Another nice little program that will do this is BaseHueExpress - check it out. No .cab installation, just unzip, copy the .exe file anywhere on your phone, and click to execute.

Hey Guys
I wanna change my signal icon so it says 4G instead of LTE.
On my HTC One XL there was a file called buildflag located under /system/customise/ that I could change to match my carrier to do it but it doesn't seem to be there anymore.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Bump anybody?

Mine changed when I flashed an ITNL ROM, 3G=3G, HSPA+=H, and 4G=... IDK I don't have AT&T 4GLTE here -.-
Yeah most countries use that standard it's just I the US the company's are exploiting a loop hole that allows them to use the term 4G for what effectively is HSDPA+.
Not looking to change the rom just looking for the build flag file to change so I can have 4G come up instead of LTE. I think I'll try posting in the rom thread instead.
Thanks anyway mate.

If you only want icon to change (and not the actual network level) you can rename files in SystemUI.apk (/system/app) under /res/drawable/xx-hdpi and push it back to the phone

Thanks mate - not exactly the answer I was looking for but I think I can make it work.
Ok so the icons are already there just going to rename them from 4G to LTE as you suggested.
Swapped the SystemUI.apk around and the status bar didn't show.

Probably too late now but you can just change the sku_id to match t-mobiles. I had this problem and almost messed up my phone flash crap just for that. just look for /system/customize/ACC/default.xml in root explorer and change that SKu_id to 11 and restart and the icon with change to the 4G.
