Actions from notifications on 4.3? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently updated my AT&T HTC One to the 4.3 DE ROM version. All is well with the ROM with one exception that I don't quite understand. The options to delete from a GMail Notification isn't showing up for some reason. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing? I know that this is working on my ASUS tablet with 4.2 installed and should be working on top of 4.3. Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Craig

[Q] Android Revolution HD drawbacks

Hi guys,
I have a quick query. This week, I downloaded and flashed the Android Revolution HD Rom for my HTC One and also flashed the aroma mod to have the htc logo be used as an option button. After flashing the rom, I noticed that I could no longer add new gmail accounts to my mail app through the "accounts and sync" option in my settings. The option to add new accounts is just gone, and I am wondering if it has something to do with the fact that I've flashed a new rom. Does anyone know if Android Revolution HD has any drawbacks like it locks you in to using only the apps native to HTC or something like that? I really don't know what the problem is or if this has been an issue that was there since before I flashed the rom and only noticed today. If anyone else has had this issue and resolved it, could you reply and write what you did to solve it? I am also open to suggestions, so please suggest as much as possible. Thanks every one.

Did you do a full wipe when you installed? Also, what recovery are you using?
To answer your question, No there is no sort of "limitation" on any apps at all. You can use whatever apps you please

The issue you have is not due to ARHD and there are no limitations at all (other than Android base compatability as with all roms) on the apps you can install. I suggest you reflash selecting wipe in the installer and see if this fixes your prob but don't use the HTC logo mod just in cas this is the cause.
Good idea but the issue was much simpler

So the solution was very similar to this one. First I kept messing around in the settings window and after tapping on the + in the upper right and then tapping everywhere, I was finally able to find out that to add a new account to my gmail I just had to tap on the google logo after tapping on the + in the upper right. Another thing that helped a lot was clearing the data for the gmail app. Thank you for your response @rider5512 :good:

No notifications on Sprint S4 on 4.3 Please Help

I couldn't wait to get my hands on a 4.3 S4 rom so I could have fully functioning Galaxy Gear. I am currently running Sacs 4.3 v3. I am currently not receiving any notifications. I have read and searched many threads and forums. I have lock screen on so that is not an issue. I have all the notifications turned on under settings in Gear manager. I have factory reset my Gear multiple times. I have completely uninstalled gear manager and reinstalled. None of the changes have done anything for me and I am frankly getting irritated. On Sac v8 4.2 i was getting gmail and facebook alerts but even those are not functioning now. I was able to go into Samsung apps and download the latest version of Gear manager so at least the Samsung app store is recognizing 4.3. In short I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my Gear, the rom, or more than likely my self!!!!! The only thing I can think of is that one of the tweaks to the rom may have broken the passing of notifications to my Galaxy Gear. My next step Will be to install a stock rooted rom and see if that works, but haven't had the time and really really don't want to go with out Sacs Rom. Is there anything that needs to be left alone in a rom in-order to keep Gear function? Any help would be grateful.
Thanks.
I posted a message for sacs with this thread. Hopefully he will look into it.

Thanks.....I have been in contact with Sacs, he doesn't have a Gear for testing (wish I could just buy him one LOL), and I know he is so busy hate to bother him. I was hoping some one else that has a Gear and does rom development might be able to shed some light as to what may need to be added removed or left alone in order to have Gear compatibility in a rom. Again Im not even sure it is the rom. I will try to install stock this afternoon and see if that fixes things for me. This way I will know if it is the rom or something else.

Let me know if stock works. I too was waiting for 4.3. It was the only thing holding me back from buying it. I will wait to see.

I'm running Sacs 4.3 v3 on Sprint GS4, notifications work fine on my Gear. Have you tried complete wipe and reflashing 4.3? Just about to load v3.1, I'll let you know how that goes.

Okay I'm running Sac's 4.3 v3.1, with Gear Manager v1.4.102802 and Gear ROM ver. V700XXUAMII.
Tested these notifications and they work as expected:
-Incoming calls
-Missed call
-SMS
-Gmail
-Hangouts
Although I do disable these and use ATN Manager for the detailed Hangout and Gmail messages.

Great I will do a clean install and see what I can figure out......like I said I knew it was probably me. Does the weather work on yours?
Ok reinstalled sacs 4.3 v3 from scratch and installed samsung apps, then gear manager before restoring anything. Everything on the Gear works perfect.......so I deceided to test and see if it was the kernel. I installed KT's kernel and gear is still working. So in short I must be stupid because I am not sure what I did last time when I installed sacs 4.3. The only thing left to try is to reinstall my apps and see if that breaks the notifications. I will let you know how it goes.......Thanks for all your help.

[Q] HTC One 4.4.2 Update

Hello, recently I rooted my device and I'm new at all this... so I flashed a ROM, google play edition 4.4 android version... So automatically software update to 4.4.2 has been downloaded. May I update (OTA) ? Or if I shouldn't, how can I make that possible? I'd like to have a stock htc One... I flashed this one: bigxie_m7_GPe_KRT16S_odexed-signed.zip . Thank you for your feedback!
No you shouldn't do OTA for that ROM. Pretty sure you can swipe it away and ignore it. It's only appearing on the notification area or is it a popup?

[Q] What is this icon and how to get rid of it?

Hello,
After a painfull but succesfull adventure upgrading to kitkat 4.4.3 and installing ViperOne 2.4 I have this weird icon in mijn statusbar. Been going thru all the options but I cannot find where the icon comes from, what it does and how to get rid of it. Please see the attached screenshot. I marked the icon by pointing a big red arrow under it.
Any help explaining and getting rid of it (if even possible) would be much appreciated.
Background info (may be helpfull):
comming from stock 4.4.2 to 4.4.3 with OTA
reflashed TWRP and installed fresh ViperOne 2.4
in Aroma disabled some system apps (cannot remember wich ones exactly but nothing major and went for "as much stock" as a base)
Installed succesfully and grabbed Nova Launcher.
Not 100% sure if the icon was there before or after installing Nova, but could not find anything in Nova settings either so I assume it was there all the time.
Thanks in advance for any help!
(and appologies if this is a dumb question; searched the forums but did not find any threads concerning this question)

Latest update of Android System WebView makes stock mail client unable to reply email

Hi
After updating to the latest version of Android System WebView (48.0.2564.95) the HTC stock email klient stops when I try to reply an email.
If I uninstall the update the mail app works again.
I'm running Android Revolution HD 93.0 rom
Any suggestions?
I could skip the update, but I assume that it contains relevant changes.
Thanks
Am I really the only one who has this problem?
i got same issue
Same problem with the update 48.0.2564.99 from the 2016-01-29

Are you using AR-HD or stock rom?
Still not working with version 48.0.2564.106
Same here.
I´m using ARHD 91.1.
For testing i have installed ARHD 93.0. All good until i updated the Apps with PlayStore. Android System WebView ist gulity. I tested four or five 48.0.2564.x Builds. Nothing.
But 47.0.2526.99 (from here) works.
More Informations here
In any case HTC released an update to HTC mail that should solve this issue. It was rolled out this week
I have a htc one m7 with ARHD 92.0, but I cant get the update. As HTC have stopped support for it. Any Suggestions for people in this situation?
Where i can find the new Mail apk for the M7? On PlayStore i found nothing.
