Ok, but I don't see the problem, just update or install version 8. I think people have much worse problem than that. What you think?

I lost the music unlimited integration !
And wasn't one of the 4.3 benefit is that it gots the latest Sony apps ?
Tried installing 7.9 but fails
Dono about the problems so far I am loving it

Walkman app is integrated in OS so if you have root you first have uninstall it and install the new one. If you are not rooted you have to wait for an update from Update Center app, or try different version first. At the moment I don't see any other solutions.

4.2.2 would be a nice starting point, before anyone worries about 5.0

Sony should bring 5.0 to XZ, only if something goes wrong or hardware requirements would be too high, but I doubt they will cancel it
Well, i run smooth jellybean on my single core 600mhz 256mb ram X10Mini Sony usually release 3 big updates for flagships. XS started with GB and Sony stated that the update will be on late march. Back to my mini, it started with 1.6 Donut, got official update till 2.1 since its not flagship. We have 6 different Android version ROMs for mini, which means that since Mini wasnt cutting edge spec even at the first release, it handles 6 android version, XZ is a cutting edge phone, which i believe it may be able to handle 10 android versions with custom roms.

[Q] Do I need to update Android 4.3 before going to KitKat?

I've an HTC One (Unlocked version) and currently it's running on Android 4.2.2 (preloaded). Today I checked for software update and there's an update available; Jelly Bean 4.3 with Sense 5.5 but I'm curious why doesn't it shows up the latest KitKat update as HTC releases KitKat for HTC One globally recently. The question is do I need to update Android 4.3 before going to KitKat for my HTC One? Secondly, what are the major changes in 4.3 and latest KitKat update (incl. Sense 5.5), RAM Management, Battery life and other changes/effects on phone?

4.4 had huge battery improvements, 4.3 was more about bug fixes (if I recall correctly). But you should update to 4.3 to get the included firmware updates. After you do that, you can root and install a KitKat ROM if you want.

this depends on your CID to get 4.4 KitKat update
you can update to 4.3, after that maybe you'll receive 4.4 update
or you can manually get yourself KitKat ROM & you can enter the world of custom ROMs

Right now I'm in Russia (Moscow). Pakistan is my home town.
If you are willing to update via the "Official way", you should update to 4.3 and then maybe you will receive also 4.4 notification.
As OTA means Over The Air UPDATE, it relies up, that there is something, that it will update (same as with windows updates. you need windows installed prior to installing updates).
Ota doesn't contain complete system image, just instructions which file to replace / delete afaik

I've updated my HTC One to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with sense 5.5 but its not showing any further update (KitKat) for my device.
P.S. I'm in Russia (Moscow).
Then it's probably either not released for your CID & model combination or your phone is loaded with "custom" version from phone operator.
Try getting application CID GETTER from play store and post your results - top row.
Then your phone model number (written on back side).
Eventually you can discuss the issue in this topic

[Q] Back to 4.2.2 via pcc

So Im back to 4.2.2 (10.3.1.A.2.67) via flashtool. Now I want to restore my system via pcc. Do you know how? I can't see that option. Only opdate to 4.3. I don't want 4.3 because has many bugs.
you cannot do that. You should have backup up with titanium or something similar.

As i know there's no bug in 4.3 ...
If there is,it's just a small bug...
oh there is..for example:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/bug-internal-speaker-bug-101-t2682317
That was very annoying.
Anyway imo 4.2.2 works better. Everything works very good. I got root in easy way, black menu, camera works better.
I'm waiting for kitkat.

[Q] kitkat problems.

I recently updated my z1 (C6902) from 4.3 to 4.4 after updating it's ****ed up its giving me some problems first is sometimes the keyboard stopped working or sometimes the wallpaper and lock screen goes black and another problem is back button is not working properly.
Pls give solution I can't bear this things
We already know that KitKat is fabulous, you don't have to confirm that.
Do a Factory Reset, then let the Android alone for few days.
Oh ohk bro I'll try it.

Sony's 4.3 has always had lag when installing apps.
No way to fix it that I know of. Its a lot better in 4.4 custom roms though still occasionally get a lag when installing from play store but doesnt freeze the whole phone.

Same version number but thats all, Sony messed up 4.3 badly hence why we had so many versions of it (including their internal test versions).
