SIM tool kit missing!!! - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Hi,
as the header says i can't find my SIM tool kit on my Xperia V after installing a custom ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2500671 to be noted that this ROm doesnt have Stk app which helps me to get multimedia settings via SIM option. At the same time i cant see any text when im trying to browse SIM shortcuts as for example *121*1*7#....I tried to fix the SIM tool kit unavailability by following another topic but everytime i put the Stk.apk in system folder change permission and reboot the system i still can't see the tool kit. Any support is welcome and sorry if you find it noobish post.

XDA Mini S ROM update

Hi
Am newbie to the whole XDA thing (am just converting from BB), have managed to unlock my XDA Mini S and tried running K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020721_ship.exe as i heard this would reflash the ROM to the latest (a friend of mine gave me this copy).
Got an error during this, and wondered if there was a specific XDA Mini S version (have searched on the site and it appears that there is on ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard) and there are many different ROMS under the ROM directory, but i am unable to login to this site.
Am i just being thick here.
Any help gretaly appreciated.
That ROM upgrade worked ok on my xda-mini-s
When I upgraded my ROM I done the following.....
#unlock phone
with no SIM card in phone
copy EnableRapi.cab to phone
run EnableRapi.cab from phone
run lokiwiz.bat from PC
select option 'U' Unlock SIM
phone reboots
add SIM to backout bin file names on PC
run lokiwiz.bat from PC
select option 'C' unlock CID
phone reboots
add CID to backout bin file names on PC
#install new ROM
uncomress ROM file from zip
click ROM install file
follow instruction
takes 10 minutes
phone reboots
Hope this helps
Bilbo,
Hi. I ran through what you put but my Mini S does not auto reboot. I'm not sure the exact definition of a soft reboot is? - Put the stylus in the side or hold the power button for a few seconds?
Either way I cannot get the new KJAM rom on as invalid vendor ID is haunting me.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You
Ben
Dudes - I've done the same upgrade to my mini S. Not sure if it's worth the bother. No difference in speed/performance and my keyboard shifted symbols (@?£$) are out of sync. I think I'll go back to the Mini S rom without the customised stuff.
LLcoolJ:
I noticed lots of difference, speed and battery life.
To get the keyboard from US to UK symbols use the following:
Here are the registry changes ....
Keyboard language
Registry: HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd
Key: Locale (string)
Value: 0809 English UK
0409 English US
0407 German
0419 Russian
040C French
0410 Italian
040A Spanish

The invalid vendor ID is the result of the ROM update..... to get rid of it make sure you run :
run lokiwiz.bat from PC
select option 'U' Unlock SIM
phone reboots
add SIM to backout bin file names on PC
A soft reboot is when you hit the reset button on the right hand side, its like rebooting a PC. A hard reset however is a re-install boot where you loose everything and the ROM is re-installed.
Cheers Bilbo - I've made the changes to the registry and the keyboard talks like me. Your right about battery power as well.
Bilbo.
Thank you for replying and helping.
Let me just go over what you said...
first I ran the loki cab file on the mini S.
run lokiwiz.bat from PC -- done.
select option 'U' Unlock SIM -- done (with sim card removed)
phone reboots -- not automatically though, but I will reboot it after the lokiwiz.bat finishes
add SIM to backout bin file names on PC -- what does this mean? this is not in the lokiwiz instructions and this is where i'm going wrong. Where is the bin file created btw, I can never find it?
I have tried so many combinations i'm starting to lose hope.
If you can help to get this damn thing working I promise to make a donation to this web site.
Thanks for all the good work.
Ben
i managed to get the unlock, but did not do the CID (so will try that).
So once i have done that will the K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020721_ship.exe upgrade work?
Here's how I got mine working. - Remove the Sim card. Make sure you use Lockwiz02b. Select U to unlock from the options menu. The mini S should reboot automatically. Leave the device alone until its functional again and then start Lockwiz02b again. Select C (CID unlock) from the menu. It should reboot again and close down the Lockwiz box. The mini S should now be ready for a rom upgrade. On my first attempt I used the original Lockwiz prog which caused problems for me.
I'm about to do my rom update on my mini s....but this thread is so confusing!
Is there a step by step guide somewhere on the forum???
ROM Upgrade
Upgraded O2 XDA mini without any real problems:
I used the aWizard 1.3 Beta 2 tool which allowed me to carry out the CID Unlock and was pretty easy to understand. What it did not do was pick up the ROM from the rom folder but once I had completed the CID unlock I ran the rom normally and all was well.
So in essence: Connect Mini to PC via Activesync
Run the aWizard Bat file enabling RAPI (This is used to communicate with your XDA once it has done using Activesync). Then select the Unlock CID option. Once completed I then exited the wizard and followed the instructions as part of the rom upgrade and all worked well no hitches except the one mentioned above about the keyboard (now I have to find out how to modify the registry).
So what I used: aWizard 1.3 Beta 2 and QTEK Rom 2.17
186504-ruu_9100_2170702_21707102_20710_qtek_wwe_ship.exe
Mystery Solved!!!!
I finally figured out why its not working....
When I downloaded the loki zip file I opened it up in winzip and dragged the contents to a folder I created. Ran the batch file eveything seemed ok and the unlocker said it unlocked the device.
I have now realised that you have extract the files from the loki zip file and use the folder structure. If you don't, the utils directory is not created and the loki.bat cannot reference some files.
Found the answer on page 12/13 of the loki thread.
Thanks All
Ben
After doing the CID unlock the ROM install worked fine.
Just having the keyboard issue at the moment with symbols, went to:
Registry: HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd
Key: Locale (string)
Value: 0809 English UK
but could not find the locale key to set to UK?
All i see is:
DefaultKeyLock
InitialDelay
MuteSwitch
RepeatRate
ShowWarningMsg
Am i looking in the right place or do i have to add this in (if so how)?
Cheers
Youv'e got to create a new registry key. Assuming you've got a registry editor. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Control Panel / Keybd.
Then create a new string value. Name it Locale and give it a value of 0809 for UK. Then reboot.
Just went in a created the new reg key as you mentioned.
Rebooted and it worked.
Many thanks for all your help on this, it is most appreciated.
I am now the converted!!!
So to sum up for anybody else:
Bought XDA Mini S from 02
use Lockwiz02b
Select U to unlock from the options menu
The mini S should reboot automatically
Start Lockwiz02b again
Select C (CID unlock) from the menu
It should reboot again and close down the Lockwiz box
The mini S should now be ready for a rom upgrade.
Then run
K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020721_ship.exe
follow usual prompts.
Once phone is up and running, get a reg edit tool (i used PHMregedit) as the keyboard for a couple of the symbols is out of synch (think it is US style).
Using regedit tool
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Control Panel / Keybd
Then create a new string value
Name it Locale and give it a value of 0809 for UK
Then reboot.
Mini XDA should now work fine.
I have found that the new push technology for email is faster than Blackberry and more usueful.
Hope this is helpful to others.
Cheers great forum
quick question...
i am fed up with waiting for o2 to release their latest ROM so i am going to take the plunge with this ROM instead, my question is do i have to make any special changes once installed to make it work with O2 UK i.e. mms settings, GPRS settings etc.?
Also i noticed somebody has put together a T-Mobile USA customised ROM any chance that somebody will do this for O2 UK?

The Problem im having here is that once i have created the registry key, it deletes after a reboot. Is there something else i need to unlock to allow writing to the registry?
New Roms
Hi there - I'm sure this is your answer - I have read this on many forums.
WM05 takes a while to store the registry updates after you exit your editor. Make the registry change and wait a minute or so before performing the soft reset.
Hope this helps - we have all fell for this "improvement" to WM5 from the boys at MS.
Regards,
Chris.

Thanks Bilbo . . . Spot on. First time to all this and followed it a treat

SPV m1500!

Hello all...This may be my first post but i have beed watching the forum for quite a long time! You are doing a great work around here!
I need a big favor from anyone that can help!Does anyone have the original SPV m1500 rom provided by orange and can upload it somewhere for me to download?Or can anyone back up his ROM from a m1500 and upload it somewhere?
And i have question as well and i would be grateful if you could answer this one!
If you haven't CID unlocked your phone and somehow managed to upgrade the ROM with a different make's one (i have one from Qtek 2020i at the moment) will it be blocked by the network or is a matter that the person that i bought it from (over ebay) reported it as lost/stolen?Currently everything works fine apart from the phone bit!It says no service and can't detect any network!(it just says ''unable to read setting from the network.Try viewing settings later or disconnect data connection and try again'').
Any help would be greatly appreciated
sorry double post!server had problems!can a moderator please delete one of them/?
Any help pls!??
Hi,
SPV M1500 same as O2 Xda IIi / Dopod 699 / i-Mate PDA2 / Qtek 2020i and known as HTC Alpine. You can upgrade using any ROM that build for HTC Alpine.
Please check at here about all in one sim unlock tool by itsme
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=240784
Thanks
Thanx clustered for the reply!
I have already used that thread to upgrade my firmware but i am just asking if i anyone has the original SPV m1500 orange rom available?
The thing is i have done the upgrade without CID unlocking the phone!Everything went ok but the only problem is that now the phone in the signal bar has an exclamation mark and says no service! So i was just wondering if it is the upgrade that ''blocked'' the phone bit of the M1500 or is it something else!
Thanks again
after a lot of search i found in a forum someone stating that :
''RIM check the ROM version and RADIO version before they allow you to connect to the relay. If it's not an approved mix, your device IMEI will be BARRED from the relay.''
is that possible and do you think that's why my phone gives the no service message?
Could anyone suggest any solutions to this?
anyone can help??

THIS IS THE SIM UNLOCKING FOR HTC PH10D:
follow these steps carefully:
Find and download xdadev all unlock.
if you don't find it ,send me an email to [email protected] and I will send it to you.
-Take the SIM card out of your pocket pc and reboot the phone with no sim card, and no memory card.
-Unzip the file on your HTC Alpine and put the file in My Documents or in Storage ,in the pocket pc.
-Run the application.
the application should disply ,UNLOCK SUCCESSFULL and write details of it in a textfile called xdadevunlock.dll
and place it in My Documents.
-Replace the SIM card ,or put a different SIM card into the phone.
-When prompted for unlocking code input 00000000.
-That's it! ...It worked perfectly on my HTC Alpine ,the so called SPV M1500.
-Do NOT run the application again if the phone has succesfully been unlocked!!!!--there myght be bad things;;just check using a different SIM card,or
even two.and then delete it forever.
-Many thanks to the creators of this program!
In the second part I would like to say to people using Windows MOBILE deviceCENTER in VISTA that in bootloader ,neither VISTA neither this Windows Mobile Device Center does Not detect the phone through the USB cable... but only after a REBOOT . Interesting when the screen says '' tap the screen to begin setup your device'' ,if you don't press anything but just plug the USB, the mobile device center detect the phone and you can see the original Windows files in a folder called ''extended ROM'' into the phone.....
...BUT you cannot copy ,add or delete anything...
Does anyone know how to do to be able to add ,delete ,or copy these files???

NAV-U50 how to restore the OS

Hello,
i have accidentally deleted the wrong folder on my GPS and now i can not boot it anymore.
hardware details:
Sony NV-U50
without SD card slot.
what i have done
originally this device has the sony nav-u navigation software installed running on windows CE....
i have found here in the forum and other forums some posts on how connect the device to my pc and get the igo8 running on it.
so after doing all the procedure i got igo8.3 to run on that device.
but i had to manually start it via total commander.
so i have deleted the contend from the nav-u folder and replaced it with the igo folder contend... and now the device does not boot anymore :-(
after the sony splash screen i get a picture with "INSTALL" text.
before i did all this i have done a backup from the folder but now is the question how do i get it back on the device? i can not connect it back to my pc... it does not get to the sync mode anymore...
any advice would be helpful and would save me from buying a new device.
thank you very much.
also i have opened the device to search for a flash card or something....
i could not find any storage card :-(
http://www.google.com/search?client...store+the+OS&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
thanks for the answer
but the first 3 results are from me asking this question.
and i did not receive an answer.

[Q] No copy contacts from sim to phone option after updating to Froyo

Hi,
I'm a Samsung Galaxy S user in India and it came with 2.1(Eclair). If i wanted to copy a contact from SIM to Phone, i usually used to go to Contacts>specific contact>Menu and choose the option copy to phone or SIM visa versa whichever was applicable.
Now, i updated to Froyo recently and since then if i have a contact in phone and want to move it to sim card i do not get the same option at the same place. The workaround i have is to create a new contact with the same details again and copy it to SIM.
I'm missing the option badly - any help will be appreciated.
HI
Just download sim contact application from market .
You have option to move both vise-versa.

I Gave up (S-Off + SimLock) - Looking for an expert with Payment

Hello to you all
So after 1 week of flashing / reading posts / and fighting with my wife ....i gave up and this time is for good!!!
i cant find a solution Aldo i tried everything.
I am sure that if you are here for the last few days you Encountered 1 of my post.
So right now i'm in the point i am willing to pay a lot for an expert that willing to take me as a project and help me figure out what is wrong.
So this is the situation i'm in and what i need :
1. I got 1 week ago an Sprint HTC One with 4.2 firmware.
2. Because i'm an ex IOS user i just went and made an OTA update to 4.3 (My biggest mistake)
3. I found out that the device is SimLock and the guy i got the phone from can't unlock it in Sprint (i'm not from the US)
4. After a long search i found out that there's a tool and a way to remove the Simlock (HtcOMADM way)
5. I have tried to do it but i figure out that this tool will not work with 4.3 because they changed the HtcOMADM method or something , i even try to swap the files from 4.2 to 4.3 but it was no-go
6. So the next step for me was to downgrade to 4.2 to run the Simlock tool.
7. when i flashed 4.2 rom i found out that the touchscreen is not working - after i looked at some post i understood that this is a known issue.
8. I have looked for a solution and found the right firmware to flash to make the touchscreen work after downgrading but....
9. To flash the touchscreen firmware i need to be S-Off and i'm On Hboot 1.55
10. i have tried to use the Revone method but i found out that it is not working on 4.3 with hboot 4.3
So all of this is just for making the phone simlock remove so i can use the phone
As i said i'm Willing to pay for some help and for the time of an expert that can help me.
my email is : [email protected]
many thanks

As far as I know sprint never realease a 4.2 firmware so u might want to check the model via hboot. The answer is in number 5. When replacing how did u do it? The proper way besides a flash zip would be to load up a file explorer with root capability then going to the new file and deleteing it and then pasting the new file and also giving it the same permissions as the adjacent file. After all that all u need to do is reboot and rety the SIM unlock. For unlocking I recommend using vipers SIM unlock tool

No need to downgrade your system(if you can't get the screen to work just flash a Sense 4.3 ROM like OMJ's)
I made this even easier for you, I'm attaching HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk from a 4.1.2 ROM. Just use some app like root explorer and remove the one you have in /system/app and replace it with this one. Set the permissions to rw-r-r and reboot. Than install the Sprint HTC One SIM unlock helper and follow the instructions.

Hello
How are you?
Again I can only say thanks for your help.
So:
Before I'm telling you the process I did I need to ask something important , before I press "Run" in the "Sprint HtcOne simlock" application , do I need to insert the Sprint Sim Card inside the phone? Because all week when I tried to run the application there's no sim inside the phone.
And now for the process I did :
1. I flashed the EclipticOne-4.3-v2 rom that I know it's a sense rom.
2. I installed "root browser" and "terminal Emulator" and ""root browser" and "Sim Unlock Helper" applications.
3. I deleted the "HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk" file from /System/app with "root browser" app.
4. I have copied the new "HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk" file you sent me to /System/app with "root browser" app.
5. I used "root browser" to give it permissions rw-r--r--
6. Reboot the phone.
7. Run the "Sim Unlock Helper" app and pressed "Run"
8. It got the root permission and nothing happens and no menu open up.
So I'm guessing something is wrong.

I followed these steps exactly and came up with the same problem. Even with the sim in. Help?
Why not just run the unlocker without the extra steps per vipers instructions?

It worked for me..great superb and thanks to elvisypi
This is what I did:
1) Unlocked the boot loader
2) Installed TWRP (2.6.3) for sprint latest as the old ones wont work.
3) Rooted , updated SU.
4) Took a backup of my stock Rom
5) Installed Elegenica Rom V18.0 as it supports sprint too
6) Installed Root explorer
7) granted permission under SU
8) copied the same file to system/app
9) Installed Android terminal emulator instead of sprint unlock helper
10) check the file as it sometime shows copied but do check the size.
11) open android emulator and entered:
>su
>am start com.redbend.vdmc/com.htc.omadm.test.TestMainActivity
on the first attempt it didnt open anything so tried copying the file again to system/app
2nd attempt it opened the API window, went to sim lock option clicked on it and then i shutdown the phone
Inserted the GSM SIM card , restarted the phone, it automatically took GSM/UTMS mode.
again to recheck you can use *#*#4636#*#*
and select WCDMA preferred.
All works fine with GPRS too.
Have fun

>am start com.redbend.vdmc/com.htc.omadm.test.TestMainActivity
on the first attempt it didnt open anything so tried copying the file again to system/app
Have fun
