Hello, recently I rooted my device and I'm new at all this... so I flashed a ROM, google play edition 4.4 android version... So automatically software update to 4.4.2 has been downloaded. May I update (OTA) ? Or if I shouldn't, how can I make that possible? I'd like to have a stock htc One... I flashed this one: bigxie_m7_GPe_KRT16S_odexed-signed.zip . Thank you for your feedback!
No you shouldn't do OTA for that ROM. Pretty sure you can swipe it away and ignore it. It's only appearing on the notification area or is it a popup?

I think they maybe updating again the apps.. because I have Uninstall on the First Phone the HTC Connect and Now I can't install back...
Yesterday I got some updates for my HTC apps that I had installed. Attentive Phone was one of them, and the update run smoothly. Since the update, it moved to the settings area.
I got an error updating Sound Enhancer, and I tried to uninstall it first to see if it works this way. Unfortunately, after I uninstalled it, I cant reinstall it because it says "This app is not available for your device"
I am running the HTC leaked Mango ROM, and all other mango apps updated just fine.
I never could install the HTC DLNA app.
same problems here with connected media and sound enhacer.....
Mine's even crazier. Yesterday I got updates for all htc apps, updates went fine except sound enhancer. Which apparently they stopped from trying to update. Now I have attentive phone twice in my settings page. And I have no way of uninstalling any or one of the versions.
Windows has just released the mango SDK so hopefully the apps will be updated soon.

If by "Windows", you mean Microsoft, they released the SDK a couple of months ago when they released the 7712 build of Mango. Developers were supposed to have their apps updated by now, and many have. Unfortunately, HTC seems to be doing some weird stuff with some of their apps. I can't even get Compass to install right now, the message just says it isn't available for my device (that's funny, it worked a couple of days ago on the leaked 7720).
The updated apps are coming...remember, most of us forced the update, I got 11 app updates today even though I installed Mango yesterday .
Hi All
Just to let you know there are differences between the leaked offical ROMS that have been around for a while and the Mango update from HTC through Zune.
I had the leaked rom and Bing audio search did not work but the HTC compass and sound enhancer worked and attentive phone was a seperate app.
I smelt a rat and reverted to NODO and installed Mango through Zune, Compass and sound enhancer had to be removed because they would not update (once removed message says they are not available for my device) and attentive phone now integrates into settings and Bing audio search works!
I have a post in the HD7 Q & A section from acouple of days ago and all of the version numbers are exactly the same with the leaded ROM and the update through Zune!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1274651
I had Attentive Phone before the Mango update; even had it just after it.
Today when I logged on to HTC Marketplace, it said there was an update available for Attentive Phone so I updated it. Now, it is no where to be found! If I go to Marketplace, it says the app is already there in my Collection.
Can access Sound Enhancer though.
Bugs already?!

Attentive Phone
with the mango update the attentive phone application is now part of your system go to settings - scrool down and youl find it
Both my wife and I have HD7's on O2 with leaked RTM and she got the HTC firmware update pushed through to her. Since that all the HTC apps work, DLNA etc. On mine, they dont, it says the app is not for this device.
So it seems to be a firmware issue.
Running 5.6.0 Trickdroid ROM for my Sprint HTC One
All is well, very smooth and plenty of useful features to use over stock 1.29 version.. One minor annoyance:
When I launch messages and attempt to get into the notifications within the settings menu it comes up with a message "Unfortunately, Messages has stopped" Which leaves me with no choice then to use the default ringtone it has because I cannot access that particular menu and change it to anything else.
Now here's my question:
Is there an alternate way or method of changing the text message ringtone outside of the messages menu itself? I have already attempted to clear cache and data, as well as defaults. Options?

You can use the Settings --->Sound--->Notifications option. This will make whatever you set your default for all notifications including text messages.
That didn't work, my default ringtone is still that offensively loud "lime" sound. I think that used to work on the older Androids, but not this one. Maybe there is a way to fix the error? Or maybe a download of the stock "messages" app so I can replace it?

In titanium back up wipe data for messages app. Then go back to the messages, you will have no problem changing the sound.

It might but considering all the AOSP-related bugs lately, I'd advise against flashing it at the moment. Unofficial ROM support + bad AOSP is...not a nice mix.

Trickdroid isn't an AOSP rom. It's a sense rom. In any case, latest version doesn't work for sprint. OP is probably running an older version prior to the rom jumping to 4.2. OP, were you able to fix FC?

Wow. Brain must have stopped working. XDA should have a setting that prevents you from posting in the morning. -_-
I recently updated my AT&T HTC One to the 4.3 DE ROM version. All is well with the ROM with one exception that I don't quite understand. The options to delete from a GMail Notification isn't showing up for some reason. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing? I know that this is working on my ASUS tablet with 4.2 installed and should be working on top of 4.3. Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Craig
Hi! First Sorry for my English, ill try to explain myself as best as I can.
I have my phone carrier locked, with Orange Spain, and the didnt released 4.3 yet, so I updated my phone to it changing build.prop and via Sus.
Everything works well, I flashed Centroeuropean 1. But when I tried to install Social Camera apps, I saw that only few were available. Not infoeye nor Defocus.
But Motiongraph and motionshot yes.
So I sideloaded the apks, and they are working, but I have some questions:
Werent all the apps ported to our phones, so the must be availabe in Sony select?
If a update is launched for the sideloaded apks, I will get a notification on update center?
I know that the update center works well, because I alredy updated the album with the new rom, but I have a doubt with the sideloaded apks. (btw, when installed, they requested the "Use update center to check for updates" permission)
Thanks to all!
No need to worry about the checks and controls etc.
You need to go to settings > Security and check box for unknown sources.
After that you can check here for some camera apps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2646031
Not all of them tho. Most of them can be found in the Play Store
Cheers.

One last question please. My phone is carrier locked, I was only receiving my carrier's updates, and always late, because is Orange.
As I writed, now I installed European 1 stock rom 1272-3352. And I received a update for the album from the update center. This never happened before, because Orange never released an update for the phone, and they are already with the 4.1.2.
Does it mean that im going to receive future updates like a free bought phone? For example, if Sony releases 4.4 (I hope it) ill be able to update when they do the rollout for Europe, or I would stay until my carrier rolls?
Yes It will use the rom data you have installed

Hello,
After a painfull but succesfull adventure upgrading to kitkat 4.4.3 and installing ViperOne 2.4 I have this weird icon in mijn statusbar. Been going thru all the options but I cannot find where the icon comes from, what it does and how to get rid of it. Please see the attached screenshot. I marked the icon by pointing a big red arrow under it.
Any help explaining and getting rid of it (if even possible) would be much appreciated.
Background info (may be helpfull):
comming from stock 4.4.2 to 4.4.3 with OTA
reflashed TWRP and installed fresh ViperOne 2.4
in Aroma disabled some system apps (cannot remember wich ones exactly but nothing major and went for "as much stock" as a base)
Installed succesfully and grabbed Nova Launcher.
Not 100% sure if the icon was there before or after installing Nova, but could not find anything in Nova settings either so I assume it was there all the time.
Thanks in advance for any help!
(and appologies if this is a dumb question; searched the forums but did not find any threads concerning this question)
