i know that the camera is not working. Phone goes into boot loop with ART. and like previous mods WIFI direct and magnetic sensor not working.
BUT is the WIFI connectivity and network DATA connectivity properly working? Which built did you tried?
and will my Clockworkmod recovery work after Flashing. in case i wish to switch back to 10.2?

My phone no boot loop even though changed runtime to ART. Wifi direct and magnetic sensor are not tested but I think it won't be working. WIFI is working well but sometimes the toggle have some problem when turning on and off. Mobile data is not working. The build version that I've tried is 1210. CWM recovery is working, but I don't think you can flash back to cm10.2 because I failed to flash it too (giving status 7 error), have to flash through odin.

I dont know why but ART gives me errors, some apps were force closing. I couldnt even change the runtime, i had to restore a previous backup.

flashed the zip, worked wonders.
Maybe I'm just "special" but I didn't know there was a way to rotate with multi-touch. I installed the latest nightly, flashed this file... now what do I do?
Thanks!
Any idea if this would work on MIUI?

It's in apps like google maps 5 which allow you to rotate the map using multitouch.
Sorry for the confusion.
Also, it might work for MIUI. There's nothing special about the fix.. it just adds permissions for the discrete multitouch interface.
works with nightly 174.
i flashed to miui, doesnt appear to have changed anything?
Thanks a lot for this. Works great.
That did it!
Thanks!

flawless with Stable 6.1 thank you
The 3d viewing multitouch doesnt seem to be working for me and i am running the most recent nightly build. Is there a special setting that needs to be activated or something i am missing?
Gosh dammit. I ran this from Nandroid Recovery. My phone boots all screwed up now with an endless wave of force closes of any and all apps. Can't use LauncherPro, only ADWLauncher. Son of a b____!

Yikes! I did stress to back up.. you never know what can happen.
Well I'm not sure what to say.. the update has worked fine on many phones (even a moto droid).. so I'm sure it works.
I don't know where the middle eastern song could have came from. The zip only contains an update-script and the fixed xml file.
If you guys can give me some more info, rom, updates, some possible causes.. maybe I can help you. I'm going to post the md5sum, so maybe you guys can double check that the file downloaded all the way. I'm not here to make malicious posts.. so something else must have happend..

It's my own fault for not creating a backup first. I thankfully did a full backup on 12-15 so I'm restoring that now (after doing a full wipe).
I'm running CM 6.1 stable, Invisiblek #17 AOSP kernel. I don't think you're creating a malicious post. Who knows where the problem lies. It could have been anything and just triggered with the fix you posted. I'll let you know how it goes after the restore.

I was running 6.1 stable. After flashing over with the 184 nightly, rotate didn't work for me either. Restored back to 6.1 and applied this fix, and now it's working fine.
I've flashed over many nightlies with no issues, always assuming all of the fixes were in place. Do the changes in the nighties only completely apply with a full wipe? Do some of them not apply with a flash over? Actually in this case it appears they don't. That is concerning...

The updates do apply on a flash over. The merge wasn't synced with the buildbot yet.. so probably won't work until 185

[Q] Phone reboot upon starting Google Maps

I play around with my phone, testing roms, kernels and tweaks until google maps stop working on my phone. the last time it work was when i'm using Maclaw's CM11.
I decided to return to stock rom and recovery using odin and thats when the problem started. I followed the steps from here.
The phone reboot each time I start Google Maps. I tried going back to CM11 but the phone reboot each time I start Camera (previously it was working fine). (I may hare to try CM11 again to see if Google Maps working in CM11)
Then I try to revert back to Original Stock Rom With Kies following the steps here but the problem persist.
Any idea to solve this problem?

Do a real format data + media in recovery.
After that, try again flashing .

Hi,
Is real format data + media in recovery means wipe data/factory reset in recovery? I believe i did that before flashing stock rom using stock recovery.
I had an idea just now and I try several apps from play store, compass apps and any apps that uses compass and each apps reboot my phone upon starting. Logically Google Maps also use compass. So this might be the problem but strangely i could use Waze with no problem at all.
If compass related app is the problem, how do i fix this?
Thank you

Hi
real format isn't the same as wipe data/factory reset.
Real format = In recovery go to mounts and storage --> format real data and media
Strange that the compass isn't working. Try to uninstall non standaard compass apps from your Phone. And try google maps again.
Install app one by one, and see what app is causing the problem.
If not, it's recommend to do a full clean install again at your Phone.

Hi
I thought that GPS wasnt working on any app
Dead GPS = if you dont get a lock anymore and the phone isnt searching for signals.
Maybe you can try GPS locks software.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2
This will help your GPS to update the location off the sateliets.
When app opened. Use the icon in the right below corner.
Tools --->> calibrate both option.
If its taking to long , use the third option in tools and download
After that calibrate again

I'm currently using stock rom with stock recovery. Flash it with odin with "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" options checked. Wipe data/factory reset. Wipe Dalvik. Device Status: Official.
I read about /boot partition. It says:
/boot
This is the partition that enables the phone to boot, as the name suggests. It includes the kernel and the ramdisk. Without this partition, the device will simply not be able to boot. Wiping this partition from recovery should only be done if absolutely required and once done, the device must NOT be rebooted before installing a new one, which can be done by installing a ROM that includes a /boot partition.
Since my problem related to kernel panic, I assume there are problem with kernel. Is it possible to format /boot from cwm recovery and then flash custom rom such as Carbon or CM from external SD or maybe internal SD? Is CM rom includes a /boot partition?
I tried many things today including flashing stock, custom rom, format, wipe and reset. Then I had this idea to check sensors available. I use Phone Tester (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mtorres.phonetester&hl=en) and Android Sensor Box (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=imoblife.androidsensorbox&hl=en)
I also test *#0*# in the dialer. Select sensor, phone reboot.
The result are as follow:
1. GPS is working fine as per screenshot of Phone Tester
2. Orientation Sensor and Magnetic Sensor reboot the phone every time I click to test them.
Is there any fix or ways to disable these sensors? Please help
Thank you

the problem is at your proximity sensor i think. Because the orientation & magnetic sensor keeps the Phone booting.
What cover case have you on your Phone? The Original? or a flip back cover?
Sometimes it could be a bad cover that blocks the sensors and keeping it crashing.
If you have a flip back cover. just try the sensors without it.

You can do a boot partition format . But keep your Rom and recovery ready on your external sd card, when something go wrong.
If you have formatted boot, install recovery and rom. After that Reboot.
But the problem isn't the boot partition.
i think your sensors are faulty at your Phone.
Try to install stock rom on your Phone and go to the store with it.
Because it's not custom rom/ kernel / recovery related anymore.
Because the stock rom have the same issues right?

[Q] Simcard pin lost on CM11

Hi,
I have a problem wit the CM11 nighly builds. Since the Kernel was updated (begin of Feb.) I must insert my PIN number of the simcard more than one times a day.
Often I must insert my pin 2-4 times at one day.
I have also clean the caches, but the problem is still there.
Also the usage of the idoak Kernel does not fix this Problem.
Have someone the same trouble. How can I fix this problem?
I'm quite sure you didn't flash the ROM in a proper clean way.
I think it's ROM related and not kernel related. Try a full wipe with cache cleaning as well as formatting system under mounts and storage in cwm.
Then flash your ROM + Gapps and maybe your kernel.
Backup your current ROM just to be sure, you can restore /data after clean install with advanced restore to get your apps etc back.
Sent from my LG-P880 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I had the same issue. I resolved it with newer nightly and clean install.
Cheers
Ur loosing connection to network, probably due to ril problems. Check my sig for possible solution
I have done yesterday the following.
1. Backup current ROM
1. Clean /system
2. Clean Dalvik
3. Clean cache
4. Wipe All
5. Install CM11 Nighly
6. Reboot (phone comes up)
7. restore /data from backup
But now before 30 Minutes I must insert my Pin number again.
It seems that the problem came when the phone wakeup from deep sleep.
It might also be caused by a faulty or not properly inserted Sim card.
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
Yes maybe, but I have this problem not before update.
I have also fixed the sim card with a tape in my phone.
Problem still there
Hi,
the problem is still there.
I have now make a complete clean installation with cleaning of /system too.
But sometimes I must insert the PIN again.
Currently I have installed the nightly build 11-20140308-NIGHTLY-p880 with the default kernel.
I have enabled debugging and logged the reason. The log file is attached in this post.
Can anyone please look at the logfile.
For me it looks like that the phone disables or lost the radio.
I hope you can now help me.
Works with another ROM
I have installed last saturday the ROM NAMELESS and the SIM problem is not there, all works fine.
So there must be a problem in the orginal CyanogenMod 11 version.
I think the developers from the CM11 should search the problem.
By the way, the NAMELESS ROM has much better battery usage.

Although your problem seems to be solved, I wanted to be sure that the hint from Flying_Bear was understood.
What is important in @Flying_Bear signature is not the process of flashing, but his method of patching the RIL, which is described here http://direct.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46751745 .
I tried it, and believe it makes a huge difference.
Did you try that?

No, I did not try that, because I won't change this every time I install a new nightly. I think this is so, is it?
I see, that the RIL in other ROMs like Nameless ROM work, why did the CM developers not change it?

Yes, that is understandable, When I had that problem I considered the opportunity of tweaking the RIL every time I updated a Rom, then since many, many nightlies and with iodak 9.95 kernel I did not see baseband wakeock appearing again, so I almost forgotten the matter.
Though I believe that it is not necessary to replicate the process described by Flying_Bear from the beginning to the end. All you have to do is getting a modified "telephony-common.jar" then, after each upgrade, copy that file into /system/framework, give it the correct permissions/owners and reboot.
Mind that I did not try this method, and don't know if it makes sense at all, maybe @Flying_Bear can give us a confirmation. If it worked, it would be no much hassle.
Inviato dal mio GT-P3110 utilizzando Tapatalk
Unfortunately, telephony-common.jar is usually incompatible from nightly to nightly (usually). With practice, the process takes only a few mins. Try upgrading weekly instead of nightly
I have now tested the RIL changes from @Flying_Bear for two days.
It works and I must not insert my SIM-Card pin again.
I see in official CM thread that some people have currently also RIL problems. Did the CM developer know about this problems?

not sure if they know there are specific problems, but the solution was presented to them back for cm10, and arcee rejected it due to many mentions of eternityproject inside the code itself (which normal users don't care about, as they care about stable RIL, and don't care who contributed)

Black screen
Hey, first thanks for your hard work.
I have a problem with installing this rom. I use actually Amcha ffor 4.3 JB. So i have new bootloader, this is obviously I made full wipe, data, system, internal card and intall amcha KK. When i restarted from recovery only what could i see was logo and then black screen. I had TWRP recovery but I install CM philz too, and doesn't help. I hope you'll help and try to fix it.
Thanks.
Regards!
thanks kenar2&all devs for awesome rom,
i'am on amcha kk 1.0 with hbohd 2.0a kernel (26 194 antutu), added later, old bootloader;
my biggest problem is when I attach phone via usb to computer (Linux/windows) phone screen freezes, I can't do anything than a hard reboot; happened randomly, many times.
Also, though generally is smooth, I can see strange display drawing glitches, I don't now maybe that is supposed to work in kitkat window transitions, but to me seems more as a lag;
The third problem is linked to particular application: sprite backup - doesn't see any more external SD card, only internal card.
Battery is ok, but boeffla was even better;
What about new base - XXUFNJ1 ?

Yes, I also have this issue with 0.2 and 0.2a HboKernel and I've reported to HboKernel dev thread with logs attached. I had to go back to HboKernel 0.1 which doesn't have this issue.

To fix this, you should use the "KitKat External SD Card Patch" then reboot your phone.

Actually I used that app before, tried now one more time, restarted, no luck ... maybe should I format card?
By the way, thanks for the rom contribs!

No I don't think you should format your card. Maybe your Sprite app has a compatibility issue with KitKat about external sd.
I also have this kind of problem with Backup&Restore app. Even with the patch app I mentioned, I can't read and write on external sd card with this app.
Thank you for this great rom
Hi xda, I've been a fan of this site since I've got my SII I9100 and this site really thought me a lot about my smartphone. When I got my SIII I9305, I've been following kenar2's work with Amcha ROMs so I personally thank him for sharing his work even though I've heard that he is not using SIII anymore. Thanks again to all the devs here.
I successfully installed this rom but I have problem with root. I'm on new bootloader and trying what's been suggested. I'll give feedback after. Thanks again for this great rom.

Android Moonshine
hi, In the next update, Can you include icons android 5.0 and the S5 Ultra Power Saving Mode with UPSM Manager? The playstore icon has already been updated by google, thanks. The rom is the best and your work is amazing!!!
Now I am on Amcha KK 1.20 after dirty flash from TGP (with 4.3). Is there no email app included in the rom?

You can choose gmail and/or SecEmail in AROMA installer. Didn't you see that ?
I saw gmail, but I didn't notice SecEmail. Obviously I was blind... thank you!

Do you have old bootloader from Android 4.1.2 ?
It's because offline charging doesn't work with old bootloader + custom kernel (HboKernel or AGNi). It's a kernel issue. It has to be fix but it seems hard to do...
EDIT : if you want to charge "offline", a workaround is to press home + vol UP while you plug the phone to enter recovery. Then you can let the phone charge in recovery during a few minutes and finally you can power ON your phone.
Gaming problem
the issue of the rom is all games are not working even dead trigger 2 it stack at charging while in stock 444 games are very good
I want to set up a vpn connection. Therefore it is neccessary to choose a PIN or a password for the lock screen.
In Android 4.3 a pattern was possible, too. Is this a bug in Amcha or a feature of KK?
How can I choose a pattern or even disable the lock if vpn is set up?
AMCHA 1.3
Hi,
With the new version of this ROM, I have an issue with the phone apk. When I receive a phone call, there is a voice guidance which says the number and the identity of the caller, which cuts the ringtone.
I have checked, talback is not activated. It's with S5 phone apk.
I'm coming from AMCHA 1.2 ... S5 phone apk was not previously installed.
What can it be ?
Thank's.

[desperately need help]Camera keep FC/ cannot be detected

Hi all, i am having a big trouble about the camera.
So i was using the official CM12, but since recently the camera keep FC or it kept saying can't connect to camera,
i decided to change to the other ROM. However, when i changed to Titan Prime 1.1, i can open the camera ONCE. After that same issue happen!!
it is not only the camera, also the screenshot function is not working! It kept saying due to limited storage the screenshot couldn't be taken
So i tried the following methods:
1. Force stop camera app, clean cache+data, reboot => didn't work
2. Install the CameraFiles-Signed.zip => didn't work
3. Wipe the system, data, cache and davik cache and install different versions of CM or Titan Prime 1.1 =>didn't work
Does anyone has the problem or know how to solve this??
Thanks!

Thanks for the help!
I tried the first method and it didn't work. And i used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...dows-tool-moto-g-2014-xt1064-restore-t2957167 method to restore to Stock.
But both method doesn't work still. When i open camera on stock rom, it said camera is busy. If this repeat please power off and restart your phone,
but the screenshot is now functioning.
I tried to flash just the Titan Prime 1.1 rom without PA Gapps, camera worked once. But after i install the gapps camera fc again.
Again i tried to restore to stock ROM, problem keeps occur. Then even i flash the Titan Prime again without gapps,
camera fc again !
It appears to be crashed with gapps and i don't know what to do next....

power off, and remove yours sd card.
power on and give a try.
if no good factory reset without the sd card and give a try.
you may have something in the sd causing it.

Don't know was guess...
But i remember now, that my camera not the phone camera a digital camera that i have do that some times to some SD cards, probably from that i guess it.
Good that works. Try to format the card or use other to see if the problem is 100% resolved. Maybe a file in the SD is causing it, so be careful to what files you put back in the card.

It was the DCIM folder from older version of the rom caused it. I moved that folder to my pc and problem resolved.
I think the path just messed up. Thanks for the help anyway. I tried to fix it for two days!

Hi guys i need help again. After a few week, without flashing any new roms, the problem pops out again.
Could it be problem about the path of camera? It is no longer in system/app
And if so how should i move it?
I searched for a long time and people said it could be permission problem.
I tried to use TWRP to fix ( which ends up in bootloop even with busybox),
and i try to clean wipe and install rom,
or even restore to stock rom, it still doesn't work.
Anyone can help.....?
the camera error
Hi guys so i tried to capture the error.
It said something about getting nullpointer, anyone know how to fix this?
I switched to CM12 rom, it has camera2. apk in system/app.
But it seems that the system still can't find the camera!
