hehe couldn't resist to test it hahaha, but i read here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fr7q6SbX8Do
that it takes a good hour to get the normal volume back... so i think it's normal
Well, after more than a half hour my volume got back.... so people who get this same problem, i think it has to do with some protection. The speaker have to be dry to get the normal volume back

Pre ordered from Hi (Netherlands) and got it yesterday
30m to an 1hour and the loudspeaker will be fine, the same thing happened my Xperia Z . Its a protection " Thing "
I expect this question to appear on forums everywhere as more people get this phone and try it out in water.
I must be too old and remember when everyone had a waterproof radio for the shower (as they were advertised everywhere as the perfect gadget gift idea).. Which was fine until water got on the speaker and it got all muffled. Same thing with the XZ! And perhaps why we don't all have radios in the shower anymore!

Whoops Ive called up three to exchange my Xperia Z as I thought it had developed a volume fault.
I also peeled of the screen protector as the operator had asked are you sure the screen protector plastic is still attached ?
Doooh
Now the question is to fit or not fit the new supplied screen protectors that came with in the box ??
The screen looks so much sharper and clearer without it.

It just happened to me. You know what I did? Placed the Z's speaker against my notebook's fan, like 10 cm away. In less than 10 mins I received a notification and the volume was high again! So I guess blowing it with hot air does the trick..
I have just ordered myself a c6603 model (UK) and was worried because my bro said that the z has speaker probs but now I have read this thread I am not worried anymore. It does make sense to lower the speaker volume when in water because if you think about it, when the speaker is on it vibrates causing pressure variation so in theory it could suck in water through the protective mesh at full volume. But my acro s doesn't lower the volume when under water or wet and its OK, strange how the z seems to need a little extra protection from water but then again it is an expensive device I suppose.

I had the same Issue, I read on a Forum this is normal after 1-2 Hours all Water was gone from the Speaker side and the Sound returned to the normal!
Guys, does it interfere the headset sound?
I mean, when my Z gets in the water, for about 1 hour I have both the loudspeaker and the earphones working with a very low volume...
First of all,Sorry if this thread had been covered elsewhere.. Been using my xperia z for few months now and just yesterday I been using my phone to take pictures for the whole day. I notice that my phone start to have a click sound when my phone zooming either in or out. I have made my phone silence of its camera sound but it seem like the sound was not from the speaker but from the back of the phone. As if there is something hitting the back glass of the phone. Note: it was hot yesterday, my xperia z was in my tough case by casemate, and phone was hanging at my neck the whole time. Beforehand it never had any sound but now it does and sometimes occasionally happen. Do u guys facing the same problem? And what might be the reason for the click soubd? Should I be worried?
Thanks all

I've got the same problem. Is it normal?
Mine does it aswell.... my guess is that the sounds comes from the lens when stabilizing/focusing the picture

I was thinking the same but then when I try to detect the sound it comes from the back panel that is located near to the len.. So as for the lens stabilizing or focusing it at the lens and not the back panel. I hope this is not a problem that may cause malfunctions to the device..:crying: maybe im not hearing it properly of the sound location..
is it possible to remove the sony logo from the z1?
I have seen a few videos, I am wondering if Sony has "fixed" this or not.
personnaly, I want it removed.
please let me know the pros and cons.
Waiting for replies
which Sony logo?
The one on the device, the one on the screen at boot up?
A little more clarification would be nice.
Also, what do you mean "Have Sony fixed this?" Its not a problem or bug.

OK, Just take off the anti shatter film that is on the front of the phone. The Sony logo is printed on that.
PS, I am unsure how you thought Sony was going to "Fix" this....

removing the film will make it less water proof?
I am thinking of evenly removing the film, bottom and top around 5mm but not on the glass

I was talking about the logo branding on top of the phone, the sony logo.
removing the logo will give a more premium feel, like iphone or nexus, but it's also my opinion so yeah.
but apparently, removing the logo will void my warranty, so not sure if I will do it or not.
I haven't bought it yet, considering it just because of this feature, (to remove the branding )
anyway, can you guys comment on sound quality? volume? is it similar to nexus 5?

Yes it will!
But just concerning mechanical and cosmetical defects of the screen.
At least that's what the German Sony Support told me, when I emailed them.

OK, but when I removed mine and returned my Xperia T with a cracked screen I got a new one with no questions asked.
So I think it does not effect warrenty
Everytime I put my xperia v in water, water leaks into the microphone and it doesn't work properly after that! I made sure I clipped the back cover and the openings to the USB and Headphone jacks properly!

Same here. Mine had more issues. There was some droplets forming inside the camera and then there was a white smudge in the LCD as well. I think there was some kind of a leak in mine. But those aren't there anymore, but the mic issue still prevails.
How long did you guys leave it be?
Hello fellow Xperia T users..
I have a slight problem.
I have a small smear mark inside my screen...on my Sony Xperia T. It can only be seen in light or white backgrounds...
My phone is second hand, so god knows what the previous user has done to it..
I do not want to send it to Sony for repair due to costs.
So hence I'm asking if anyone can advice.
If I do a screenshot of the screen..the mark is not produced in the picture.
I have checked by taking off the screen protector and cleaning the screen, but the mark is still there...
It's just abit annoying....

if that thing is not produced in the screenshot ,its definitely not related to the display. and i dont think its the mixing pixel. did you check removing the screengaurd by sony? i mean sony xperia t has its own screencard by sony. if you remove it you wont even have the sony logo

You don't seem to know anything about a screen and a screenshot. If you have a dead pixel on a screen, and do a screenshot it will safe the data sent do the screen as a picture.... And he already said that he removed anything that was on the screen. I did that on my XT, too, and I still have the sony logo!
