Hi guys,
Yesterday i found there's this thing called swapping internal and external sd cards for more storage for games.
How it works, it adds two cards in one or its just changing the places (sdcard0 to sdcard1 and sdcard1 to sdcard0)?
And so, i flashed Helly bean, i flashed swap kernel for 4.3 by mackay and it didnt seem diffrent. How can i recognize the change and why when i mount the cards to pc i see just the one - my external card? Should i use another rom
Edit: Tried Cm10.2.0 without the kernel everything is fine, with the kernel its like my internal sd card doesnt exist
No worries i figured it out, after the problem i reinstalled other rom and my cards are swiped without me installing the swapped sd kernel

Hey guys,
I just lately updated my CM7 from an older revision of it, (I think the thread for development was removed? I couldn't find it again) and installed the latest galaxysmtd (whats an mtd?) package on my phone. Prior to that, anyhow, I had an SD card issue.
- The 'SD Card' of the phone was unavailable (total and current usage)
Internal SD card was almost full (shouldnt be, but whatever)
My external worked fine.
Now, I removed my external (I didnt want it to get accidentally formatted etc) and I formatted my entire phone, wiped everything etc., and restarted and now both my Internal SD Card, 'SD Card' and External SD Card (external should be like this because its not in anymore) are unavailable. My phone pretty much just said I have 0 memory.
How can I fix my SD Cards ...?

First, as to your opening questions....Brother, if you are asking what MTD is the you have a LOT of reading to do. GO to the CM7 Dev thread and get started.
As to the SD card issue...you FORMATTED the SD card, that is erased it fully? That may help explain why it is unavailable.
What firmware are you running at the moment?
Haha, I would assume so.
My SD card(s) were not working previous to the format nor prior.
My phone is the Bell Vibrant I9000M
I'm using the CM7 06132011 Nightly (Todays)
and my kernel is 2.6.35.7-g2eb7780 [email protected] #1 (if that helps .. )
:\
EDIT::
So.. I google'd MTD etc., lol and MTD is a seperate partition?
Maybe thats why my SD Card isnt working.. its not on the right partition in the first place?
-> was looking here.
Hey guys,
I just went through the process
of installing the gingerDX rom on my x8 with Stock kernal and baseband *****15. (i have CWM)
It seems to work fine, however i then noticed that it wouldnt pick up my memory
card at all, as in i cant mount my memory card but when i remove my memory card
it says "SD card removed please inserted a new one" which still doesnt work
when i reinsert it (i have also tried a new memory card)
I have already reinstalled the ROM done the full factory reset also.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Any chance you messed around with your SD card previous to installing the ROM?
Since you obviously managed to flash the ROM off of your SD card it seems as ClockworkMod was actually able to pick up the card.
What brand/class? There are a some rare cases where Gingerbread dislikes certain SDs or where the card was improperly partitioned/formatted.

Yeah there is a chance that i have, but i undone everything.
Also its a Micro SD 2G.
Hey, My i9000 is running the latest PA 4.3 Beta 2. I tried flashing Semaphore along with it, but all the time it shows that the Internal SD is unmounted. This is the issue with the other Kernels too! The SD Card is only mounted with the stock PA Kernel, otherwise the SD Card mounts in any ROM.
I just flashed Allrams cm-11-20140706-UNOFFICIAL-jactiveltexx.zip without a problem (after a full wipe). System running fine, but unfortunately my SDCard (Samsung 64GB ExFat formatted) isn't recognized.
The card is recognized via Recovery, as well as on my PC.
Any suggestions?

I would have posted this question in the appropriate thread, but not enough posts until now...
I installed Spegelius version cm-11-20140702-UNOFFICIAL-jactiveltexx_NE5.zip. Ext. SDCard is recognized. Everything running smooth so far...
It seems, problem within allrams version.
I have allram build but sd card is working, but earlier when I had Sandisk instead of Samsung card I also did have problems ..
Which size of card? Also in ExFat formatted?
Spegelius build of 20140702 wasn't able to play YouTube videos, so I changed ROM to Carbon (CARBON-KK-UNOFFICIAL-20140704-2345-jactiveltexx.zip).
SD card is recognized, YouTube is working. Only few camera crashes.
It seems, there is only a problem in allrams build with 64GB cards formatted with ExFat.
Hi I use this one https://www.cyberport.de/samsung-pro-64-gb-microsd-speicherkarte-class-10-bis-70mb-s-uhs-i--4H02-03F_1519.html Allram newest build but worked on previous also .. Funny things on this custom builds how different thing work on one phone but not on other (regarding my video 10 min recording limit)
My SDCard is Samsung microSDXC Pro 64GB (Class 10) in my SGS4 Active, formatted with exFAT. Worked with stock rom 4.4.2.
I have flashed several allrams builds. Recognized in Recovery but after a restart or boot up then randomly my card is recognized in CM11 but not all files and folders are found.
When I go to Settings/Storage and unmount and mount back the external card then it finds all files and folders.
If I connect my phone to a PC, I can't transfer files to external card, only to internal storage if external card is unmounted under Settings/Storage.
Hi,
I was using one of the nightly of CM11 and recently i updated my rom to 11-20141102-UNOFFICIAL-lbhuashan, its really good works fine, and i felt its much faster than stock rom and the nightly. Well after installing this my recovery got updated to 6.0.5.1 and PhilZ Touch 6.59.0(CWM 6.0.5.1 - PhilZ Touch 6.59.0).
But the issue came up is, i can't see my Internal SD Card, if im inserting external SD Card, its getting mounted into SDCard0.
It was like SDCard0 as internal memory and SDCard1 as External memory.
Is there anyway to mount the Internal SDCard as SDCard0 like it was before?
I dont want to change the rom because its really working fine for me.
I dont have any issue to format again if that will get worked, but i couldn't see its working..

This is not a bug its a feature to enable USB mode for PC connections. The space from internal SD has been merged into data partition.

Oh is it so?!! Its ok but some app files are getting installed to EXT SD Card, like com.android.browser, com.andrew.apollo etc.
Isn't it possible to move to the Internal SDCard itlself? May i know the benefit of merging this internal memory to data partition.
I felt like its using 8GB for the rom and apks etc and still using the external card too.
First i thought it might be used for swap area or zram, so i installed this rom by removing the external card but still..!!
Is there anyway to move the android, baidu, data etc folder to the internal memory??

No because internal memory doesnt exist. Data partition is for app installs the folders you are referring to arent the apps themselves just user files that get created on install. It actually works well for me so far so i dont mind the change but i can understand why others wouldnt.
Try MrSteves final CM11 weeklies release as this has normal file structure.
now using cm12.1 happily
Sent from my Xperia SP using XDA Free mobile app
hi you can also use mateoo cm11 lbl. it is smooth too and the battery is great!
