I tried to install Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour on my droid 4 and when it downloads the "additional files" it says there's no room for it. I have plenty of space! What should I do?
Perhaps you could migrate it to your SD card? Are you trying to install it through the Play store or through the app?

I completed manual nooting and was restoring the apps from TI backup.
However, I wasn't able to restore Angry bird. I get "Unable to Install" error.
I could not install through the Amazon market either, it had same error.
All other apps are installing just fine all 3 flavors of angry birds won't install.
It isn't that crucial, but it would be good if I can get this working.
Thanks.

Potential fix for Angry Bird install after manual nooter
A lot of people are saying that you can't install angry birds with the SD card installed. This sounds like the problem that I had with my Droid X. To fix it I had to delete the file left from the prior install under .android secure on the SD card. I guess that Froyo sometimes has issues with this file getting corrupt on the micro SD and then it can't install correctly during updates and reinstalls. I think you lose all previous data but at least you have it working normally now with the SD card installed. I'll try it on my nook and post back. I would have put this in the manual nooter thread but I don't have enough posts to post there.
I formatted my sd card and it had no effect. I also tried several times with the card in and with it out and it still failed. What I ended up trying was using adb command line (adb install XXX/XXX.apk) and it worked perfectly. I now have Angry Birds 1.53 installed and working. I don't know why the app store can't install, but the command line method did work. Of course this will only work if you have adb setup on your computer correctly.
Note: I initially tried to do a copy and paste the apk to system/apps to install via astro file manager but the directory seems to be read only.
had the same issue - had to install it manually.. took my backed up copy and using adb
adb install "Angry Birds 1.5.2.apk"
not sure what the issue is... some people said it was the 4mb issue, but i was able to get some >4mb files installed no problem... hopefully one of the devs can figure out why.
Try to remove sd card, that was the only way I could install angry birds. I did pay for the one that B&N has. I have all installed now. Hope this helps.
The way I got them to install was to copy the apk file in the /data/app folder and then set permissions to rw-r--r-- then reboot
BN bug
To install angry birds, you need to get the apk on your nook and then install without an SD card in the slot. BN has acknowedged this is a problem in their FAQ. http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com...estions/m-p/979622/message-uid/979622#U979622
"Q4: When I try to install “Angry Birds”, I get an error. Help?
This issue is being investigated by our engineering team.
WORKAROUND: Please remove any microSD cards from your NOOK Color and try again. You can reinsert the card after installation has completed. "
This is how I got it to install:
1. go to settings, device info, unmount SD card
2. remove SD card
3. download the apk from my dropbox account and
4. install
The catch is that market requires an SD card to download

Hi,
Settings-application-manage-SD card.
Some apps, like Angry Birds and other games, are currently installed on your SD Card.

1.) i did try that but third blade cant still be installed. problem stays the same
2.) internal and external sd card were wiped out when i cleaned my phone about 3 weeks ago. ive successfully installed all 3 angry birds i just wait a few seconds and then it went ok but the still cant install thir blade.
is there any fix for this??
Latest market has a bug and it wont let you install big apps even if you have free space like Third Blade, to install Third Blade install an older market and it should work, then get back to the new market, its a known issues if you search around
Just figured it out too....seems to work.
I have plenty of storage, cleared the caches' and everything, but still didnt work.
Went into manage applications and then to market. I just uninstalled the update.
Opened the market again (the old one opened) and can download them no problem now....
If you can't revert back to v2.3.6 then try installing thru this post:

After that I needed to clear data for "Download Manager" and "Market" in Settings->Applications->Manage->All.
hello guys
I wannna to download a lot of gameloft games my SD 2gb it's not enough
So before I buy I new one I want to know is there any method to store gameloft games data on dropbox e.g. or any cloud such as google drive or no??
Just copy it from sdcard for backup. But during play you have to have it on sdcard. Also you can download sddata from web (warez pages mostly) and download on you computer instead of phone (if you paid for apk then it doesn't matter how you get the data).

I had installed asphalt6,ice age, shadow gun, dead space....all these games are in my device now....when i installed these games...it downloaded 500MB of data for each game....I would like to know where it is getting stored...phone memory or SD card..
and please do tell me this....if i install more apps, would that reduce note's performance...
BTW this is my first thread in XDA
no one know this???
Look in /sdcard/Android/data
com.gameloft.android.GAND.GloftA6HP for Asphalt 6
for the older versions of gameloft games, it saved the data in the root of sd in a foler named gameloft/games/
for the new games you can find it in the folder Android/data/
Hi,
I did the root on my HD+ 2.06, which worked great. Afterwards, I installed the Gapps and Extras zip, which worked, as I got Play Store. This is the thread I followed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2062613
The problem I have is that other Gapps didn't install. I don't have Maps and Youtube doesn't work. Youtube asks for Google Play Services. I can't install them as the Play Store keeps saying it's incompatible.
I'm probably doing something really stupid, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I have the same problem with my HD. I updated to the 0404 build from the 0331 build and I have lost access to my root screen from the home button and can't find the root apps anywhere. Even tried updating the gapps but to no avail.
Update: On advice from a friend, I went back to 0331 and everything appeared fine. He tells me the problem is between Trebuchet and the 0404 build.
OK, I installed Chrome.apk and GoogleMaps.apk manually, but the problem I am still having is I can't see the SD Card when it's in. I can't set SD Card as destination. Any word on how to do that?

You need to install the location services zip. That sets up gps permissions so that Maps becomes compatible. You may need to clear the data on the Play Store app first. Once you install Maps, then YouTube should work.

What do you mean sdcard as destination? You mean you cannot see the external SD? If you read my HD/HD+ tips thread linked in my signature, and look at item item 9, Data Structures and item 12, Swapping you will understand. You can flash the swap in my CWM thread.

Thanks for the reply. I have locations services enabled and the manually loaded maps works with location services. How do I clear the data on the Play Store app?

I read that, I have the SD Swap.zip on my bootable SD, but it was confusing, as It seems that it will swap storage with internal SD and External SD. I thought there was a way to use the external SD as extra space. Like when I try to load movies from Vplayer, it doesn't see my external SD. Also, Root Browser, can't seem to navigate to the external SD.

There is a way to use the external SD as storage. And I agree the swap is confusing because we cannot change the names. The problem is that some apps cannot browse to ext_sdcard. It is under /mnt and hard to find.

Anyone can give me a hint on how to clear the cache for Google Play Store? It doesn't show up in Settings -> Applications. Is there a directory I need to empty? Thanks.

I found the easiest way is to install adw launcher from the play store and put the Play Store as a shortcut on the adw home screen. Then long press that shortcut and it gives you the option to manage the app. Then you can clear the cache. You want to clear data too if you want to improve app compatibility.
Actually I like adw launcher better than zeam anyway. It has more customization.

That worked. After clearing the cache and data I was able to install Google Play Services and now I'm able to log into Youtube!
Thanks!
