[Q] HW accelerated video playback

Has anyone succeeded enabling HW decoders in BS player and MX player on droid/milestone?
I installed both of them, installed the ARMv7 codec packs for their respective players, and tried many different videos. It always renders in SW mode. Is it possible at all to enable the HW mode on this chip?
Forgot to mention, I am using CM9 (9.1.0b) which afaik does support HW accelerated decoding.
I only managed to enable HW+ decoding in MX Player using CM7.
In CM9 and 10 it somehow doesn't work :/

Doogee X5 - video issue

Hi,
I'm not able to open h.264/mpeg-4 avc videos (x264) 1920x1080 in this device on HW acceleration mode. I can play streams, videos only in SW mode. To be honest I can't open any video file in HW mode., only SW works.
SW works well with files lower than 1920x1080. (FHD movies are played very low FPS).
I tried all settings in Bsplayer, mxplayer (HW+, etc). It's not working.
My device is Doogee X5 (MT6580, Mali 400-mp).
What can I do?
Regards,

x265 HW acceleration on MXPlayer

Hi
Is there any way to get HW acceleration for playback of x265 video files on MX Player on stock Marshmallow. It is only working in SW mode for me and resulting in choppy playback.
HW mode seems to be working on CM13 and the playback is really smooth.
Can anyone tell me why this is ?
Thanks in advance.

1080p HEVC decoding

I'm thinking if this tablet could be a good choice, but I would like to know if the device support smooth playback of 1080p HEVC 8-bit and 10-bit video?
Any ideas?

Unfortunatly, there is no hardware decoding for HEVC on this device and the cpu can't handle the load for HEVC software decoding.
To choose the right device, look at the supported codecs by the gpu.
As an example, galaxy tab s5e seems more suitable with its snapdragon 670 whitch support both HEVC 8 and 10-bit (according wikipedia, qualcomm wesite does no mention bit depth).
When i use MX player with transvoding SW or HW (i forget), hevc works without freeze

Galaxy Tab A7 (SD662) hardware acceleration hvec missing

Hello.
I'm not able to activate hw decoder in VLC or mxplayer with my new Galaxy Tab A7 with snapdragon 662
VLC activates but h265 4k videos plays like crap or get stuck.
Mxplayer says that hw or hw+ decoder is not supported
Does not the SD662 has hw decoder? What's going on? It is possible that it's too new and drivers are not supported yet?
FYI, Galaxy tab A 10.1 with exynos works perfect with the same videos and MX player for example wont fail to activate HW decoder
Thanks
