Hi guys
I'm probably not the only one that has some remarks with the vibration of the HTC One.
When I am on the lowest volume setting, other people can hear my phone vibrate out of my pocket.
It's even more horrible that I can only head the vibration instead of the noticiation sound when I recieve a text.
Does anybody have a solution to fix this issue or do I have to live with it?

You need a custom kernel like Elementalx, Faux with the support at this mod and the Faux app for edit the density of the vibration
And I guess I'll lose all the data when installing a custom kernel?

You won't lose anything if your phone is already modded.
If it isn't already modded you will lose data unlocking the bootloader.
Well, my phone has an unlocked bootloader + root access.
So that means that I can freely change the kernel without any consequences?

Yup, you can flash any kernel compatible with your android version and phone version
Phone version, how do you mean?
Is that just the HTC One (as phone version) or the UL/Sprint/ATT version?

Good luck
I just flashed the ElementalX kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249774)
But apparantly, the vibration didn't reduce (or I coudn't find an option to do it).
Is that kernel able to modify the intensity?

I remeber that i edited it with Faux app.
You can try with it.
I can't seem to find a kernel for the 4.3 Sense version.
Is it just me over doesn't it exist?

***Easier method*** ***NO ROOT***
If you want to get rid of vibration completely, but without putting your phone on silent, just use App Ops! You need something to launch the activity, there are App-ops launchers in Play Store or you could just use a Tasker task. Once you're in, just go through all your apps and untick the "Vibration" permission!
No root required!!!

I'm currently on minicm7 2.1.9. My questions are:
(1) If I update to 2.2.0, will my settings be wiped?
(2) Is the any difference between updating via auto update and download then flash?
(3) I forgot what I was about to type here, dammit.
(4) Is it only me or other people also can't install chainfire 3d on 2.1.9 (or maybe the other apps I installed are messing with it)
(5) I want the old auto brightness / screen dimming from 2.0.7, how can I get it back? I followed the autobrightness thread but it just messed my phone.

It looks like install using CWM doesn't work for 2.1.9 (at least in my phone, as well as in 2.2.0)

Thanks man. I think I'll just wait for more updates. It takes me about one day to get my phone working the way I want it perfectly after a flash, even with titanium backup. But that ardeno lib update is just sooo tempting.
Hello, I am brand new to rooting. This is the first phone I have rooted. I am trying to improve its performance and and possibly change the boot animation and stuff. I used rom toolbox but it wouldn't change my boot. And all overclocking apps cqn only underclock it. Does anyone know if it cqn be overclocked? And how to change the boot animation? I already improved space using gl to sd, but I haven't found any forums on overclocking qnd and boot animation. Please help this noob. And thank you
You can use Boot Box (look it up on Google Play) to change your boot animation. To overclock your CPU, you're going to need a supported kernel, which isn't available at the moment. Overclocking won't be possible on your device unless someone releases a kernel which supports it.
By the way, you have posted this thread in the wrong forum section.

Yes, the device is rooted, I have supersu enabled. And my device is currently stock rom. However I can't seem to change much. I tried to change the notification background using rom toolbox and that also didn't work. It seems as though my Device uses qmg files

If you are rooted, then install xposed framework & modules. It's the best way to customize. Use the search bar to find them.

Of course not. If it says 4.2, it's for 4.2 (always read the OP carefully) & so on. If you know what you're doing, you won't brick your phone, for sure

This one, although not sure if you have to enable dt2w or something or if it's enabled automatically. Look through the instructions on that post if it isn't.

Did you flash a CDMA ROM? Black screens usually occur due to 2 things:
1) You flashed a GSM ROM
2) Your SuperSU is messed up.

I just renamed nfc.m7wls.so to nfc.defaulf.so and NFC started working immediately. I rebooted anyway just to make sure but it works.
Smokin901 posted this same fix back around version 6, it worked then and still works now. I wonder how come it can't be incorporated into the kernel installer.

I choose not to and suggest to have two files nfc.default.so and nfc.m7wls.so because if you switch to different kernel nfc will be be broken again.
Hey guys. Can anyone confirm that this is working with Viper 7.0.1?
I tried flashing it, I had a bunch of graphics problems like screen tearing, no wallpaper, reboot menu not appearing, screen shots not working.
Should I try with a fresh flash?
Thanks in advance.

If cpu is on max frequency very often then something is keeping it busy check your apps.
Bluetooth headset
I read that Bluetooth is supposed to be working on this kernel. I have had no issues with anything other than no call audio with the bluetooth. Medias works fine. Love the kernel other than that. Is there a fix i am not aware of for this? Would be great to use my headset.

BT should work with 17.2-3
Thank you for the suggestion, tried it. Same issues, im going to try a different rom later to see if that has something to do with it. Although it workedfine on this rom until i used the kenel. Love it so far minus this one hiccup.
James
UPDATE:
I tried using the newest version of the SkyDragon Rom and the BT worked fine. Then I went ahead and added the Elementalx 17.2.3 Kernel, and right back to no call audio. But the kernel did fix a few other issues including the WIFI Tether app not working properly, minus the fact that it wont shut down the HostAPD. I have to manully shut that down to get it to restart, but works fine. And I really like the wake gestures. I am not sure why the BT wont work on my device but I thought I would share what I know so far. Thanks for the great work so far, I see it just keeps getting tweaked and made better. Keep it up.

Edit2: it now looks like the NFC fix is just a coincidence. After reflashing the ROM and the kernel I have call audio on first boot. As soon as I restart call audio is broken again. Am i screwing up something with the double restart after flashing this kernel? I know the instructions say wait for it to fully boot before restarting. I was considering the phone fully booted when the c1, c2, and c3 went to idle. Should I wait longer?

Is there any way to change the vibration intensity of the vibration, for calls or messages or for anything for that matter?
I used the TWRP recovery, and it has the option to change the intensity of the vibration under the "Advanced" section, meaning it is definitely possible to control it in a way.
I have used the apps in the xposed framework, but none of them worked, so please give some other solutions if possible.
Also, I read it on some forum that the vibration in the stock kernel is not changeable, so if any other kernel is able to change that, or if there is any way of changing it, then please post. The build.prop file also does not have any tweak on the haptic vibration change values, so i could not do that either.
I am using Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 with the Stock ROM.
Thanks in advance
