My friend (elderly) gave me her Xperia Z so I could get her sim setup. Because I have been getting over 2 nights up straight, watching my dog (he has neurological issues and I am nursing him currently) I was really tired and accidentally put a micro sim adapter in the sim slot the wrong way up. Its now well and truly stuck in there. It started out being stuck half way (the hole wasnt coliding with the pins though so hopefully they arent damaged? then i pushed it in completely in the hope of maybe hitting an ejecting mechanism, no such luck. Im taking it to a local repair shop. Im really worried (she knows and isnt worried lol) that one of the pins might have been snapped off? I have tried shaking it about and I cant hear any rattling at all (maybe theres not enough room for it to do so even if it was the case) so maybe thats a good start. I did apply a bit of gentle force to pull it out but I didnt feel anything break or hear any snaps.
If I did break a pin, how much do you think it will cost for an independent phone shop to repair it for me? I dont mind paying the fee because its through my negligence.
probably would be cheaper to buy one used or online

that was in response for if he damaged the sim slot and going to a shop.

Managed to get the guy round at the shop to get the back off for me and I have done the rest. I have now cut off the end of the adapter and I can happily report that NONE of the pins are broken! Great news. Now i just need to figure out how to get it out because the rest is still stuck. If I cut the one side more than the other I might be able to rotate it out.

I hope my grave mistake will be a lesson for those who decide to open the phone.
Long story short - ALWAYS, ALWAYS check the SD card slot before disassembling the phone. I forgot to do that and left the card in (I intended to replace the housing), and as a result, I have the slot cracked open. Now all my attempts to find a repair shop which can put it back together failed and the phone worths zero.
Now I am wondering whether anybody here can help me fix it. The problem is I cannot find any schematics of the SD card slot to put the spring and the other part back (I actually do not have any instruments except small screwdrivers and tweezers). If there is such a great guy who can do that, I will gladly pay him or her (I can mail the motherboard and parts together with a check that will cover mailing it back to me).
Here are the pictures of what happened and what was inside the slot:

and
Man, I feel for that damage =\
If I didn't lived in such a far place as Brazil, I would try to fix your phone.
My Wizard is disassembled, and right now, all I could see is that the spring goes on right side, as staring the motherboard on the first pic.
I'll take some macro shots here and try to help you.
Good luck and cheers

Thank you for your kind words, man! Yes, any hint will help - I have no idea how that little cog is attached (and if it's not bent).
deleted as doubled
Sorry for asking for help again!
Does anyone know where to get the schematics of push-pull SD card slot? I wanna try fixin it myself, its just that cog that bothers me.
Another possibility would be to buy a drive for lets say, netbooks, and either solder it to the MB, or carefully disassemble to see what's inside. The question is - where to buy such part?
Thanks in advance to everybody!
Anyone knows where i can find it? Mine is slightly loose now, (after i opened it for changing the SD-card)
Any help is much appreciated.

I bought mine and didn't even touch it and there's a gap between the charger and the bottom cover of the phone where you can see the SIM card. Just a very poor design.
I have the same problem. I opened it to swap the sd card, and since then it doesn't close perfectly anymore.
I called htc about this, and they confirm that they only sell the upper part of the back cover. You can send it in, but then it'll cost you about 40 dollars for the fix, minus the shipping. I just ordered a silicone cover instead.
I just hope that they will start selling those bottom parts too.

I agree with you I have seen many review criticise this! There seems to be a poor quality control at HTC for the HD7, the gap to me looks like about 1mm that's not acceptable!
Fortunately I have been very luck my HD7 does not have that gap!
It's a shame ... seriously ... the back housing is not the only part of a low quality ...
Even the power button doesnt seem to work properly (after two week of usage!) and i have to press it really hard to get it to work.
and I also saw the "Tarnished camera button" in the other thread ...
HTC!!!! SERIOUSLY?!!!
my local HTC repair shop contacted a lot of people but was also unable to get the part. i am thinking of superglue right now ...
superglued down. no other option but its perfect now
The gap annoyed me after I upgraded it to 32GB... So I carefully sanded down some of the plastic lugs and superglued the bottom part to the body. Yup, I know it was quite drastic but at least I've ended up with a perfect HD7... And a voided warranty! It's a shame that HTC allowed this horrible gap. My old HD2 was much better finished.
As much as i'd like to post a link for some back covers for you all there seems to be a lack of spare parts for the moment . I did however find a coverall solution that although doesn't fix your phones will at least let you hold it together until we can buy some at a later date

If you don't like the look of those there are various ones available from the us http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_np...313&_nkw=hd7+casing&_sacat=See-All-Categories

My USB port stopped charging, before it would work by wiggling the port a bit but now its completely dead...Tried cleaning it, dry tooth brush and rubbing alcohol... nothing worked.
Little fustrated; I drove an hour to the only Samsung Service Center in Ontario Canada and waited there to tell them my issue...
The staff there are overworked and highly stressed, throwing the "s" bomb and "f" bomb while running around.
When it finally got to my turn I told them it stopped charging they took it in and waited.... they came out and told me because I rooted the device they will now VOID MY WARRANTY!
This was clearly a hardware issue and not a software one... yes I rooted, but seriously with that kind of service I'll be making my next purchase with something else...
Now I ordered a part from ebay and have to perform this:

I fixed it myself at the end... Trick is to use a hair dryer and take your time... The part from eBay is less than $20.

Well, that would cost you $4-$500, while this replacement would cost you $20 with a certain risk of having to replace the phone anyway.
So might as well try repairing it (or getting it done by a local shop, since if they **** up they'll pay for it).
Hi, Guys,
When you purchase the Sprint LG G2, does it come with the MicroSIM tray ejection tool? Mine doesn't have it, just wondering if that's normal or not. Also was not able to find a good tool to eject the tray, paper clip is too thick for the hole. How do you put in SIM card?
Thanks!

Dude, just find the thinnest metal thing you have around and stick it in. Be careful not to break it tho if too thin. Or drop by nearest cell phone shop and ask them to assist you, I am sure they have tools and will be glad to help you with that.
Thanks!

My Sprint LG G2 did not come with a tool. I used a thumbtack.
A paperclip worked for me though.
Look for a paperclip which isnĀ“t fat. xD
Or simply open up the back cover and use your nail to slide the tray out.
I found tooth pick also works, that could serve as a cheap alternative
I used a safetypin.

Hi,
My Z3C must've randomly lost part of the bottom bezel at some point - I still don't understand why and how.
Phone was always in a TPU bumper case so it can't fall off or out. Must've gotten loose and dropped at some point when I removed the bumper to remove the sim card.

The part that's missing is the edge part between bottom bezel and SIM card flap.
Phone was just sent in for repair for another issue(vibration more had a loose connection) and I got it back without issues..but that part of the bezel is still missing. Didn't mention it when it was repaired in fear of Sony denying a warranty repair.
Fixing it would be 5s job with super glue....so any idea where and how to get that part ?
Did lots of googling but couldn't find anything.
Only other option I could think of would be buying a broken/dead Z3C and ripping that bezel piece off.
youll probably have to get the whole frame
Seems like a waste. The small part that's missing ist just glued on.
Guess I'll have to look for a broken Z3C to get the spare part.
Are there Showroom models of the Z3C ? Like they have in shops sometimes, just the exterior without any electronics inside.
*Edit* Oh ok now I realize what you meant.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/for-Sony-Xp...Metal-Frame-Bezel-Plate-ZVHR277-/301593214487
Didn't expect the entire frame to be that cheap! Thanks m8.
I have a lot of it but if You live outside EU shipping can be more expensive than those fram on eBay.
I do live in the EU but allready ordered the ebay bezel.
Thanks though, might help out the next guy.
No problem. I have a lot of it cause whole frame is a trash after changing whole screen using original part. Anyway good advice for You - change only bumpers You need, not the whole frame. If You don't have knowledge hot to remove screen safety just skip it.
