I know that if I unlock now thje bootloader it'll wipe my sd card: does it mean no apps, contacts, etc?
If so, can I make a backup with PC Companion, unlock and then retsore everything? Will this work?
pc companion will not update with an unlocked bootloader.
Backup your apps with backup and restore app
Backup your internal SD card to external sd card or you rpc
restore everything after unlocking

I have made a backup of my phone with CWM to my SD card. Now i want to copy that backup to my computer if my phone or SD card is broken.
What file(s) do i need to copy from the SD card and where are they located? I only need the backup file.
Do the backup file need to be copied to the exact same place on a new SD card if my existing phone/SD card gets broken?
on the external sd card under
clockworkmod\backup
And yes it's got to be put back exact or it wont work

Maybe you already know that, but with LG-P990 you need to manually enter on the bootloader (power+vol down) and start your backups/restore. The Rom Manager feature that automates this isn't working on Optimus 2X.

I do all my backups through Rom Manager.
I can make a backup with the ROM Manager but cannot restore with it. It doesnt show up in ROM manager. It does in CWM by the way. Strange.

what do yo mean it does not work? it doesn't back it up? or will perform the backup but restoring from it will make your device unusable?
It's 'cos ROM Manger looks in /sdcard and the actual backups are in /sdcard/_ExternalSD
i checked my Sd card... and back up is in sdcard... i don't have any _externalSD
_ExternalSD is the on the internal SD.
When I open the album app, always pop-up a error "Memory unavailable" "Memory unmounted or unavailable"
Or
When I do a photo : "Memory error"
I tried to re-flash stock rom multi, but still the same.
How to fix it?
make a backup and delete all contents off the card in either settings/storage or in recovery.
Restore your backed up data, it will now work

copy everything you want to keep from your internal and/or external memory to your pc.
delete everything of your internal and/or external memory in settings/storage (Or in cmw recovery if you have installed that)
reboot
restore your data to the internal and/or external memory.

Yes!!!
I deleted the internal memory and now works perfectly.
thank you very much
I found this page, because I had the same problem. (it's one of the first google results) And I want to leave this here, in case somebody else does, too.
After programming sd card to work as internal memory, so i could actually have some space in my phone, camera app started showing "error: memory unavailable".
None of the solutions here (or elsewhere) worked. Until i did a very simple thing.
I downloaded another camera app from playstore. All of them are taking pics normally and saving them where i want to. Problem solved. So, if anyone is on verge of buying a new phone, try that first.
I was running rooted stock ICS for Turkey and I installed JB for Germany after it released. When Turkey update for JB released, I moved on it and tried to restore my settings and apps. However when I tried to restore, while Titanium Backup in progress I got the error memory full and couldn't achieve the restore process. I erased backups more than one and tried to do wipes but no solution. I made a clean install again and there were about 1GB space but when I rooted and installed Titanium Backup again, the space decreased to 400MB. I guessed there was a problem about TB and now I decided to run a complete new install.
So my question is how to format SD Card completely? There are a lot of folders about apps and apps that I removed etc. I want them gone and I want my phone as it is on the first day. How can I do that progress? I tried factory reset but it didn't involve SD Card. Everything remains same. How can I erase all the things on SD Card?

If you are on safe kernel then yes you can format your internal sd card. Just go to SETTINGS>STORAGE>FORMAT SDCARD(INTERNAL STORAGE)

JB doesn't support move-to-SD. You can only use the internal as main storage

It's not about that. I just rooted and I think CWM saved backup on internal sdcard.
Can I make the phone use my external sdcard? Or delete the internal sdcard altogether?
Edit: I am afraid to change the rom because I cant find the place CWM backuped.
If you boot into CWM and choose backup and restore and then Restore you will find your backup.
Most of the time the backups are stored in SDcard/CWM/Backups

In CWM you can chose where it will store backup files. You can choice between backup on internal or external (marked as sdcard1) storage.
Backup and backup to external SD card (atleast on my Samsung Galaxy S+)

Is it that you have taken a nandroid backup?
because TWRP wont take any space on internal memory or sd card unless you have a nandroid backup.. Check the folder..
