I am on RAGE One, and really like it so far. However, I would like to remove the persistent GPS icon. Is there an ADB command that will do it? I tried sense 5 toolbox and OMJ modpack, and the toolbox doesn't work, and the modpack also installs horizontal toggles that I can't remove.
Thanks for the help guys.
I have it removed in the stock 5.5 I'm using I'll take a look at rage one and get you a zip later

Do you still have the GPS removal zip laying around? Will it work for 4.4.2?
I have tried a couple of the ones floating around here, but none seem to work as before. I have even tried to edit the icon via ES file explorer, but it won't stick after a reboot.
No it won't work on 4.4

Nice. Thanks. Just curious... If I were to try to adjust other items in the default. xml and they didn't work, can I just change them back or reload my original backup via recovery and everything would be as it once was?

does that sku break cdma split messaging? i know using generic htc sku "0" breaks it, but hides gps, and shows proper 1x.

That's because its a system app. You have to put it in /system/app/ with a root capable file explorer. Change permissions to match the rest of the apps there too.

Yes indeed! I guess I forgot to mention that I'm one of the low-life bums who haven't rooted yet (might not either) and am wondering if someone can create an installable .apk . I realize the earlier version that was posted is installable, but as was stated in the post, the resolution is not correct.
Just root it... I rooted mine within about 10 minutes of ownership
I was wondering if anyone knew a way to remove the black background of the 4x1 sense clock/weather widget. This would make it match the one on the lock screen. Would be really awesome if there is a way to do this.
Also as a second thought is there a way to remove the background on the rosie bar as well but leave the line that is on top of it. This would make it look similar to the top bar (as a separate patch from the clock one)
Thanks in advance for any replies!

For weather clock bg its in htcweatherclockwidget clock_weather_panel and for the dock its in prism home_nav_bar_bg both are jpgs in stock and must be turned into a png and then apply transparency to them
Sent From A Tweaked OutHTC ONE
Thank you for the reply!
I've never modded android files before is there a certain color that represents transparent or do I just bring it into photoshop and delete the background?
Once i have modded these files do I leave them as PNGs with the same title or do I have to make them jpgs again (which I don't think support transparency but I could be wrong)
Sorry I'm a novice at this.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Things I have tried to no avail (I'm noob)
1) exporting the files from the APKs converting to PNG and making it transparent then saving them in the APK as PNG (removing the old jpg)
2) This did not work so I then tried renaming the PNG back to .jpg still keeping the exact title then tried both flashing a zip and manually overwriting the file and rebooting still did not work (manually replacing the APK just caused HTC to crash over and over until I flashed my backup)
3) tried using a morph app that was recommended elsewhere on the forum (NinjaMorph) applied the file change, no change appears on the clock still solid background

basically it modifies the apk existing already on the system, so for example 4.2 sense 5 might have the same widget but since it's upgraded firmware the apk in this zip might not work or FC, so the VR theme would decompile the apk replace any of the changed files then recompile the apk in line so it works on any number of devices/roms/ect

Hi - I have been looking for a mod that totally removes/hides the standard battery icon. Does anyone happen to know if there is one available? The only one I've seen is adding the percentage. I'd like to use ChargeBar for my battery indicator so I'd like to get rid of the standard one.
Thanks!

After some reading I found out that SystemUI.apk contains the status bar icons. I am sure it's a pretty simple job for a themer and the icons are already there. You just have to replace the GSM icons with the 3G ones and recompile

You sir are brilliant!!
thanks alot, works perfectly.
Might be a stupid question, but out of curiosity, what would happen if we had to completely replace the systemUI.apk from a gsm rom on our sprint roms?
the reason i ask is cos I know this method masks the gsm icons with the 3G ones.
and that constantly shows the 3G icon regardless of if we are connected to 3G / HSDPA or EDGE.
so just wondering if its possible to show the correct icon for when its connected to the respective data connection.
but never the less. This mod is perfect.

I am pretty sure that wouldn't work. Yes this method just shows 3G instead of GSM, but I think it's nearly impossible to make it work like a GSM phone. The phone's primary use is with Sprint network, so GSM is secondary. I think that's the best we can get
