which has those settings stored on it?

It's pretty much useless as your problems will be restored, too

Decided to give it a try again...restored the backup, and tried wiping the cache and delvik again. The phone didn't brick this time but nothing changed either...
